Litecoin is officially dead, why you may ask?

What Litecoin used to offer:

ASIC Resistance
GPU Resistance
2.5minute blocktime

What Litecoin now offers:
2.5minute blocktime

Basically, Litecoin is worth less than Blackcoin, Netcoin, OompaLoompaCoin, heck, practically anycoin that has a faster blocktime and Any other feature... Litecoin offers absolutely nothing over what 99% of these alt coins offers, even the worst alt coin offer more innovative features than Litecoin. And to those litecoin bagholders, who say that "Litecoins age and adoption" is something it offers, that's not true..There are NO reputable stores Worldwide that accept Litecoin, not one.

Verdict: Litecoin is dead, it hasn't been updated in years, it's a practically abandoned coin. I'm gonna feel really sorry to all the litecoin bagholders that are still "HODLING" when Litecoin reaches $1, 50 cents, 10 cents etc.

Lite coins today is still profitable and it is next to ethereum coins, I do not invest on lite coins but sometimes i am hesitating if i should because there is a growth in its value even if its slow. Those who monitor the market daily will know that it is not dead.

Just came back to see that it was, again and again one of the many FUD post of this website.
Nothing is dead untill it's dead. In the crypto crazyness, where everything is pumping on the long term, I don't see how a really strong coin might disappear like that Cheesy

A simple post can't make a coin fall back there are too many investor in crypto currencies today...
Unfortunately, we will have again and again some threads like this, and it will never stop.

Refresh my memory... How many times now has Litecoin been "officially dead"?

With no developers, no new content added, a dying community, and getting destroyed by ASIC's. Litecoin's 9 lives have run up.

I wonder though, does LTC really need any more features? The presence of ASICs is going to make it quite interesting. Will the network start to centralize? Will Wall St. Want a #2? Remember, even with BTC T 600 bucks app., we are VERY early adopters.

Basically, I'm saying we don't know. I still have 1/3 of my position in it as when we broke .02 I saved what profits I had and rolled 1/2 that into XMR. The alts are nice in this way as you can (still) move things around with no tax implications. Another reason LTC is nice to have.

I get the feeling that when we look back on this time, we are just going to laugh at some of what we thought.
We are still in the womb.

From page 3 of this thread, 3 1/2 years ago... feels good to say
I told you so...

The founder of litecoin already sold his all litecoins in the market but it doesn't mean that he is leaving and the litecoin will be left as a dead coin because he said that he will be focusing on developing litecoin and he will do his best to just help litecoin to get back to the previous highs which is very promising and i believed in litecoin since it is like the back up of bitcoin.

The Litecoin technology is really a bit behind, and the founder has sold all Litecoin, which worries me, so I sold all of the Litecoin.

I think that litecoin has a great future. It is silver. one of the competitors of bitcoin. I think it will show itself more.

Well, it's true that Litecoin is silver to Bitcoin's gold, but the way I see it, is that Litecoin will complement the pioneer cryptocurrency rather than becoming a rival or competitor. While Bitcoin has been struggling to reach consensus for SegWit adoption, Litecoin has managed to adopt it first meaning that it has a well unified community than the former. Also, Litecoin has faster transaction speeds, and cheaper fees than BTC, making it quite attractive for micropayments.

Given the level of attention that LTC has received lately, i'd say that it is far away from becoming dead anytime soon. It will continue to receive improvements and support from its users and developers, making it stand among other altcoins as a solid cryptocurrency for many years to come.

Nevertheless, Litecoin has been one of the oldest altcoins in existence, making it one of the strongest cryptocurrencies in terms of adoption and hashrate. Just my thoughts Grin

It's far away from being dead, but the thing is it's not gonna pioneer over anything anymore, which is exactly why it's not so great as an investment. Especially now that crypto space has been filling up with lots of new, exciting stuff.

I don't have a cent in Litecoin, but I find it funny how few years ago they "officially" called it dead and its still around today.

And I've checked when did this thread started and it was 2014  Grin. I don't have Litecoin either and hasn't research it yet but I find Litecoin worth investing these days.

we could see in 2018 a slight move or increased market cap in litecoin because of its speed of transactions and low fees, something bitcoin is struggling with?
