Why IOTA in not in an exchange yet?

"We have denied exchanges"...

Would you accept exchanges now if they re-contact you ?

It's not a matter of communication with exchanges. When IOTA is ready it will be traded there.

Why IOTA in not in an exchange yet?
the iota devs have set in stone a list of pre-requisites before allowing iota into the exchanges. that is a very sensible and reasonable decision of them, reflecting the true goal of the iota project: the long term real world usage, instead of short term speculation.
as soon as the devs are satisfied, the exchanges will be authorised to offer iota trades, now as a perfected technology (there are great exchanges participating on iota slack already, don't forget this fact).
meanwhile, there's slack for the pre-exchange trades.

Why IOTA in not in an exchange yet?

Because we care about technology, not trading. IOTA is built to be the backbone of real world applications. We have denied exchanges from listing it until we are confident that the ecosystem is ready.

Sorry, I'm new here with a newbie question.

Downloadad the windows wallet 2.1.0, then "Switch to Light Node". After that I have to choose the host.

I did this several times with several hosts:
- http://eugene.iota.community:14265

All to no avail. What I see is a blank green screen, shortly afterwards followed by "Could not load light wallet functionality."

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

please read this ^^ and download last ver of IOTA wallet.

... Then Cryptkeeper started spamming Byteball in the IOTA Slack, I proceeded to inform him that this was the IOTA slack, he was free to speak about byteball, but not try to recruit people/sell Byteball, he pretended to agree on the terms. One day later he starts again, so I banned him ...

whenever one is in somebody else's house, one should follow the house owner's rules. this is called respect. iota's slack is iota's home: iota's admins rules should be respected there, under penalty of banishment. no doubts here. if one is not satisfied: create his own slack, create his own thread.... you are free. but respect others' threads or forums rules.

I should indeed get that in my office, there's unfortunately a veeeery long list of idiots and trolls in this world.

I find it absolutely beyond hilarious that you play the victim card of "I AM BEING CENSORED" like some stupid social justice warrior infantile pussy. You were warned not to spam IOTA Slack/Thread with Byteball nonsense, discussions were fine, marketing and spamming was not, you agreed, then you violated it, you got banned, even the creator of Byteball accepted this and understood it.

"Omg, I am being banned for violating rules I have agreed with on a forum, damn I am being censored, this is how living in North Korea must feel like, PLEASE feel sorry for me aaand buy my tokens"

You lost the ability to be taken serious after your evening long meltdown after learning the concept of consequences. /ignore

Another post about this insignificant bs called 'byteball' = ban

While I completely agree this is not the place to discuss the "insignificant bs", the tone of this message forced me to reply.

What kind of peremptory shout is this? Are we in nazi kindergarten? Is there a rule published on the top of the thread, which prohibits to discuss "insignificant bs", and allows someone to talk in this tone to other "regular" people here?

If yes, then ban me. If not, then I would expect your apologies.

Don't you know that there is this sign hanging on the wall behind David's desk?

Join the Byteball slack, there you can discuss different altcoins (even IOTA) freely without being censored!

You clearly have not followed this pseudo-drama in detail.

It started with light discussion about Byteball in Slack, no one batted an eye, we had no problem with it, in fact we engaged in the chat casually. Then Cryptkeeper started spamming Byteball in the IOTA Slack, I proceeded to inform him that this was the IOTA slack, he was free to speak about byteball, but not try to recruit people/sell Byteball, he pretended to agree on the terms. One day later he starts again, so I banned him, even the creator of Byteball agreed with me after explaining the course of events to him.

Then Byteball posts suddenly started showing up here, in the vast majority of cases in discussions that had NOTHING to do with IOTA. This is the IOTA thread, not "let's discuss all random cryptocoins" thread. We have said before that we will delete off-topic nonsense, particularly when it comes from known trolls.
