Basically I don't mind if I had taken a break or not from gambling since I don't really make it as a habit. Maybe 5-10 days break from gambling, that is if I have no extra money for it. Since gambling is not my priority, I somehow managed to take a break from it every now and then.

My longest break was 4 years, from 2004 until 2008.

In 2004 i lost decent amount of money in short period of time. I was on a winning streak for something like 2 weeks, i simply couldn't miss anything. As i was winning more money, my bets were increasing. Things escalated quickly, eventually i ran out of luck and i lost everything i won up until then, and shit load more of my own money, and that thought me valuable lesson. Never again i gambled big amounts, now i just play it casually.
That's a luck trap. Shocked If feel what things were running on your mind after losing everything, you may have end up with profits if you stopped at the right time but that is not in our hand. But how did you get back into gambling after four years?

It's hard to take a break from gambling if it's become a habit, what's your Longest Break You Have On Not Gambling, in my case my longest days of break from gambling is 30 days when I take a vacation from a place when there are no casinos, and no internet connection.
I always observed my break in gambling or soccer betting at the end of all european league that is towards the middle of may annually being an ardent soccer lover I have interest in prediction of soccer games especially EPL where I can easily predict some games although I am not a gambling addict even as an habit because I am always cautious of my stakes.
Sports betting is skill based gambling. Even if you were an addict to it or played this a lot, there is nothing wrong. As you are a big fan of soccer and hold a sound knowledge regarding teams, you can easily predict the outcomes of matches. With this, you can win bets too. Still if you are not involved in risking big money, it is appreciated. Make bets for fun purpose only. This is the right way to gamble.

I managed to break from gambling sites for more than 1 year. That happened from the beginning of 2017 until mid-2018. Because I had other activities and I also participated in many bounty projects at that time. So there is no time at all to play gambling. Then I started to be very active and now I try to be able to wd every month from the gambling site that I join

I have also break from gambling for the past year, even though I have been gambling for a long time. but I gambled due to knowing bitcoin, gambling using bitcoin was very fun, I break because Directbet was closed. but on the other hand, I like to break from gambling, because I can be more effective at doing something more positive than just gambling.

When I gamble and try to take a break from gambling, it's hard to leave because all I think about is pursuing profit and profit. I was only able to stop when there were urgent things like site maintenance, family events and that's when I stopped forced.

I can't stay away from gambling. My life now depends on gambling. Night or day I always play gambling. I asked for advice so that I could live to stay away from gambling.Because I have lost some of my loved ones starting from my wife who left me and my children have also left me.
Well if that's the case bro you lose someone that important to you then you should or this is the time that think over and over if you should continue playing gambling well there's only two result, first if you stop and prevent yourself from playing then there will be a new chance for you to fix your life and bring back the persons that important to you and start a fresh new start, second if you keep on playing because of addiction as deeper and deeper like a deep-sea more likely maybe it's will become too late for you to get on top of that see and you will only feel and see the darkness and eventually become lonely for your whole life. I'm not scaring you, man, but it's the reality, I know it's hard to stop then if you can't stop by yourself then find someone that could truly help you and a reason to stop which is your family.

Right dude, it seems like he is already at a very high level of gambling addiction, if it continues then it will have a negative impact on him and those closest to him. There have been many bad things in my region that have arisen from gambling addictions, from theft, divorce, murder, it has all been caused by those who sought capital to gamble.

well I hope also that he is able to find good people who can guide him to the right path and leave gambling.

I am not fully into gambling. I gamble every now and then but with very moderate amounts. I play dice and place bets but not regularly as well. But I guess it does not take more than a month in between gambling sessions. It might take one or two weeks sometimes.

I started gambling at 18 & to be honest I don’t think I’ve had a single month since then where I haven’t placed at least one bet. The longest without gambling is during various 2 week holiday breaks & that’s it.

if he did not listen to those people near him personally then how can a random posters like us will be his pick?no he is the only one who can help himself as nothing we can do but post here, but the decision is from him for sure.
You have a point with that but sometimes these people listen to random people on internet if it's really extreme on their part. And it has not been answered yet if he followed to those people that advised him before.

