It may not be a scam but rankly the development team is too slow. Evene after relaunch, the mobile miner is still offline. Evene though their ico sales has increased in value to over 100M dollars, but still they haven't paid any big exchange to list their coin. When we look at other alt coins, they are really growing but this is too stagnant. I know that the price is well above, but at the end, its the speed at which it grows is what matters. And frankly, starting petitions to get listed on coinbase was silly. Forget coinbase, you aren't even listed on any lower exchanges as well.

All I can say is, we will see.

They have only been around for about 6 months or so.

I put in the equivalent (at that time) of just under $100. It was my first venture into crypto ever and unfortunately it feels like the more I learn since then, the less faith I have in the project as a whole. I don't think they set out to scam people outright. But now I see that they are a bunch of under-qualified marketing schmucks in waaay over their heads, who sold big crypto dreams to a bunch of people for whom $100 is probably a huge amount.
As of now your hundred dollars is worth about $250. So sell and move on to something different as you have no faith in this project, its that simple. And you can say in future that my first venture into cryptocurrency with Electroneum was a success and I more than doubled my investment, pretty cool huh?

Hahaha. Well said. People are just upset that they were expecting their $100 to be $2500 by now and these scammers only managed to make it $250. Bloody filthy scammers!  Grin

And if you bought in 1st round in the ICO, there was even a point that their $100 WAS at $2500 if sold at the ETNs ATH, and still they scream scam.

Yes, they clearly just love to bitch.

This reminds me when one of IOTAs founders, David, when people bitched when they were at 20x plus early on. He let those.bitching have it. Which he should have. People said, "hey, but but but youre supposed to be presidential" and he didnt care, as he was right. Anyone bitching when their sitting on 20x gains early on in a project, needs to get their head examined!!! LOL

Only in the crypto world man. lol.

I still HODL as I am confident that once tech issues are fixed this coin will go to the moon Smiley

I've heard a lot of bad things about this project, but I know only one thing that this project has done very badly with its bounty hunters, and this can only mean one thing that the project is very greedy. Maybe I'm wrong.

Electroneum is not a scam project. The project has since been proved a success. It is trading in many exchanges today and holders and intending holders are exchanging their coins without stress.

the referral program could have skewed the results a bit by enticing investors to invite others at any cost, but in my opinion this only served to get more customers on board.

I don't think that cause Electroneum is a brand new British cryptocurrency launching via an Initial Coin Offering (ICO)

Its not a SCAM  but make no mistake its a  SHITCOIN Huh .

Price will increase for sure because its crypto craxe  but nothing changing the world here
hahahaha i made savage money off it. its still nearly 3x the ico and thats at its lowest. wake the fuck up.

The fact that you made money off it, does not make something less scammy (ie: verge, tron). While the project itself is not a scam per-se, it resorts to scammy marketing tactics. Luring in people with the idea that you're mining with your phone is a scammy tactic. Doesn't matter if you're getting credited for the fake mining, you are implying the network can be upheld securely by mobile devices (which would be awesome, imo). We all know that doesn't happen and you're basically getting some airdropped tokens. Electroneum brings literally NOTHING to the table. It is for all intents and purposes a shitcoin.

It is a marketing tool. I do not get why it is a scammy tactic. What difference does it make to the person mining if they are getting coins all the same? Mainstream people who this is aimed at will not care if it is true mining or not. The result for them is the same.

Because there is no incentive for real miners to bother with this and they are important for network security. Free coins don’t exactly have a lot of value if there’s no work or effort involved in getting them - basically anyone who can operate a smartphone can get this. That’s great if you don’t care about the greater good but it doesn’t exactly educate anyone. Maybe ‘scammy’ is the wrong word but there isn’t exactly a lot or any real innovation or developments recently.

What I can't comprehend is why maybe you, me and about 5 other people seem capable of understanding this (I have been jumped on by enough rabid ETN fanboys) and that the concept of cryptocurrency is around decentralisation and network security by making something infeasibly hard to defeat (e.g. PoW algorithm). Airdropped tokens from Electroneum's own network is centralised, people running an app on their phone is centralised and there is no PoW consensus. I literally had this argument with an idiot on Twitter who was demanding answers because he had 12 phones connected and mining through their app, so many things wrong with that... like he was some kind of saint contributing to the cause. I am yet to see anything innovative from this lot other than mass marketing and hype to uneducated people who think crypto is just about getting rich quick and buying a Lambo - I bet half of them couldn't even tell you the name of the PoW algorithm they use. The only reason I hold ETN is because if I'm wrong and it is carried by hype alone, then I don't want to miss out.

Electroneum make really huge marketing campaign but  it indicators aren’t very impressive telling the truth. I advice to abstain of big investment s in this currency in the near future.

Usually when there is a lot of talk about the fact that a project is actually a scam, it always has some basis. I recommend refraining from investing in this project.

Pretty much this.

People say 'oh it can't be a scam, I made X', that's hardly logic.

Coin value been doing down and down, still not on the big exchanges (what are they afraid of - people just selling up, or can they just not get listed on them). Blockchain is always having delays because they chose the wrong algorithm for the project, I guess it was just easy to copy Monero's source code but not to understand it.

I'm fairly sure they're just biding their time so they can get out when their ICO funds unlock in November this year.
