I think fake coins are those coins that has value and later on it will pop like a bubble. I would say they are scam rather than fake because money is involved.These coins are mostly HYIP schemes making you invest more for more profjts.
No. As there is fake token can be created on ethereum platform w/ creating new contract address and make same ticker, I thought the fake coins case also like this. Since they are fake, they can't be traded on exchange nor there is no buyer.

Meaningful in the sense that, you do not do peripheral research and say you have done something, for example, by just scanning through and just looking into what the project has to offer, but that the team should be your first priority.