Yes, there are types of people who actually listen to some stranger and absorb their advice, those people sometimes have a psychological disorder where they prefer to listen to other people than those people near them.

he can win them back if he wants to because the wife and children is only looking for him to be progressive and provider and not this kind of attitude in which pure gambling and i am sure the family is starving because of this stupidity.
The solution could be him leaving gambling for real but it's up to him on how he can show his willingness in front of his children and wife.
That's his only choice if he did not want to lose even his wife and children.
He should accept the fact that gambling is not really for him.

I think it was almost about 6-7 Months since I last gamble .
And I think this is the longest so far last time was just about a couple of months but I would try to resist gambling for a year or even quit on it and never come back again.

If you can manage to do it would be amazing thing as many could not resist and come back again in gambling and play it . If you have control then it is fine to gamble but if you cannot control then you might end up losing lot of things in your life which you will regret later .

it's difficult if you are addicted to gambling, in my view so that you can take a break from gambling must change the gambling habit by way of vacation, traveling, doing sports, playing games or trading.

It must be difficult in the beginning but if we start to be happy with our new game, then gambling will disappear by itself.

I think my longest break in gambling is 3 months because I have been busy by that time from my work and my family, but it didn't bothers me when I'm not playing gambling for a while because I don't consider gambling as a habit, I only consider gambling as a leisure time or for entertainment. I think it is a bad if you consider gambling as a habit because you could lose all of your assets or you could get bankrupt when you get addicted to it.

It has been a while since I have been away from any sort of gambling or trading for that matter. I generally put my money on G-table on weekends and live a serviceman life on weekdays. So I suppose the longest break I have taken would be about 20 days when I was away for a vacation in northern hills of Europe.

It is all about letting yourself breath some fresh air, I mean don't stay in just one place that stinks that what's made your love once left you, take your time to have a break, think about what you should prioritize in life, and that is your family, always listen to them because they know what is the best for you, I bet they've told you a lot of times that they are going to leave you if you don't quit gambling and in your case, it looks like you've chosen gambling over your family, that was a very bad decision for you.

However, you could always change things if you want to, you could win them back more than you wanted to win back your profits in gambling, your family is your investment, because gambling won't be there for you to take care of you when you're sick, when you're old, but your family will, so apologize to them and let them see that you are sincere on winning them back by quitting gambling totally this time.

I'm not into gambling but I have some clients and classmates who are Reay into gambling, if they don't gambling virtually due to low internet they will find way to play even around their vicinity. Familiar with tong-its, they will play it anywhere as long as they have time, they consider it past time that they bring cards everywhere or they will buy cards since it's too popular in our country many stores sell it.

Being busy at work, I didn't play gambling for a long time. It takes almost 20 days because of the hectic schedule I need to sacrifice my hobbies just for financial problem and also to earn more money for my needs to survive in this world or this kind of society. Still, my friends always bring cards just for playing blackjack just for fun, and also, if we want some thrill, we are adding money for making the game more intense.

Well, it is really hard to not gamble especially if gambling is a part of your day and it will not be complete without making any bets or gambling related. I think that the longest I have is a week. Since I am not that addicted to gambling anymore, I could make these rest days sometimes, most of the time, I will be breaking that week in 3 days or something.

If you are already playing gambling, and this is part of your daily routine, I think still satisfy your self just for playing for a while because sometimes it causes some distraction. If you change your hobbies immediately may affect you mentally and attracts you more to craving to play more games.

for what particular reason that you wanted to quit gambling?since its clear that you cana void playing for months?

while i respect you decision yet i find you responsible gambler in which very rare now,so quitting was not necessary because this can be a place for fun and not just for money.

Maybe it's about 1-2 months I break from gambling. I don't feel it's too hard to take a break from gambling for a while because I don't addict to gambling, so, at that time, I can quickly leave gambling for some time. But after that, I come back to gambling, but not every week because I want to prevent myself from using my time for gambling only. And when I get a vacation, I don't touch my laptop or browse the internet because that will makes me cannot enjoy my holiday.
Good that you aren't addicted that high to go out of control. Myself have tried several times, but the loss I experience everytime makes me try to recover it back. After a long realized the loss that I have experienced is big, and by that time I need to decide whether I should continue or not. In that situation I gave promise to my girlfriend, and stopped gambling for about a month and further with her permission started to gamble with a fund provided by her. Beyond that I can't proceed which is the rule provided for me by her.
