Scam ICO's are everywhere and a lot of people have lost their money from investing in scam ICO's. I believe regulating ICO's will go a long way to remove the fear people have in investing in crypto. In addition, people who scam others should be made to face severe punishment. This will go a long way to prevent others from also scamming people and making a fool out of them.

In my opionion, regulation for ICOs is a good option especially to prevent scam projects. The background and identity of team and developers should be clear and must not have bad track records. With this option, investors and public will see this as a legit project and safe to invest.

If ICO can be regulated into law,is a good development which will bring a level of trust into system, regulation will checkmate new ico and flush those that intend to scam out the system.
I agree , the main thing that in case if the project did not gather that he returned the money , and that most of the projects just disappear

Well ICO regulation will help do away with many scam projects and help bring hope back to investors. When this happens investors will always feel secure to invest booming the market. The only problem is regulation bring some form of centralization which many are not interested in.

This is the one area where regulation makes sense. Too many scams and this will help protect newcomers

If the regulation is made, I think it will have a positive impact. What is certain is that all Crypto activities will be regulated and monitored by the government. So that fraud will slowly disappear and investors will be protected. This will increase investor confidence.

It is good for the investors to have a regulation in terms of the ICO because the investors will get a lower risk of getting scam because from the past, there is a lot of ICOs that turned into scam just after they hit their target of accumulation of funds and that is the reason for creating ICO regulation to lessen that kind of scenario.

The ICO market was not regulated for too long and many investors lost their trust in investing. 2017 we could see the golden age of ICOs and now it is time for upgrade in investing through IEOs. The new model is more secure for the investors.

Agree, but if they haven't been regulated until now is because isn't easy to do it!

Some countries now are fighting against ICOs because lot of them end as a scam and people run way with the profit. The world want regulated ICOs but we don't have the tools for it yet!

i think the drawbacks of regulation are greater than the benefits. regulation will break the decentralization of encryption. regulation will mean taxation.
all of that is important, because where the regulation is held, the portrait of security will be better for investors. guaranteeing investors is one way to make the ICO successful. maybe people will think bad, or too complicated. but that will make ICO more trusted by investors.

If there is a guarantee, it can be ascertained that crypto and ICO will skyrocket, I think it's time for strict regulations to be made to make scammers go from crypto.

When many scam ICOs in market, its bad for cryptomarket image. Investor will think crypto is a buble and scam place. Regulation is good for community because its like another investment market. With regulation from government, scammers must be thinking twice before scamming peoples

I think it is the need of hour where maximum tries to understand it And Open it to the public as well in legal way. If ico get regulated more countries will accept it and it bring more confidence to investor.  Second more Professional will develop to manage the asset or token of different investor. Overall its good for crypto market.

Good for me, so the ICO/project owner will seriously do the project after the ICO success because i saw so many projects after their ICO success, they become lazy and so slow to develop the project. Also investor become safe too because of the regulation.

If the ICO will go regulated then the fund mobilization will be mass adoption by the private company all over the world. But one thing is that who or which country will be the sole responsible for all the regulation of the ICO. As, ICOs are working all over the world it is required the delegates of all economy must bind with a mutual consent and then establish a separate body to formulate the rule and govern it all.

The presence of regulations is certainly very much awaited, I am sure that with regulation it can overcome uncertainties and the number of scam projects, regulation certainly involves the state and we must strive for that.

More and more countries are planning to regulate ICOs. China, Canada, Russia,... I think this in an development nobody can stop. Do you think it is good or bad that ICOs will be more regulated in the near future? What positive and negative influences will it probably have?

I think there will be more investors like professional managed funds or even retirement funds which will invest into ICOs. The prices for ICOs will then become even more expensive and make it more difficult to make profits for small investors.
These is and old Thread but it keeps getting response from fellow forumers, for me Regulating the ICO's are good idea and must be implemented to further restore the Trust and Confidence that was lose because of the scammers who victimized the unsuspected legitimate investors, thats why it needs a regulation so Badly.

Depending on the situation. Crypto currencies are standing for anonymity and to regulate them is nothing else than the opposite of anonymity. I am not a big supporter of KYC as well, but if it helps to eliminate scams from the marketplace, it should be regulated to protect all of us.
