Turns out this will become a professional fight and it will go into each fighters professional career results as well, I did not expected this because it is 100% obvious that it is an exhibition match and nothing more. They are doing this only for the money and nothing more. I get that some fans will want to see something serious, because it has the potential to be a serious fight but to be fair I am definitely certain that we are not going to get a serious fight here, one of them is a youtubers brother and the other is a 50+ year old retired boxer, result shouldn't really matter here.
In any case, there are things that is required when it is professional fight, like medical expert team ready with all the gadgets, so that makes me feel better about this fight for sure.

Perhaps he haven't follow boxing or exhibition matches as we all know that this is not a professional fight and as such, it will not end in 6 seconds because people big money just to see Mike Tyson. And if it ended it 6 seconds, it's going to be one of the biggest scams in boxing.

Whatever you look at it though, even if this is sanctioned as a professional fight, it is still 100% exhibition. A pro fighter, a legend against a glorified Youtuber. That is no match and purely for entertainment purposes only.
Of course, they will have to put some spin on it and supposedly now become a pro fight to hype it. They just want to removed the stigma of Iron Mike vs Roy Jones Jr wherein even if there is judges, the fight was declared a draw.

Yes, it's all over my feeds, both fighters will take this fight seriously but even if this is an exhibition they are still going to hurt each other, both fighters are used to fighting real and knocking out their opponents.
It will benefit Jake Paul because in case he beats Tyson his ranking will increase and the organizations will notice him and give him mandatory opponents so he can rank that could fave the way for him to get the respect that he wants.
But if Tyson beats him up people will look down on Jake Paul and they will just mark him as an exhibition type of guy while Tyson besides the earnings will put another feather in his cap in his illustrious boxing career.

Yeah the new rules have just been published recently. Before those changes the fight was just an exhibition without even judges and no recognition of any boxing organisation.
Still, the fight is a joke and everybody knows it. It will be a little bit of a secret handshake deal where both acknowledge to not hurt or embarrass the other guy.
Tyson has nothing to win here, it's just a pay day. Imagine him losing, even though this fight is just a joke it will still hang like a shadow over his career in my opinion.
Or maybe I am wrong and this fight will be an absolute fight fest with both giving their all. The odds for this happing are very slim though.

if Jake Paul really wants to make a name for himself that garners respect in boxing, he needs to fight actual boxers, so far the majority of his fights are non-boxers.

its just exhibition match, sole purpose is making name and money, i don't see anything more than that, but it might pave the way for jake paul for his future career if he somehow wins, but if he didn't well its just exhibition match.

This is also a surprise for me. I wonder who insisted on converting it from exhibition to pro. Or why they have made such a change? Was it due to low ticket/ppv sales prediction? Because a professional fight sounds more attractive. And it seems that they have changed only name of the fight, while it still has crutches in rules. 2 minute rounds - because Mike cant handle tempo at this age? Or to give Jake extra chance to survive Mikes push?
Yeah, makes me wonder though, in any case, it is will be a pro then people might think that Mike has the advantage? However, the are factor will be again entering the picture as for sure he will have difficulty of surviving the full 12 rounds in this fight.

In terms of PPV numbers and live gates yeah why not? It could be a numbers that can land in the top 5 as far as money generation. Jake Paul doesn't need to make name in boxing though, but if you are referring to exhibitions fights yes, but pro boxing no.
Lol, 6 seconds knockout? that will be the fastest knockout, but I don't think it will be done by Tyson, unless this is a rigged fight. And if you look at the odds, Jake Paul is still the slim favorite. But as boxing fans, we want Tyson to win by knockout, but we will see. Hard to predict what will be the outcome on this fight.

From what I've read this isn't an exhibition match but an actual real professional fight. Who knows what the truth actually is at this point, but that seems to be the big news of the day. That begs the question of who the oldest boxer is to have ever fought in a professional fight all time. I couldn't find any information about anyone over the age of 58 having ever been in a professional boxing match, so I think after this fight Mike Tyson will be one of the oldest to ever do it. He does seem in great shape though. We'll see how it ends for him. Hopefully with a 30 second knockout of Jake Paul in the first round.
ESPN is reporting that it will be sanctioned as a professional fight. They will fight 2 minute rounds instead of 3 minutes and they will use 14-oz gloves, basically sparring gloves. If they need special rules then it clearly shouldn’t be considered a professional fight.
Texas is known for having a very corrupt commission so it doesn’t surprise me they would allow this. This is the same commission that allowed Antonio Margarito to fight when nobody else would license him due to the plaster hand wraps incident. They also barely do any PED testing. I could go on and on with examples of why they’re one of the worst commissions.
Jake is desperate for recognition and validation as a legitimate fighter. I am sure there was some quid pro quo involved for them to allow this complete sham to take place.
