I've been searching for ICOs for a few days and there seems to be many cases of scams and hacks which kinda scares me. Obviously, there is no 100% certainty which is going to be a successful one but is there any way to identify which ones are at least going in the right direction? The first one I looked at was Mossland's Whitepaper and they seemed good with solid community. Or should I just buy BTC or ETH? Any suggestions and ideas would be very helpful!
Maybe to be more secure you can start with a coin that has been released in the exchange market.

Yes this is a good time to invest now because i believe that this month will be all ICO so why not do your research to get those ICO and join them so you wont waste your time on scam ICO

To find a good ICO at the moment is very difficult. My suggestion is to buy BTC and ETH with 55%/35%. And 10% as a high risk investment in good ICOs like Smart Containers or Welt der Wunder.
If of course you will find a worthy and promising project, then invest! But be careful, there are a lot of scammers now.
Now a lot of strong projects are coming out, especially blockchain which, after entering the exchanges, give a profit of x3-x10, the more the market has started to grow. Anyhow, that is right, if you want to invest in an ICO, you should try to read the project's whitepaper. But I noticed that you are still a newbie. Because of this, I would not advice you to focus on reading whitepapers. You should start with exploring the various possibilities being offered in crypto. Buying Bitcoin and Ethereum should come first before investing in ICOs.

Depends to the ICO , because most of the ICO now are scam and if you invested to the ICO that is scam your money lose. So better if you invest to the ICO you do research because you can know if the project is good or not. Most of the people if they see promising ICP they invest without doing any research so they lose their money.
