No,not every ico is scam, there are some good projects with experienced team and promising future ,but I must agree that unfortunately there are many icos with suspisious devs and poor or too fantastic idea of a project. That's why we must make a good research before investing money in icos.

You also need to understand that if the project could not build a soft cap or hard cap, it does not mean that it is fraudulent. Often the project team itself does not know whether it will achieve the desired result. Also, a lot depends on the proper advertising of the project, this is almost the main factor for successful fundraising.

No, but 99% of ICOs are, or they are at least regular money grabs. They don't plan on developing anything concrete.

I believe you should walk with your own feet. Thoroughly research the ICOs of your interest, and I guarantee that over time you will be able to differentiate a legitimate ICO from an ICO scam.
As time goes by, I'm sure someone will grow better, especially for those who learn from their experiences. in determining projects that want to be followed by a bounty campaign, it may be difficult for those who do not have extensive experience but need to be convinced later you will be able to determine the ICO to be followed by the campaign

It's irrational to think that every ICO is a scam. There are surely many frauds in this sphere but it wouldn't be so popular and developed if there were no good people here.

WELL, not 90% of the bench now. So much was the bench after 2017. When there was an ICO boom, many scammers saw this as a good way to make a lot of money. So they began to make their ICO in advance doomed to failure. At the beginning of 2018, there were about 1,000 such projects. Now they are much smaller because people started to understand what the project is Scam and what is not. And especially because of this market, and a large number of scams, investors are more cautious and invest little, so scams projects right now have little chance. There are just projects that do not collect the soft cover because of the state of the market, but in fact the projects are normal.

Heh. It all depends on your goals. I am sure that many ICOs that now seem fair to us, in fact, simply hide behind the work. But! In fact, there is no work actually.   Grin
Well, if you're just bounty-hunter and want to sell tokens as soon as possible, then even the most scam can give a profit, lol.

Yes, I agree that a lot of scams, and a lot of people have suffered and lost their money, I have one desire that we learn to recognize them.

from the beginning of the year there were a lot of projects of scammers who stole money! the only plus, it led to the fact that now there are ongoing verification of identity! Many projects are also starting to receive official registration in their countries! for such projects began to watch very much! I see that with each passing day - there are fewer and fewer scam projects!

It is quite bad that 90% of ICO have turned out be scam. Nowadays it is seen as an easy way to make way from people by bringing up a crappy project. Only a very few ICO are legit.

No, how can you say that?
Ï have seen a lot of very promising ICOs that change the world. For example PundiX. they are working on their point of sale terminal which will help with crypto adoption!
Only a handful of all existing ICOs, Pundi X is a good project and it will definitely change the future. But there are hundreds of ICOs scam and only want to get money from investors. So now everyone hates the ICO

ICO are real phenomena as for me. Everybody hates them, but they still gather millions in a couple of months. Just imagine, some 5 mln usd is much more than an ordinary person can earn in a lifetime. But for an ICO project it is nothing. Phenomenal)

Yes its true that most of ico are now scamming, if you see carefully any of them aren't coming from any real company. They just creating token, making some false promise. They just come to earn money nothing else. So for ignoring them we have to be very carefully before investing or working in any ico's.

This year the situation is much worse than last year. The number of successful ICO can be counted on the fingers. Just a huge number of fraudulent ICO, as well as projects that immediately die after the ICO.

How can every ICO be scam?? That statement is funny, many ICo's are sCam these days not all... I agree, but there are still genuine ones... A number of them. One just has to be careful before investing in any project, take time to read about it.

This thread seems to be a gathering of paranoids! Why do you call everything a scam? Many projects don't want to deceive people - they are weak! Let's differentiate a scam from a weak project!

Everybody keeps on saying scam scam scam for all of these ICO's. 90% of them are crap, yes. BUT there is the 10% of them, like vector, who are absolutely not scams. They are good projects that will really help the crypto community grow and its not fair to call an ICO a scam until you have actually researched it and you are sure it is a scam.

Just my two satoshis...

No, not all ICO's are scam some ICO's did not reach the soft cap that's why the ICO gets failed and not a scam project. Ofcourse there are some ICO that is scam, they promoting it to get some fund and then they will run with the money. But also there are some good and great ICO's that is successful. Have a bit research about ICO's.
I think some ICOs are not scam in the beginning but after not reaching their goal and gathered few funds. They run to their investors without giving them refund and turning out to be a scam.

Well, I don't know about vector, but the truth is that most ICOs end up being a scam or a total bust due to the unprepared/ unexperienced team or/and a poorly developed business plan, even when the tech part has any hope, it needs to be supported by other areas of the project...
Of course that we can pick half a dozen that are really worth it and that have the possibility to change the future...
With this scenario, ICOs are only for the brave  Grin
