Whether up or down, crypto has passed this year, the tide or ebb of coin prices is natural for Crypto, because it has often happened in crypto. I hope that altcoin at the end of this year will be able to sway by reaching a good price and reaching a number where everyone wants it. So that the altcoin value can be ready to be harvested and produce many benefits for the holders.
It depends on the functionality of the tokens and its demand to the investors. If the token is pure solid. Then we can expect a big rock on this token for this year. But if its quite opposite, there may be a silent drop to it.
I think that this might not be the time for altcoins to rock the market. It hasn't really been a good year for a lot of them, and we are hoping to see them do better in a better market condition, and that I do not see happening anytime soon, so let's wait and see how next year would go.
Now I do not expect to see any rapid changes in the growth of altcoins price as it depend on the price of bitcoin. Rather this year will be more calm. Hope in January 2019 something will change!

Yes, Altcoin is going to rock in this year because it is very interesting and independent coin with promising technology. It will boom in coming months.
Only little run for this year, since this year is bearish and can only dip more and pump little, even the king is trying to get up from it dip line and alts also will follow suite.
For me this will not be a good year for crypto. Based on the movement of the prices and the status of the market, the best we could expect until the end of the year is to recover.

Altcoins can differ from Bitcoin in a range of ways. Some have a different economic model or a different coin-distribution method, like altcoins that were given away to all citizens of a country. Others employ different proof-of-work mining algorithms, perhaps to resist specialized mining hardware — or maybe they don’t even rely on proof of work at all. Several altcoins offer a more versatile programming language to build applications on top of, while yet others offer more privacy compared to Bitcoin. And there are also altcoins that serve very specific, non-monetary use cases, like domain name registry or data storage pointers.
I am believe that cryptocurrencies will show their best results to the end of this year. It would be great example of market sustainability and nice inspiration for potential investors.
Ethereum always has a great chance to skyrocket, the number of tokens that use the ethereum platform become the hope that ethereum's use will continue to increase, and of course it becomes very profitable if you have ethereum.
I don't think that altcoins is going to take most of us to that place that we are hoping it takes us to. For one, many of us are expecting that most of these coins hit their all time high this year, but I do not see that happening right cos of the way the market is built right now. The prices of these altcoins are down and a lot of them are struggling to keep their feet in the market. Even if anything is going to happen with them, it wouldn't be so much of a big deal.
I hope so that it will rise up this year but obviously some of them will be crap because of too much competition of these coins in the market as there are so many Altcoins to choose from with only few real demand of it. So expect only the top ranked Altcoins will bounce back by this year like ETH, XRP, BCH. and EOS.
Yes there is lot of possibility that altcoins will rock in this year because you can see last year that same happened with altcoins. so i think at the end of 2018 altcoins can break all the higher records.
Personally, I do not believe all altcoins will rock this year even considering the present situation of the market. I believe when the bull run starts, the potential ones will rock but not even as much as bitcoin while the weak ones will remain low.
They can recover and even gain a bit but not rock. I suppose we all have to wait for at least half a year more to see another market. I believe that Bitcoin will grow much as well as Ethereum and top-100 alts.
Altcoins had a boom last year due to the very high influx of newbies into the crypto space and a bull run that saw almost all crypto assets increase in value.
This year has been a different story and there has been a lot of correction in the market so I think the altcoins market this year will be different from last year and it may not be in a positive way.

I did not find that possibility. All altcoins follow the path of bitcoin for prices, Altcoin requires more time and must be more reliable.

Yes, there really are a lot of interesting coins with their promising technologies. But the harsh reality is that on a market that is falling into the abyss, no one has a chance to start a rapid growth up. And the market is now in terrible decline, unfortunately.
Recently market got one new token name ACM token from GCOX was 156% oversubscribed when their 1st ITS!!! what u all waiting for? i think it is really a bright future project XD

Everything will depend on bitcoin and the market situation as a whole. Certainly, some coins will grow, some will disappear altogether, but this is not surprising ...
For now many depends from accepting bitcoin etf.
ETF can be postponed till the january 2019 and if happen, we dont see rise in this year be sure.
