The I/OCoin development team is announcing the addition of several strong developers to our team after an extensive vetting process. Both developers are highly respected and will be working to ensure our continued blockchain development, as well as to expedite the DIONS project. One developer will be focusing primarily on DIONS. The second developer will be working with the first to take DIONS and the potential it offers to new heights. Hi I/OCoin fellow investors,
Just a brief update from the I/OCoin staff.
As we all know our lead developer max went missing in December. We still havent heard anything from him.
That is a setback for us because he was working on DIONS. DIONS is a huge thing for us. When implementing DIONS, it would be able to store data on our blockchain enabling many more possible blockchain projects. if DIONS is done, we have the ability to add something to the blockchain and get it out again (possibly in a different format)
Input / Output = I/OCoin.
For example sending some currency into our blockchain and another coin comes out the other end using smart contracts or other features on top of the chain.
We want other companies to use our strong and secure blockchain. They can build anything they want on top of it! That is the future.
All crypto currency specialists agree that not Bitcoin is the future, but the blockchain itself. The currency BTC is just a feature on top of the blockchain.
This is also how we look at IOC. Our blockchain is our most important asset and we are investing heavily in it with our own money. Not an ICO.
When Max went missing we decided that we would give him some time. Maybe he was struggling and would come back to us. Eventually when he didn't we decided to look for a new developer. And we found one. Details are still being discussed but as a team we have the confidence this -highly respected- developer is what it takes to get DIONS back on track. Give us a few more days to finalize things.
Yesterday the team had a very good meeting discussing the direction we should go with I/OCoin. The team is fully on the same page about our future plans.
We have some good plans discussed and these will be groundbreaking in crypto (besides DIONS).
As you know us we will only talk about these things when they are almost done or finalized. Not over promising.
But we can say that we are looking to add more functionality in the HTML5 wallet. The HTML5 wallet is one of a kind.
Building extra features in a QT wallet is difficult and takes a lot of time. All the other coins have those problems. HTML5 is easy to extend and we have to make that to our advantage.
One of the things we are looking at is to add a trader tool inside the wallet. Yes, a trader tool. Many coins tried that but failed because the QT difficulties. Trade all coins on different exchanges within the wallet. That is just one of our new projects.
Last few weeks we have seen that the interest in IOC is growing. The price is slowly rising and the community is becoming more active.
We have been added to cointopay.com and litepaid.com. You can accept IOC in your webshop using these services.
There are more A-ranked services we are talking to, so new additions will be made the coming weeks.

Really great post, for anyone looking to invest into i/ocoin, you just have to read the opening post and see all the great developments that are continuously being pushed and worked on, to see, #iocoin is a solid choice in the minefield that is crypto.
Many coins in crypto 'pack up shop' after a few months and die, because they have lazy devs and most often, they were only made with one thing in mind , a quick profit.
I/OCoin continues to raise the bar and the HTML5 wallet , a first for crypto, is stunning, plus, it has one major advantage over QT wallet, it is easy to build on, i can easily imagine the great features being planned here, coming to life and impressing people more and more.
Not only this, it is clear to see all of the people who are working hard every day, have fantastic work ethic and have big goals and the vision to see, in the future there will be several cryptocurrency coins who will make the big time and with everything i/ocoin has in place now and will have in place over the next year, i/ocoin digital currency will get many people talking and investing in this digital currency, i am sure.

NEWS JANUARY 17th 2015 from the North American Bitcoin Conference
Had a Good day today at the North American Bitcoin Conference here in Miami. I was able to speak to some great people about I/O Coin's project. Tomorrow will be another great day of meetings and introducing our bitcoin friends to our project.
On another note, as you all know our lead dev Max Antonenko went missing on and around Dec 9th and we have not received any updates on his whereabouts or well being. It has been extremely concerning to our entire team, the I/O Digital Currency project will continue as we work as hard as ever to make this coin great. We are in the process of interviews with very talented people to continue our journey to DIons and we hope to have good news this coming week. I want to let everyone know that today at the conference I heard allot of talk about side chains projects. These projects will run simultaneously paired to the bitcoin block chain. One thing that caught my attention, is the fact that most of these projects are to improve and add features to the bitcoin blockchain, which is POW (still requiring mining, high difficulty, energy costs, with almost 10 minute confirmation times etc). This is encouraging to see as it basically assured me that we are on the right path. Our POS I/O blockchain transaction times and confirmation times are super fast, with almost 16sec confirmation times. The teams move to upgrade our blockchain to DIONs, will give us decentralized aliases. We plan to follow on to broaden the ability to store data and push on with some interesting blockchain concepts. We have a totally unique project. The POS I/O blockchain with current IONS aliases, mobile pos lite mode is unmatched, with the added ability to speed up transactions and volume control. We have a strong base for us to build on, without the need for side chains like bitcoin.

This is exactly the reason why I never lose sleep over my IOC investment. I really wish I could do more apart from tweeting and retweeting. I tried to get 1 or 2 online pharmacies in the UK to accept BTC and IOC but unfortunately the majority of healthcare professionals I have spoken to never heard of digital currency, let alone accept it as payment. It is a long road and hopefully those of us who are patient will be rewarded at the end.
