This is what I have in mind although the bitcoin logo is in a square shape instead of a circle.

It is not bad but the color that is used makes the logo not very clear.

This would have been right but for me, it lacks the glow like on the first image although the bitcoin logo is what I have in mind.

These look fun, though it would make it the only fantasy element in a science fiction universe.
Let's see if anything else fantastic crops up and it becomes a thing!

Yes that blade runner vibe is exactly what I would want to see.

And place twats like Yogg and scammers behind bars in a booth

I  am a newbie but the graphical representation will give me a clearer understanding of the forum's exciting features. I like your suggestion of Scammers behind bars, it gives the impression that the wrong people in digital space don't go unpunished it is not just peculiar to the forum. Sometimes a book requires graphics to entice a reader and I am glad @ 1Dq Artwork project will bring that uniqueness and insights of Pictorial representation as well.

I'm glad to hear this artwork will also help, not just entertain members!

1.) How to visualize a spammer?

something like a disorganized puzzle that when rearrange or looked from an angle spells the word spam while maybe, few names of some well known bitcointalk spammers could be written faintly underneath the area where the spam is to be represented.
2.) How to visualize merit?
a golden coin in form of a medal with a +1 inscribed on the top would go well to describe it. And if you have any intention of representing any sort of user rank in the art, multiple stars on the centre of the coin could be used for highly ranked users while +1 wil be for newbies to full members.

3.) Who to paint as main character in the front right (if anyone)?
Satoshi could be painted holding the Bitcoin whitpaper and reading the [newspaper where BTC was first mentioned and other important collectibles could be placed on a book shelf by him and the names of those collections and possibly dates written on each of them while a representation of thymos and merit source drawn close to each having Big eyesand jointly watching over the forum.

1.) The puzzle that reads "spam" from an angle (which we can see) sounds like a fun idea, I'll try to implement it somehow!
Not sure if any naming spammers is worth it, it might seem like a victory to have made it into a painting...

2.) That's another new idea for Merit!

3.) I could try placing the article somewhere around Satoshi if space and context allow it in the end!
And Theymos to join Satoshi too.

Toxic fluid barrel carrying robots is an idea now.
Another very different idea for merit, great haha
Wizardoshi?  Cheesy
Yes, hahaha. That's what I am thinking which is why I posted it. A robot dumping toxic fluid should be comparable to spam posts. It is kind of an additional to the names that every forum members know. As we all know, there's Satoshi, faketoshi and now wizardtoshi or wizardoshi (in your post quoted above). This is what I found searching the internet which is close to what I imagine about the wizard.

This is what I have in mind although the bitcoin logo is in a square shape instead of a circle.

I would say satoshi would like in a form of like a entity overseeing the towers from above with his hands in hugging the buildings or just looking down on it, while theymos will be like a game master below satoshi, while the spammers are like scavenger robots with ragged clothings, merits are like a charging station of energy to get power , visualizing rankings of members.

I like the idea of these important personalities somehow working together!

I'll wrap today with three questions for you:

1.) How to visualize a spammer?

2.) How to visualize merit?

3.) Who to paint as main character in the front right (if anyone)?

3. The main character can be Satoshi because he is the founder but Hal Finney and Laszlo (the Pizza Dude) also deserve the place if you don't want to give this place to Satoshi. I know the first trade was not the trade of Laszlo but most people think he is the one to make the first trade which made BTC more famous among people. Hal Finney because he is one of those people who are gone and was with Satoshi. Theymos also deserves the place but you already kinda wrote his name in the back section.

2. To visualize the merit of this forum, you can simply make a coin like BTC mean in golden color, but if you will be making smaller-sized icons of it then people can mistake it with BTC so change the color for it, maybe like Green Merit coin (M+ written on it). + it would be great to add with the icon or symbol because it will clearly convey the idea.

