I don't see any point in Litecoin anymore.. they had faster blocktimes/conf times & ASIC resistance over Bitcoin, now none of those are selling points over many of the new altcoins.

I hear this quite a bit and agree in part.

However that was the initial reason to have LTC. That is no longer the reason for it to exist.

It's

1. a secure alternative to btc
2. faster transactions - right now just compare a transaction with either. Unless you want to pay huge fees btc transactions can take hours.
3. very liquid - you can dump 20k usd on LTC and not move the market much at all.
4. has a lot of history and recognition now - say BTC the next coin that springs to mind is LTC
5. merge mined with doge and is becoming profitable to mine again now if you have the hardware.

There are things other alts can do arguably better but really are those things really essential right now? If ltc is to bring privacy that would be useful to some people.

Sometimes just have such early mover advantage and the history of a proven track record over years is enough to keep it ahead of the game.

There are more interesting alts. There are asic resistant alts. Both of those you can't argue with. However when exchanges suddenly take their BTC wallets offline or stop withdrawals you notice everyone rushes to LTC or Doge to extract their wealth. This shows clearly that people trust them to be lower risk than the others and these are the main BTC back up currencies.

I would like to see other alts over take LTC because I have more of the "smaller" alts in terms of MC but I think LTC will be seen as the main BTC alternative for quite a while. I would not consider swapping my LTC to BTC until 0.03 and then only in part.

Where BTC is accepted you have a good probability of LTC getting added if they ever add another coin.

im more for btc/ltc exchange i prefer this better
i hope that now will ltc follow btc in price and follow btc till halving

I think 0.0160 is a good LTC/BTC target.

What is clear is that alongside uncertainty about the BTC blocksize, LTC is seen as a healthy auxiliary... particularly in China where it always enjoys premium volume.

well it would be good to see that price but i will be happy with 0.01 or 0.011
i dont mind if it goes higher but lets take it slow for the moment

it seems like the minipump lasted only a short time because currently the price is coming back from the top 0.0091BTC to <0.008BTC with small resistance and the dumping is getting bigger and bigger.

anyways i think litecoin will continue go up (overall not just this mini p&D) with bitcoin price.

and about this
I think LTC had its moment when it reached $40+, now people are more interested in new coins like Ethereum and Lisk.
If they fail, then LTC will make a come back.
Until now every new coin tries and fails to dethrone Bitcoin. So for me 70% of my money will be in Bitcoin, the rest on LTC and Lisk.
I don't understand Ethereum so I won't put a cent in it. At least LTC does not suffer from that.

i have to say i don't think those altcoins failing has any effect on litecoin price because it is not moving with them but with bitcoin price.
maybe the recent bitcoin price $15 decline is the cause of the LTC decline too.

Currently:
1 ltc = 4.2640752 usd
1 ltc = 0.00911997 BTC

Bitcoin is going up a lot since a few days, and Litecoin even goes up against Bitcoin. Just last week it was 0.007xx BTC. Is this because Ethereum is losing ground? Litecoin has been around longer than any other altcoin and has more or less proven itself to stick around.
I am happily holding a few of them, nothing much, but it would be nice to see them climb up more.
