Agreed. Even bitcoin now are being used for illegal activities. Even terrorist do. The problem lies in how to stop them. This is a mouse and cat game for every government in the world. Criminals will always find ways to exploit of both fiat and bitcoin to their advantage. Terrorist groups sometimes move money via otherwise legal means such as charities, businesses, banks and alternative institutions. Again, the government should make ways to counter this because in the end, we are all victims here.

Indeed, when it comes to illegal activities the will justifies the way, so it is not whether they use USD or bitcoin to achieve their goals they will always find a way, but needless to say that bitcoin has some features that allows them to achieve them in a more convenient way rather than doing money laundry to cover their tracks.

If people can use something as freely available to the best of my knowledge as water for illegal activities, why cant they now use a Fiat that can get them whatever they wanted for illegal means. When it comes to illegal activities when someone is criminal minded, its not about the USD anything whatsoever will be used to achieved his objective even soap. So, using dollars for that kind of person will make the job easier.

Volumes of SilkRoad back then, and the current black markets using Bitcoin and other crypto's as currency, isn't even a tiny dot compared to what level of harm is being done with the USD for example. It's basically an unfair comparison as there isn't anything to compare. But as always, the media knows how to put a twist to it, that Bitcoin is the one that receives the general blame among non Bitcoiners....
