According to this interview about Toto Wolff saying "Ferrari will sacrifice 2021 too, is hard for them to come back. They will rebuild the tech division and they will come back in 2022"

https://www.formulapassion.it/motorsport/formula-1/f1-team/wolff-ferrari-sacrifichera-il-2021-mercedes-red-bull-530932.html

So sad if it will be true, sadly it is in Italian.

If Hamilton wins he will also guaranteed to be the champion of the season.

He doesn't even need to win. All he needs is to finish within 7 points of Bottas. So if Bottas wins the race and Ham comes second, he's champion (provided Bottas doesn't get fastest lap).
Ham is 85 points ahead with 4 races left.
There will be max 78 points available for the final 3 races (win + fastest lap).
So long as Ham is at least 78 ahead after Turkey, he is champion again.

16 of 21 pilots race first time in İstanbul Park. Hamilton, Vettel, Perez, Raikkonen and Hulkenberg raced 9 years ago. This would be interesting and so hard to predict who will win.
Lewis Hamilton is a natural favorite but we might see a surprise winner this time. If Hamilton wins he will also guaranteed to be the champion of the season.

I don't think we must think about the winner, it's a track where engine power is required with a lot of full throttle than the Mercedes will probably not be beat here again if no defect occurs.

I hadn't realized it was so long since we raced there. The current cars will break records on this track, it will be hard on the engines though, so much of it is at full throttle. Maybe some tire problems too.

Mercedes expects that they will be about 4 seconds faster than 2011 and the tire load will increase by 50%.

One thing is for sure here.Zero wins for Mercedes in this track as they started winning in 2014 so it would be Mercedes first win here as a team of their own,McLaren Mercedes won back in 2005 with Kimmi Raikonnen.Mercedes has less data than other teams who have raced here before so that might be an advantage to other teams.Still Mercedes engine is the strongest and is the nr one contender for the race win.

Hulk will race? Who got Covid again? Cheesy I red that Grosjean missed his flight to Istanbul, so maybe Hulkenberg is waiting for another chance to race Cheesy.
Seriously, like always, Hamilton is huge favorite, while Bottas and Verstappen will fight for 2nd place. Unless something extraordinary will happen.

I didn't see any news about who got covid again. He probably replace Lance Stroll again? All F1 and sports news sites say he will race again in İstanbul after all these years.

Scuderia AlphaTauri and Red Bull pilots made a commercial photo shoot playing backgammon in Bosphorus. Cheesy

Yep this year and next year will be the peak for timing in circuits for a looooooong time, with the revolution of 2022 the rumor is in losing about 4/sec lap in a medium lap.
The gap will be even bigger in a fast lap with fast cornes.

Maybe they will find a super secret like the Brown GP back in days but it will be improbable and we probably not see these lap timing for a decade.

The onboard of the Turkish GP track looks interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_zwcfK4mXs. I didn't followed the F1 when this track was part of it so it's quite new for me.

In the official F1 page they say as breaking news that Saudi Arabia will have a F1 race in 2021.I think it is the first time that this country will hold such a race. The more races we have in a year the better as we are reaching the end of a strange F1 Championship in 2020.

I'm not too happy about that to be frank, Saudi Arabia is an horrible country and F1 should stay away from it until it changes drastically.

I think the same as you, but money is more important than moralic concerns. The track at Turkey is nice, but even there you should currently have a bit of moralic concern, but well.

But this weekend MotoGP and F1 overlap, let's see how it turns out.

Money does talk, yes. For a country to get a Formula 1 race is a huge achievement, and is seen by corrupt regimes as a way to improve their PR and gain some measure of legitimacy in the world. Same for other events such as the World Cup or the Olympics. Certain countries will pay vast amounts of money to get an F1 race, and F1 just holds its nose and says 'yes'.
People have been waiting for Lewis Hamilton to speak out against the Saudi GP, but I don't think that's fair. We can't expect one driver - however prominent - to be the conscience of an entire sport. He's already pulled BLM into prominence in a sport that would otherwise have disregarded it. It's time for the F1 leaders themselves to take a stand here... but this seems hugely unlikely to happen.

Iannone has been banned for 4 years for doping...
LOL, what the actual f. you need doping for racing with a moto  Grin

I don't think it is one of those sports where you spend a lot of calories like cycling, if you are noob because you break too soon or you motocycle is bad and you can't compete what is the point of using doping?

It depends what kind of doping he used. Doping isn't just about physical strength and endurance. It can also improve your reaction or something else. I read somewhere that even chess players use doping.

The current CEO is a newsman and doesn't seem to care. Or maybe it's because he's American, they think Saudi Arabia is a "great ally" that can do no harm, even though 9/11 was fomented and executed by Saudis...
Though, former CEO Bernie wasn't better in terms of moral IMO and money was main factor for him.

I just learned that Stefano Domenicali is the CEO of Lamborghini, that's too funny ! I wonder if he knows the place that brand has in bitcoiners hearts ?

Domenicali is actually the CEO of Lamborghini indeed but from 2021 he will be the CEO of Formula 1 under Liberty media Management and he will replace Chase Carey.

You can learn more about this here: https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/12079169/stefano-domenicali-to-replace-chase-carey-as-f1-ceo

Money is everything.
Not only in F1 but even in MotoGP.

We need to know how Domenicali will handle the new contract when these active contracts will expire, he should be now the new CEO and he will need to decide where do they will race next.

Very hard, but so it is... i think his explanation was not plausible and credible for the doping commission, hence the high penalty.

I don't know about this men but for all interesting to read an older article
