I would not call investing in altcoins very risky, since this type of investment has the same risks as investing in startup projects. To risk was moderate, a person should spend more time on what he invests.
Altcoins always were risky to invest, even investing in bitcoin is a risky move. More risk means more potential profit. But if you feel that you cannot handle it, you shouldn`t invest.

YEA I have always believed in bitcoin and ethereum and kind of skeptical about altcoins. There are great ones out there though like NEO, RIPPLE or the first 10 cryptos generally.

Investing in any altcoins Now is at high risk specially when you got it from exchanges. Many altcoins that are listed in the market is in the possibility that there has no left chance that the price will once again reach the expectations of the investors because of the deep crash of bitcoin now and when bitcoin will bounce back many altcoins are not able to go with the flow.
Altcoins are very low prices so I dont think there is much risk now, maybe they can drop %30-50 more okey but we will see x5 x10 when bull season come, so I dont wait lowest price, I buy and hodl.

Yes, it completely depends on the altcoin you choose because there are many fake coins listed in coinmarket cap without any further developments, this makes to decrease the price of the coin, so always we have to be very selective while choosing and investing.
