I believe it does when it comes to promotion status specially in the government or any other private entities.  In order for you to hold a high positioon you have to earn a degree for you to qualify. Though there are lots of people tahat may be capable of doing the job without any degree, degree on paper and by record will still ne needed.

If you plan to climb the corporate ladder, you NEED a master degree, because if you don't have it you will be blocked.
If you want an entrepreneurial career... throw to hell degrees and star to make experience :-)
No you don't. Quite a few of the most successful people in the world don't have a degree at all.
I know it but master degree is very important. You will not easy get a job because you don’t have a degree. There are so many jobs but most jobs really want some sort of degree and experience.

You will easily get a job or start your own successful business or freelancing gig if you don't waste your time in university and spend it studying on your own. Meanwhile, if you're lazy in university you won't get anything. Pick your poison. University is alright if you want a lot of free time. But if you want to progress in life, it's a waste of time (unless you want to become a professor).

This is true. But if you compare, on average, a group of people with a certain level of education, whether master's, BA, high school or PhD, those with the highest qualifications come out on top in terms of income, health, and a number of other important correlates.

The problem is that in a lot of top positions in corporate or in public system, a master degree is mandatory, even if it doesn't have a relation with the job.
And, of course, in the academic field you can't do anything without degree.
But, I agree, in business is different.
Every good company will prefer somebody with excessive experience and proven skills over a graduate student. The only question is whether or not you're capable of picking up skills on your own.

A Master Degree is not important to me, and I guess a lot of other people.  There is much in life more important than a qualification, however if you feel it is something you want to do then go for it.  I know of many people who measure well without one.

Do you think that master degree is important? I see that many companies nowadays ask for a master degree but still I know many people who had a job without it. Do you think it is essential?
If you want to have a greater income then the most of the people then you have to invest in education, but at the same time you must take care of your abilities at your working place, be bather day by day.

IMHO it's not, it's skills what is really important in the end

It depends on the course of study. Some discipline requires you to go further like architecture and other environmental courses

There are two motives of formal education.
1. Make you wise (knowledge)
2. Make you worthwhile (earn money for living)

You should take the masters degree if you feel you need to step up these two things. Otherwise you're good.

Yup. Obviously you can get an increased amount of knowledge and skills from a 2-year Masters course. But the big question, which you need to answer is whether it is worth spending two years, for this much skills and knowledge. May be you can spend those 2 years doing something more productive. But then, you need to take the decision.

It depends on what kind of job you are going to take. Many jobs such as developer, sales man, master degree is not a must.
For some jobs, they only open to master or above. Some company may use the master degree as measurement for promotion, but in most of the jobs, a master degree does not mean "you are a master in this area".

For me, I think masters degree is important, in order to have better and stable job, having masters degree is a requirement for some companies and also, studying and graduating with masters degree can give you opportunity to earn higher salary than those who did not study masters degree. Having specialty in a field is also good.

It is important for people who are pursuing a much greater job opportunity. Holding a Masters Degree is one of the hardest privilege a person can get. Just thinking of the money you’ll be spending and the time and effort that you’ll put into it is no joke.
Getting a Master's degree is pretty easy actually. And it's getting easier every year because it's becoming increasingly mandatory.

Personally, to get the knowledge and abilities that you need to do a job, probably you needn´t it. However measure if a person is able or not to do the tasks required to do a job is pretty hard, so a master degree will give certain guarantee to an employer that you will be able to do the job. For that reason, if you get a master degree, you will have more chances to find more jobs, with better wages and better work conditions than without one.
