Thank you for your kind words everybody!
It's congratulations to all of us together, as I couldn't possibly have done this on my own!
This is how many of us (45!!) participated in this project: Alright, back to business.
I made test prints in two sizes to get a better feel of how the details come out.
One was a slightly larger A3 and the other in the same size as the canvas (60x80cm, 22,6″x31,4″)
This is how they all look together:
Besides a couple of tweaks here and there in the area of detail and hues, they both actually look pretty good, but also aren't ideal.
The smaller one is be a bit too condensed, and all the detail kinda melds together from afar.
The larger on the other hand is almost perfect, but is a bit out of the standard sizes for both US and EU (where most of us live and buy frames).
So I did a bit more thinking and research and came up with one size that will probably be perfect for everybody. The new print size is 20"x24" or 41x51cm, which fits perfectly into standard US frames, and will probably also fit EU frames, but in worst case, it will just need a bit of trimming of the edge.
This size will expose all details while keeping the entire image a comfortable fit for everybody.
I intend to make a new test first thing Monday morning.
Please let me know if you agree with this size or if you have your own suggestions and wishes for your wall! The next topic is presentation.
I put a slim black frame around the image which gave me the possibility to add its title at the bottom.
This is how it came out (note it's a test, not the final version image):
It also solves the problem of the scaling, because the print is slightly wider than the canvas and leaves a bit of extra space on top/bottom.
Should I also add the year and/or something else?
And should there be a "THE" in the beginning of the title? The last thing today is how I planned to number the limited run prints.
Near the artwork code is the empty [ ]/100 bracket where each print will get its consecutive number handwritten with brush.I'll start marking them from 1... and make several print runs (a bit too costly for me to print all 100 in the start) until all 100 are sold.
This will make all prints unique and even more interesting as collectible items for this years Anniversary!
Oh and while we're focused on the code, you might notice the abbreviated names of the top 20 most deserved members of this project. They were chosen by system of how much merit they received in the threads, how many posts they made, the DM's I received and wether they created new threads for the project in local boards.
I hope I didn't leave something out, but I tried to be very meticulous.
Last thing today is another question.
What do you suggested would be the best method of uploading a high-res image on BTCtalk for anyone to download for free?As promised in the very beginning of the project, this is a project by the community for the community and so this should also be an integral part of the endgame!
Looking forward to your comments and suggestions and I will be back with updated prints asap!Cheers.
