however in this art work that place that shines so bright has something written on it but is not showing very well which is the B, so I think you should make the B to show very clear so even people don't don't see clearly can see it and notice what is written there is B.
And I also think there should be a symbol of Bitcoin on this great art work in other to represent what the art is all about.
what you're referring to as the shiny bright B is what's used to depict Bitcoin sign and based on what he might be trying to achieve, everything should fit in well when other element are incorporated completely in the design. From the last virtual update that was posted prior to the actual painting, the element around the Bitcoin sign which includes the 15, different boards, Bitcoin core and 2024 and the flags of the different countries in the forum. I believe after all those details comes in, things will get a fantastic shape.

With regards to your question on the most important OG and most important Bitcointalk member list, I'm not sure I understand it well but I hope others have an answer to them.

Today, I'm dropping the current state of the artwork and one pretty important question.

Disclaimer:
Sorry for the bad quality of most of these photos.
I have ok lighting for actual painting, but because of water and medium I use, the surface is very reflective.
This means I need to use dim scattered lighting in order to get somewhat decent shots, but they are far from perfect.

VISUAL UPDATE #12

Everything is being upgraded and some details have already popped up.

From here on I'm going all in on forming shapes and details.

I still accept private suggestions for Easter egg details!

I got sent a good suggestion about the OG list on the top-right part of the canvas.
Instead of using any one particular list (like top posts, top merited, top ...), I'd rather have a good old democratic vote to decide the top X.
So today's question is:

What's YOUR TOP X most important /most OG/ most popular BTCtalk member list?
It can be completely subjective based on your own personal value system.

I'll be back in a few days with another update and will keep track on your answers!

Cheers!

Wow this art work is beautiful, you have a great sense of creativity, I love your works, however in this art work that place that shines so bright has something written on it but is not showing very well which is the B representing Bitcoin, so I think you should make the B to show very clear so even people don't don't see clearly can see it and notice what is written there is B.

Satoshi Nakamoto, Sirius and Theymos are already present, but you can still list them.

Today I'm here with a couple of wip details on the developing artwork.

VISUAL UPDATE #11

View on the developing BTC from below...

...that just got overpainted a bunch of times so the surface will be smoother for the gold.

Do you like having the "Off topic" board scattered among a group of bots like that?   Cool

Since there was the question of detail, I wanted to make a demo of what we should work for us.

Well, that's all for now, but expect another visual update soon!

Have a nice day everyone.

Excellent job you are doing, congratulations.
Answering your question, it is already difficult to answer +10 years later. But, I have the idea of having read some news or article about the creation of bitcoin. That was in 2011, but although I found the idea interesting, I didn't get involved.
Later, about 2 years later, I read an article about Bitcoin again, but this time I decided to explore the topic more, and of course reliable information was only here on the forum.

Thanks!
Was is a online or off-line article?

It was an online article in some blog or online newspaper. I don't remember where it went. Someone wrote about Bitcoin and it gradually caught my attention.

Nice work so far though I'm considering how the size of the material you're drawing the art on will affect certain details of the work. Everything that's on the conceptualization art is important and needs be represented visibly in the final painting. I just hope the size you're working on will will give allowance for all the details.

Good question.
I also asked myself that same question before I selected this size just to be sure.
I believe the texture and size are both perfect for the job and all detail will come through just as I expect it to.
There is one thing though - I love the feel of real materials and texture.
Especially in the era when AI is threatening to do all the visualization I want to stand my haptic artistic ground and let my process show its marks.
This is why while everything discussed will be rendered on the canvas, it will be obvious it's a classic painting with texture showing.

....What path (news, X, Reddit, friend, family...) led you to discover The Bitcoin Forum?

for mine, it's through a friend who is a course mate in school and was already into crypto and had joined the forum at the time. I got to learn some basic things about crypto from him and he recommended I joined the forum and read some threads and also ask questions in areas I might have experienced some deficulty in. It was an unplanned journey that has yielded a lot of exposure in this digital space.

This kind of survey will be best achieved through a general news broadcast that will take all users to a thread where they just have to tick an already created pool containing these options (i.e x, Reddit, friends, family etc.)

I also had a similar into to Bitcoin - via two different persons.

I wish we could do the News thing, but I really rather wouldn't bother Theymos with this as I'll ask him to put this project on the News when it finishes anyway.   Grin
Besides the info we'll harvest here there's probably already threads about this I can check.

I keep updating the painting in the Portuguese language tab and it really is incredible to see all the details of the image being placed on the screen!
About the question, around 2015~2016 I learned about Bitcoin but it was only in 2017 that I delved deeper into the subject and I wanted to find more information and I ended up here. Since then I created my account and I'm here, although I came back after a long time I'm still going strong now!

Good job on the updates, I just saw it today - Thank you very much!
By "delved deeper" you mean Googled Bitcoin and it got you here pretty fast?

The painting of The Bitcoin Metaverse canvas continues.

VISUAL UPDATE #10

This is how the canvas looks on my easel.

DEVELOPING THE COMPOSITION

I'm continuing work on the entire composition.
Some things have already taken a slightly different turn, as I naturally develop segments of the artwork as I work.
One such improvement is at the bottom left where now incoming newbie members will have dedicated pipes that led them to the forum.
It also evoked a new question from me, following below.

The symbolic value of colors has also been upgraded and now serves a logical system:

Blue = Wisdom
Yellow/Gold/Orange = Bitcoin
Green = Positive/Trust
Red = Negative/Alarm
Violet/Brown/Grey = Neutral

The colors sometimes blend or fight and it gives a additional flavor to everything going on.

.....