1. If you want to indicate a spammer, scammer, or someone who doesn't act according to the rules of the form among the crowd of people in the front section, then I will say keep them dark if you are not planning to keep other characters dark, if not? Then, keep him/her dark for the whole person and use the error symbol in the middle. But if you will edit the error symbol (the triangle in red color, with a transparent background so it shows the person's colors as background or I should say, a simple triangle with red boundaries and scammers written in the middle. What you say.

Just shared my thoughts I hope you won't mind them, and I kinda enjoyed sharing these, I hope I will be of some help. Thanks.

Will check out Finney and Laszlo a bit, thanks for the tip.

There are a couple of very different ideas for merit now, this might end up as contest in the end haha.

Making these characters dark is a interesting idea, the triangle one might be added somewhere for laughs too, we'll see!

There's something missing on these robots.

What kind of future is this if a BTC-machine robot doesn't accept payment in BITCOIN! Cheesy
Your canvas needs improvement. Wink In general, the entire city of the future should be strewn with similar signs: "BITCOIN accepted here".

I get where you're coming from however I have to agree with krogoth:

There are no Bitcoin accepted here signs cause it's the future and Bitcoin is accepted everywhere. That's like saying dollars accepted here today in stores.
It is assumed that Bitcoin is the main currency and no need for signs since it's mainstream

BTC Let's keep our heads high! BTC

1.) How to visualize a spammer?
Robots would be fine. Robots that are carrying barrel and are pouring the contents into the ground or to sewer. Like dumping toxic waste which I think can be compared to spammers who only spam the forum.

2.) How to visualize merit?
For me, it would be respect where two people or robots shaking hands where other people or robots raising their hands to shake but no one shakes their hand. It could also mean that those who are shaking hands have done something good for the community or having contributed to the community and it is also mean achievements.

3.) Who to paint as main character in the front right (if anyone)?
I am not sure if it's good or not but here's my idea, my main character would be a wizard casting spell where a hard disk/hard drive can be seen between the hands of the wizard or a Bitcoin logo in a circle between the hands. Like gathering a ball of energy between the hands.

I believe @bitboy deserves to be in the painting, he created the orange Bitcoin logo that we all still use today after 14 years: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/more-bitcoin-logos-buttons-and-also-some-other-graphics-1631

It's a cool part of bitcoin/bitcointalk history.

VISUAL UPDATE #2

I began the stylistic transformation into vintage sfi-fi atmosphere.

This is just concept art and anything can still change!

We have entered project's second phase, where most of the exciting back and forth between my concept art and your commenting happens!

The composition is now even more obviously divided into three planes; the back, the middle and the front.

In the back stands the main BTCtalk tower from which bridges, towers and other connections expand outward connecting everything.
The BTC is lit with warm light that could be made with real golden leafs in the final canvas artwork.
There is also the "15" for our anniversary and below nicknames of Satoshi and Theymos, two of the big names that could be named there as pillars of BTCtalk.

In the middle are connections bridges from back to front, here there's space for various forum activities and enterprises both from past and present.

I enlarged the front part so I can paint in many specific details that have already been discussed and many more here.
Right now it's all very abstract, so I can transform it into anything, using very different shapes and colors.

Why vintage sci-fi style?
Through several comments it was made clear that to many members this place feels nostalgic.
One reason is it's text based, the other the fact that forums had their golden era years ago, then there's the almost forgotten feel of making the world better...
It all feels like a retro futuristic utopia in the best way, because we are part of it!

A quick disclaimer.
I don't use AI to generate images and I don't intend to.
I don't like how most of it is used and I rather go a step further back into classic painting.
Not that I hate people using it ort I'll never use it, I just feel it gets toxic and ruins things pretty fast.

I'll wrap today with three questions for you:

1.) How to visualize a spammer?

2.) How to visualize merit?

Sorry, I don't have any ideas to put out in my mind, only the name Satoshi Nakamoto came to mind so that it could be included in the project.

Already on it!  Cool

First of all, I want to congratulate all the artistic work that @1Dq has done.
It was a shame that I was not able to enter an earlier phase of the initiative. But there's still time.   Wink

Thank you and you're definitely not too late.

