Except Fab 10 is 130nm and I haven't see any news about it being upgraded to 110nm or smaller.

Presently, TSMC's Fab10 mainly uses 180-nm process and turns out about 45,000 wafers per month. After the capacity expansion is completed, the foundry factory's monthly output will be expanded to over 49,000 units at the end of this year. Furthermore, the firm is also going to upgrade the factory's production process into 130-nm, which will further drive up its maximum output.

Let's be frank. We ran into a potential delay of 4-7 days.

What does this mean?

We when taped out the chips to TSMC we had a "projected out date" of Jan 3, 2013 which is on schedule with our late dec. / early jan. demonstration dates. Now however after this week's website update our "projected out date" has changed to Jan 7th, 2013 and "committed date" has been revealed to be Jan 10th, 2013. TSMC did not give us a reason for this, but as a small customer you are really at the mercy of bigger customers running higher priority lots. e.g. "super hot lot"  The "committed date" is the promised date of delivery, it is very unusual for TSMC to break their "committed date", so we expect our chips to ship on or before Jan 10th, 2013.

Another potential problem is Customs clearing, the packaging company Fujitsu is located in Shanghai's Export Processing Zone (EPZ), while the packaging itself will not see delays, it may take an additional 2-3 days to clear Customs. To make up for this, if it occurs, we will be flying down to Shanghai to the demonstration in the EPZ instead of waiting for the shipping to the factory for assembly.

With all this happening, it has burned through the 1 week additional leeway time we originally left out. I must say it will be difficulty for us to ship on Jan 14th, we however expect to ship around Jan 18 ~ 20.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: There's more than one person writing copy under that account.

Yifu is definently a f*$# boy, but isn't the more plausible scenario that a bunch of Chinese chip orders have already arrived because they don't have to deal with outgoing and incoming customs checks. AND that Yifu was being at least slightly dishonest/incompetent.
The chips are made by TSMC in Taiwan, they pass through customs to get to China.

For these chips, they could've been made in Shanghai at TSMC Fab #10 which opened in 2004.

TSMC Limited, Fab 10
4000, Wen Xiang Rd., Songjiang,
Shanghai, China

135 Boxes reportedly containing 2.1 million chips were shipped from Shanghai to Hong Kong on June 25th.

Except Fab 10 is 130nm and I haven't see any news about it being upgraded to 110nm or smaller.

My apology's, It appears all the Avalon chips were on that UPS plane that crashed in Alabama. We however will ship out replacements as we get them in. Estimated 4-5 weeks

That wasn't funny.  You're a douche bag. I wonder if the rest of your hundred-something posts are as worthless as this?

To the poster above..the 56 pages weren't just angst.  There have been a lot of pointless posts like this.  Oh, and a lot of weak attempts at humor with 2nd grade photoshop skills. I'd love it if people would stay on topic and keep the sub-par joking aside.

EDIT:  I was ready to drive to NY and beat down three body guards and a chinese scammer.
SIDE-EDIT: This is not a legitimate threat, as the post prompting such feelings was fraudulent.

I doubt it, the most likely scenario is Avalon sold your chips to someone else for a last minute offer too good to refuse, probably from someone local. The chips are gone, Yufi is gone, your BTC is gone, Avalon don't need business from the west now the local market is booming. Just speculating, based on the flood of Chinese ads for Avalon chips that have suddenly started to appear.

So...is that it?

56 pages of angst & he hasn't even shown up to defend himself except to say he's alive but that he's scared of the Chinese mafia?  Huh
I'm scared of the Triads too >_>

I think we've got to collectively start taking chip manufacturing back from China.

Really? Group orders should order one of these chips and see if it's real deal. That'd be proof of false dealing of some sort or another :\

And no news about the well overdue chips that so many people have pinned their hopes on, except some vague promise to get them out soon?

All I gotta say is: Karma. It's gonna hurt when it catches up.

August 15, 2013, 04:13:38 PM
so some have speculated that the address 1FGAftzSTztFSB8LMwsrdCKTyqGY6zr3sU belongs to Avalon.  well 10000btc just came out of that wallet after it has been dormant for almost 2 months.  any ideas anyone?

One could only hope that massive refunds are incoming.
Or... they are settling accounts with Fab/chip packagers.

If Yifo sold the chips to the highest bidder, we should not be content with refunds. Legal action is in order.
