What is causing the drama is a communication problem: donation (or forced donation) was a bad choice of words. This 5% demand is not a donation, it is a remuneration for the works of the Dev Team from now on. That is it, pure and simple.

If you believe that the core team deserves the remuneration and that their works are necessary for the future of the project, it is only honest that you pay.

The payment price is 5% of your IOTAs. Paying anything less than that is dishonest (or at least, it means that the person does not want these developers to continue in the project). Also, paying anything more than 5%, now that would be considered as a donation, and we are all free to donate, at any time.

Let's, please, stop this fuss. If the developers receive their due payment, they will continue performing their works. If they do not receive, they have the moral right to quit the project and look for a job that pays for their efforts.

We had communication issues since day one. Let's now try to be straight and clearer in our words, and avoid creating false hopes and ideas.

You just said in an earlier post that IOTA has had terrible performance thus far, even though it has 20xed in value and is the world's first blockless and feeless distributed ledger with big companies interested. This just permanently disqualify you to ever speak on any issue again. I can't take you seriously anymore.

I will not even begin to respond to these questions, I don't care at all what you think of me. It has no bearing or impact on me, as you are clearly a useless troll who makes false accusations, are completley incapable of logical thought or coherent discussions, you honestly believe you OWN people because you bought a product from them and you act like a spoiled little kid which is way too annoying for me to deal with.

If you were honest and genuine about your concerns you would ask in a civil and serious manner, not say stupid shit like: "You guys are THREATENING us if you don't act as our slaves!", "I know I only bought a car, but now I demand roads for free too!", "IOTA has outperformed virtually every crypto in terms of tech and ROI before it has even officially launched, yet it has shit performance".

the whole point is that at the moment we cannot do anything anyhow apart from wait for the launch. a forced donation (thats what i assume you are all about) is anyway completely out of the question.

Your assumption is that 5% donation will be reached after the launch and the coin hits exchanges. The question is that if the 5% won't be reached during the claiming, will it be reached after the launch and hits the exchanges?

If your assumption is wrong, we will be doomed. Why don't people take it seriously? Haven't you seen Lisk and waves? To the current iota team, the important thing is to make a successful netwrok. It doesn't matter who will make the network successful, the decentralized community or the consortium.

sorry, this is too important to ignore. read what's being said guys, there's a good chance everyone's money spent on IOTA 'software' will be gone, and CfB and iotatoken will fork the existing code and take it to the corporate world to reboot another network with another token, leaving all of us behind

let IOTA be launched, give an address to donate or even better a donate button, let some weeks pass and THEN have a look what came around. And if something is missing i am sure some will be willing to do another donation until the 5% are reached.

15 % funded with little more than a 3% donated by anyone who took IOTA from seed, it's not reassuring . there is a BTC address for donation or something else , didn't understand why only IOTA need to be donated , is good and all because isn't invested any more money but why only IOTA .

There will be a new network and new token and new name if the foundation don't get enough funds and don't get created. That is the whole point about creating the foundation.

how exactly can I donate?

when I claimed my IOTA, I entered 5% into the dialogue entry filed that opened in 'nostalgia.html' but I did not get any feedback or confirmation that I have indeed donated.

before sending more, I would like to be sure how much I have already sent, and to which address to send more.

Then donation is the only way for the foundation to get the 5% to start with.

OK, guys, we have only two options:
1) donate at least 5% when you claim your coins for the foundation and the foundation can be created and founded and have the minimum resources to start to work and function. it is important to do the donation during your claiming coins because if you don't do it during the claiming process it will almost impossible for you to do it (donating 5% or more) in the future when the coins are on the market/exchanges and when you can sell your coins easily. It is just human nature. (I don't mean there aren't exceptions, but let's just think about the average here. The exceptions won't cover the average).

2) not donate or donate less than 5% when you claim you coin and the foundation won't be created and no one with the necessary tech and industry knowledge will work on the development and promotion of iota in the future and iota will become oblivious quickly just like nxt and crypti, maybe even worse.
