Actually just it's not hard to quit on gambling if you are committed to something or have a will to stop this addictive tantrums and I actually than that since before I used to bet everyday on my favorite teams on sports book and I manage to leave that for almost a year without betting on those but actually I'm broke those streak this month since the basketball is getting more exciting and been betting on some good teams this days  Grin.
One of the problems with gambling addiction is that the affected person not only does not believe he is not addicted to gambling but for the rest of the people around him that person may not seem to be sick at all so a lot more time can pass between the moment he gets addicted and the point in which his family may try to do something about it, and if enough time passes then leaving that addiction behind will be very challenging and it may turn out to be impossible for some.

It's hard to take a break from gambling if it's become a habit, what's your Longest Break You Have On Not Gambling, in my case my longest days of break from gambling is 30 days when I take a vacation from a place when there are no casinos, and no internet connection.
I gambling in 2017 for almost a year and just like a normal gambler it is really addicting especially if you are winning so I think I just keep on playing because of the profit that I getting.
2017-2018 I play gambling and then have a rest until today because of the bitcoin market price that dumps in the past years I started to convert my bitcoin and don't gamble until today. I just think that gambling was not worth anymore because you could lose your money and the profit that I earn in the past years was not easy to earn today so I rather convert it to money than to use the bitcoin in gambling.
Good choice! Its much worthy to convert those btc into fiat money and make use into more important things rather than completely waste it up on playing gambling.
We should play if we do have extra funds for us to use but if those money are compromised ones or intended to be used on other purposes then it isnt wise to spend it up.
Good thing that you have able to realize on what are the things which should be focused on and you've completely able to take a break with that spending habit.

Yes, there are types of people who actually listen to some stranger and absorb their advice, those people sometimes have a psychological disorder where they prefer to listen to other people than those people near them.
I've known a few of those kind of people and we don't know what he is up to but hopefully he's listening to a few of us or even if it's not us, as long as someone is suggesting a good advise for him.

That's his only choice if he did not want to lose even his wife and children.
He should accept the fact that gambling is not really for him.
He already lost them base on what he said, he have to win them back and there are many things that he can do. Another suggestion would be following the title of this thread.

So you didn't gamble ever since 2018 end? That's actually fabulous buddy! I have studied a fact that if you don't practice a habit for 21 days straight, you automatically leave that habit. So, I'm sure you are not addicted to it anymore even if you psychologically think you have just taken a break. Will plead to you not to go into gambling again as it will be easier for you now Smiley

My longest break was 4 years, from 2004 until 2008.

In 2004 i lost decent amount of money in short period of time. I was on a winning streak for something like 2 weeks, i simply couldn't miss anything. As i was winning more money, my bets were increasing. Things escalated quickly, eventually i ran out of luck and i lost everything i won up until then, and shit load more of my own money, and that thought me valuable lesson. Never again i gambled big amounts, now i just play it casually.
That's a luck trap. Shocked If feel what things were running on your mind after losing everything, you may have end up with profits if you stopped at the right time but that is not in our hand. But how did you get back into gambling after four years?

Maybe he was just searching for fun, and he decided why not to gamble again since it is the best thing for him to be entertained while earning money (if he wins). Just like what I've been discussed on the other thread that is somehow related to this topic, gambling addiction is a part of your body, if you leave it, your body would react on this and your brain will tell you that you have to gamble again to complete the missing piece in your life

And that is how most of gambling addicts do when they taught they could leave gambling forever, but sadly they cannot.
maybe his friends forced to do

Nope, I don't think so

or he just wanted to feel that pleasure again after such a long wait.

Exactly, this is what I'm saying since the beginning. Pleasure is what makes everything more fun in gambling, it is enough to fuel up your engines in playing your favorite game and makes everything explodes in the end by you losing your money again. We often mistakes things that is why we don't calculates well the steps that we are going to do in order to limit our losses in the long run.

Suppressing's addiction will just make addiction worst, you're going to be thirsty about it, instead to cure your addiction, don't stop playing gambling until you make yourself tired by losing over and over again, though this is a very risky move.

I have also break from gambling for the past year, even though I have been gambling for a long time. but I gambled due to knowing bitcoin, gambling using bitcoin was very fun, I break because Directbet was closed. but on the other hand, I like to break from gambling, because I can be more effective at doing something more positive than just gambling.

This means that you are now committed to never entering a gambling site again. If it's really good and make your life much better, go ahead.
Because I understand very well how difficult it is for someone to stop playing on a gambling site. Even though he has often won or lost.Have you had the chance to win a large amount during your gambling?

In the past, I was very addicted to gambling, in particular poker and Omaha, I also liked blackjack, as a rule it all happened offline, but on a regular basis.
It lasted quite a while, but then it bored me, I found a new activity that completely consumed me, it was mining.
As a result, I also abandoned mining. Nevertheless, my interval between gambling is about 5 years.  Cheesy

This is really a long period of time if you can stay away for so long then definitely you have a good control on yourself. If one can easily quit and play then you all have very good self discipline and anything you do in life if in controlled manner .

I managed to break from gambling sites for more than 1 year. That happened from the beginning of 2017 until mid-2018. Because I had other activities and I also participated in many bounty projects at that time. So there is no time at all to play gambling. Then I started to be very active and now I try to be able to wd every month from the gambling site that I join
lol gamblers will always find ways to gamble hahaha.

i think you are occasional gambler that can handle the lust of betting that's why you can take a year of breaking off.

That's right! It is very hard to take a break in gambling especially if this is the one you always want to do as well as this is the one that makes you smile and looks fun.
But in my case I have been take a break in gambling for almost 1 year because my family suffer from a heavy losses in which we able to sell our house and some business in order to sustain our everyday live needs. This happen when my sister got died from a cancer in which all of the payment that I've been get into my job I give it to them and there is no money behind me that makes me play and gamble. That's would be the biggest break for me in gambling.

but wanting to gamble all the time means you are addicted and that is the hardest part of being gambler and those people around you.since you are uncontrollable and cannot be stopped by all means

I remember that my longest break from gambling is 2 months. I don't gamble at that time because I was too busy with my real life, so I don't even think about gambling. After that 2 months, I tried to gamble as usual, but I feel that I cannot get the excitement after that break. But I think that it is normal because I don't touch gambling at all.
That is, actually when someone becomes a gambling addict it will indeed be difficult to leave gambling, but when we have busyness or other work in daily life then at least the rush or work will make it easy for us to leave gambling. In this case I also did a long break, the first about 3 years of rest because I was already an offline gambling addict at the time and during the long break I was just filling in time for a job that was hard to get back to betting on, and for the second time I take a long break from online gambling for at least 2 years, and I still use the same methods as keeping myself busy doing other activities of gambling or rather to be more active in social activities.

My longest break in gambling is certainly 3 months. It happens because I was busy in doing my thesis at that time and I'm also doing various translations that must be submitted within the given deadline otherwise that job would be given to others. It's too difficult to manage gambling when you're busy.

Its really been hard to take a break out from gambling especially if you are embedded in this habit. In my case, I've never been so much attach in gambling so its never been hard for me to take a break besides, I never used casino games to earn money but rather just a plain entertainment but if I win that would be a bonus I'd say. Anyway, if I had this habit probably I will take a longer brake if I totally lose all of my bankroll.
Don't wait up for that scenario where you would lose all of your bankroll or shall we say you lost a big amount that you cant accept yet this would only push you
to the verge of chasing up your losses where you would end up playing as long you do have funds to play.

Taking a break is a must if you do find out that you are already spending too much money. Its better to stop early before its too late.