I imagine this brainstorming + sketching taking at least another month from here.

Looking at your sketch, which looks good to me, I would make the following suggestion:
On the left side of the tower, you have the forum timeline. On the right side, you could create another timeline, linked to mining.
Every 4 years, the reward decreases, until the last new BTC mined. So, there could be some kind of column/tube or like an elevator outside the tower that is going up to the last mined "sat".
I don't know if in 5 years' time you're thinking about creating new art for your 20s. But this element could be a dynamic element that would accompany future arts.
Now, it was time to figure out where this "timeline" would fit, whether in the back plane or the middle plane.

This is a great idea and I'll try to already work it into the next concept art!

As for already planning a new version in 5 years to link this artwork to - I love ideas like that.
Since we already have the 10th anniversary artwork, I could link this one to it with some element and leave something open for the 20th anniversary!

I'm already coding these artworks together with my unique code (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.63828817), so this is just one more connection in the art blockchain!

I'll wrap today with three questions for you:

1.) How to visualize a spammer?

2.) How to visualize merit?

3.) Who to paint as main character in the front right (if anyone)?

1) A spammer would be like a beggar. Not just one, but a group of beggars around a drum to gain access. This bottle was "SPAM".

2) I think you could create something like a merit store. Let's just say it was the gadget guy who sells all kinds of trinkets. And next to him, we would see someone disruptive who would simulate merit.

3) It would be "Master Yoda", but in this case Satoshi. He watched everything from under his cloak, but no one could watch him. Maybe too much Star Wars... sorry. Tongue

Cool ideas, love the simulate merit character!

I think if it will be possible, it would have been okay if we can incorporate the global influx of new people in the forum from different parts of the world into the art which should reemphasize the increasing level of global Bitcoin adoption. I believe the daily influx of people into the forum is a vital aspect of the forums growth and it's good they are also represented in the art.

Maybe something like a tiny pathway that springs from a part of the art and increases to the centre representing newbies that joins the forum with a naive and almost empty information about Bitcoin but grew up in Thier knowledge into being comfortable at the centre of the forum. My explanation might not hit the detail of what I mean but I hope it helps.

Awesome - I can easily imagine newbies as very plain looking bots, while older members look more upgraded and patchy!

I'm not going to make major observations about the previous phases, since update #2 is actually closer to the ideas I had when I started reading about the initiative.

VISUAL UPDATE #2

I began the stylistic transformation into vintage sfi-fi atmosphere.

That would be my first suggestion, I think it will present a very different and innovative idea, very interesting.

1.) How to visualize a spammer?

It could be a robot that carries a lot of paper & wants to share with all the robots there.

2.) How to visualize merit?

It could be stars, have you ever watched Yu-Gi-Oh! anime?

You can visualize it with for example 2 robots interacting with each other, one receiving stars and the other giving them, that's what's in my mind so far.

Cool ideas, noted.

*image of 10 years of constructing the future*

I just notice that the design is futuristic but the forum UI design is still design. I’m not sure whether it’s good or bad but there’s already robots out there but still the forum version is a bit outdated even on our current time.

Is it possible to display a futuristic forum concept which everyone is looking forward as major update to the existing version of the forum?

Above design is from 2019 and the person using BTCtalk is Theymos, scrolling through his artwork competition thread above illustration was a part of!

This "old" UI will serve perfectly because of our next idea by pinggoki:

I don't know if this has been discussed already but it would be nice to change the post that the robot is checking out on the tablet, I think that it should be the first post of Satoshi that's in there or something like that, would be nice because that means that while we're celebrating something, we're also looking back at something which I think would be a nice touch.

This feels super obvious and now ties everything together, thanks!

I think pinggoki's post above is a better idea, instead of looking forward to an update which has been
on the horizon for a long time and might not arrive it would be nice to display Satoshi's first post which
it looks like Idq has already included!

Welcome to the new Bitcoin forum!

Yes. Thanks for the link, as we will include Satoshi in the artwork, so can we include his thread in our brainstorming!
