Yes it is one of the future coins so you can hold it for longer term to earn more profits.But don't put all your money in one coin especially for longer terms like five years.so ethereum is worth to hold for five years and the price will be in moon in my opinion.But don't forget to include bitcoins in longer term portfolio.

Nowadays, ETH getting more popularity because of in ICO platform ETH still use for contract address and it also good investment for long-term and also good for short term investment because of because when market up eth price definitely hit 700$.
