So now the rumor is btc getting segwit. The rumor is the majority of mining pools support it. So if this is the case, what good would LTC be? No testing needed if its a done deal.

Bitcoin core will simply be in blocking mode from now on imho. Roles flipped. Same result.
Stalemate. Esp when core imho just proposes UASF as a counter imho.

Continued cluster f*** mode. I hope I'm wrong.

BTC/LTC would work together to be the premium currencies. With LN (lightning network) it would be so easy and useful to swap in between the 2 currencies. Not to mention the MAST and smart contracts that are currently being developed. Also, don't forget LTC confirms faster and that fees are way cheaper (that alone lol).

LTC is pretty undervalued at the moment. It is my opinion that it is a good time to buy and profit with LTC.

Let's see how the Segwit experiment will go. If nothing wrong, the price should at least keep the growing pace with Bitcoin.

Now Bitcoin is rising, but Litecoin is stuck in the same price, so Litecoin is devaluating in relation to Bitcoin

It'll be interesting to see how it goes for LTC.

Not many LTC people have sold their old addresses for Bitcoins yet.  Kinda weird... figured they'd be free money grubbing whores.

Just for basis, I called ltc $30 within 3months 2 days before it started moving form $4. exactly! Smiley I am seeing $300 by 12 months unless bitcoin can segwit.

Litecoin's marketcap could be 10B in the long run which make the price + $200

50 can be reach this year but for long run its may be possible in few years, perhaps sooner depending of market demand.
This is good considering that it was below 4 dollars at start of this year so every once that was holding then made excellent proffit so in long tern LTC good investment.

  • Faster confirmation times. The only people who don't think this is important have never spent a single coin or they have patience that the average person does not possess.
I like that I can send a small amount with zero fee, and it gets confirmed quickly anyway. Within Litecoin Core it looks exactly the same as Bitcoin Core (obviously since it was just copied), so despite the 100 times lower value, 1 Litecoin (or even much less than that) reaches Medium Priority just as fast. That means a certain amount in dollars reaches Medium Priority 100 times faster, which makes a zero fee transaction possible.
And even if you pay a fee, it is much lower than Bitcoin. Bitcoin now requires a few dollarcents up to half a dollar if you want it to get confirmed fast. In my opinion this is a bad development for Bitcoin users, only caused by miners getting rich.
For Bitcoin, fees have gone up since the Bitcoin value went up. Measured in dollars it went up even faster.

All in all I like Litecoin more than Bitcoin, if only it had the same number of users.
As a thought experiment: imagine Litecoin was the first cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin the second. I don't think Bitcoin would have survived the way Litecoin survived, simply because it's inferior.

what's going on with this pirce drop today ?

Litecoin is as it always was, a good investment. and i don't see why this has to change.

i don't agree with those who say Litecoin is dead and done with nor i agree with those who say Litecoin is the best and list the benefits like faster and more secure transactions.

litecoin is something in the middle, but the thing that makes it a good investment is not any of these. the biggest reason is that Chinese have always been so interested in LTC and pumping it especially when bitcoin is rising.

this is why i am calling the 0.0081-0.0083 range the accumulation phase before the moon!

I will probably receive a lot of heat for my opinion which is:

LTC is slowly losing ground, my best guess is one more hype till 7$ or so.. then slowly fading to current price again or even lower.

Good luck though!

7 bucks should be realistic price for one LTC but this doesnt mean it will be seem more that price is struggling to maintain and follow btc price
also some other alts are here to make big mess so remain in next few month to bee seen

Hyping then dumping on the sideline, that's how day traders makes some money with LTC. But big holders will definitely not allow the price to go even lower than $3.

Has nice sideway movement i think it will go up in a week but i could b wrong

Maybe. This last rise was choked off by short-sellers. Too many got the idea that the rise was a Wolong pump: pumping LTC after he sold his.

LTC follow BTC this is clear and this small rise is nothing significant, pump will occur without BTC.

litecoin is currently moving downwards and is a little too soon to predict the price movement of the future, it was not like this a couple of days back when the bitcoin price was going up but that has stopped and litecoin followed!

anyways i am expecting a somewhat stable price for the time being and a rise after this stage, but it may take a week or so.