Firstly op  I will always appreciate every bit of this art project you have started because it open my eyes to see the expression of ideas and emotions though physical medium of art.
So back to the question about the time spent on the project was worthy it honestly speaking OP you should take all the time you want for a professional job well done
About the size I think I will go with your decision's for now the size should not be a big deal here.

Thank you #1.
I want to get the size/s perfect, but people being flexible also helps!

You did a very good job here and I really appreciate your creativity, talking about size of print that will be best for me I think my choice may not appear that good when used I love art but I don't have this sense of creation however I will love 70x90cm because I think this beautiful art will be more beautiful when the size of it is very big.
I'm a lover of art and I see a lot of art, the beauty of such art like these is always more out when when it's more bigger.
My thought.

Thank you #2.
I'll consider also making some prints slightly larger if people want them big, no problem.

Very good stuff so-far.
"In the brainstorming thread you mentioned:
"Make sure to include some famous advertising like foxpup merit cycling, chipmixer / blender advertisments."
I wanted to ask you, how you think, this could be visualized. Are there any threads where I can read a little and inform myself."
Chipmixers are more of a darker side of the forum and have been delegated to even darker areas of the internet.
foxpup is the merit cycling cult / gang. You will see those guys all-over this forum at all times.
The blender adverts are here, they can be found. People trying to gain advertising for their schemes.

Thank you #3.
I wonder if I could then place Chipmixers (and Blender adds) into the darkest corner of the artwork (top left)?

VISUAL UPDATE #9

I love making time lapse videos so this is how it begins...

And this is the current state.

PAINTING FIRST STEPS

I set everything up and first did the drawing of the perspective and basic shapes with my pencil.

Then I painted everything in shades of blue to give the image its initial atmosphere.

This also began developing space and light hierarchy.

.....

This was the first step of PHASE 3 of the project.

It'll take me some time (30-50 hours, meaning around 10-14 work days) to get anywhere concrete.

I'll continue posting work in progress updates for you.

As as shapes and colors are properly formed we can start discussing possible alterations.

I might also have some questions for you that pop up in the painting process.

In the meantime, I will still receive your Easter egg suggestions for the artwork (I already got some very nice ones).

I'm leaving with one question today.

What size of print would be best for you?

For orientation, the canvas is 60x80cm, 22,6″x31,4″.

I can probably prepare them in more than one size, but it'll help knowing what size/s is/are most desirable.

Brush calls, later.  Grin

This is the point where I have to say well-done for  the good work you've done.. It's amazing to know that we're part of this journey and seeing the little contributions we've made that has birthed this virtual makes a lot of sense to me. Weldone for using your talent to help the forum.
We're surely on track and maybe as we get into the next phase thier will be areas we will have to make our contributions to and we won't fail to do that but for now everything looks perfect.
The lighting definitely made the whole painting more interesting. Congratulations on the excellent work so far! I can't wait to see the digital version on screen! I'm waiting for the first images!
Once again, excellent work.

Thank you all for these and other positive comments!
Keep following the development of this project as soon the first photos of painting on the canvas will arrive!

The most interesting aspect of your design is that it is clear and anyone can easily read the storyline just by looking at the painting. You have done excellently well. I figured out that you have your social media accounts active but am not certain about you having your own personal/portfolio website. Dont you think you need one? Apart from your art work on the forum at least you can reach out to more persons who are outside the forum and more interested in your work
If you are interested we could make a good team, ill assist with the website development.

I've considered setting up a webpage for a while now, but for the moment dismissed it.

Reason is, I'm currently focusing all my Bitcoin art on this forum and it fits the concept to have a thread as my gallery.

I'll let you know in case I need your service in the future, thanks for the offer!

I have used X (and before Twitter) for some of my promotion, but I think it never got very far.

This is the final update of the conceptual phase of The Bitcoin Metaverse project.

VISUAL UPDATE #8

I went a bit further with the style enhancing the colors and lighting.

LIGHTING AND COLOR ENHANCEMENT

By adding light and dark to certain areas I gained more depth and made the scene more dramatical.

Enhancing color made it more obvious how different areas work symbolically.

It also helps me define values for the canvas.

They are right now too exaggerated and I'll tone them down in the final version.

But I left it shining for this stage because it also looks fun.

Again, I'd like to state that this is still concept art and the final version on canvas will take a different, more painterly and finished look.

Take Bitcollector as example for the difference between the digital concept art and the canvas version:

.....

This was the final step of PHASE 2.

At this point I want to give my gratitude to everybody that contributed in this and other threads, connected to this project!

You are great and helped with a lot of detailed information and links to other interesting content on BTCtalk.

You also answered my questions here and via DMs and hyped this project around - Thank you all very much!

I'd also like to thank Theymos for getting this project on the news and got us the next level of exposure!  Cool

This is where we enter PHASE 3 of the project.

It's where I start painting the actual artwork, updating you regularly.

We continue promoting the project to all interested, especially on Btctalk.

Suggestions for improvements are still welcome, though it's the less and less possible to change things over progress of painting .

I start my work with acrylic colors on canvas in the upcoming week.

I will photo document each step of the way continuing regular updates in this thread.

This process will hopefully take two months (I'll do my best to give it all of my spare time).

This means we are 100% on track and I am super hyped for this phase, as this is what I love doing most - PAINTING!  Grin

I will ask you to continue following my progress and contributing with comments.

Every productive idea is welcome and I'll try to reply to all of them.

I'd also like to remind everyone that at the end, the artwork will get its own unique code.

In it the first three symbols of members that have been most active and useful will be included and become part of Bitcoin art history !

Now I need to go pick the right canvas and select the best brushes for the job.  Cool

Cheers!
