It was really a good decision for the F1 authority to prioritize human life 1st than getting this Dangerous Circuit a go now become even worst, I really think Max Verstappen won the recent Imola Grand Prix last year and if this continued without any hustle of rain then the result will surely be the same,

Well, Monaco is not really out for now, but if they can not allocate the equipment and the trailers of each team to Monaco next week then Monaco will be called off, or maybe rescheduled,

This could simply give time for other teams to upgrade their machine parts to have an equalized performance with the Red Bull Machines,

Well, For me I think there is still a little time for the following reschedule but in the recent video that I have watched the Calendar is now congested and there is no room for Rescheduling the event, all we can do is wait,

It was the worst possible thing to happen and it did, many have thought that it is just a simple rain and it will not turn into a flood, but it was a storm, and a surge might happen and worse than that what the storm has left flooded road that is non-passable, power cut off in the region, no available manpower to help with the F1 equipment to be moved from Imola to Monaco, and another thing if the equipment can not be moved Monaco Grand Prix could get canceled aswell,

WOW! great find seeing this I think that it is a great thing for making a Sim Racing to be taken as a fundraiser to donate in the Imola Region for all damages and families that need it and Team Redline the Sim racing team of Max Verstappen has come-up of a thing to not completely replace the Imola Grand Prix, but a substitute to it, and with it, a Profesional Sim Racers will be racing with Max Verstappen himself and I have watched a video that Max Verstappen is a genius Sim Racer aswell, here is the VIDEO

Now diving deeper into this Sim Event that was titled "Real Racers Never Quits" here are the confirmed Drivers that will participate in the fundraising event where they will race in the Simulation of the Imola Circuit

Max Verstappen is quite familiar with Sim Racing you can say that he is a genius when it comes to handling Sim Racing and this event is a fundraiser for the people of the region of Imola, well this is today and where can I watch this? it is a great watch because they will be racing on a simulation circuit of Imola Circuit itself, that is why this is interesting,

Oh damn it's worse than we thought it seems, but anyway it is right the teams are prioritizing life saving emergency actions instead of logistics to move equipment.

Every single effort and expertise should rightly be moved for the floods action first. We can survive with Imola and Monaco out.

And on the bright side it gives a lot more room for teams lagging to prepare and strategize.

Does anybody know if seasons are short because of cancellations, do the races get replaced or that's it?

Imagine moving 200000 people with rain and small towns under 50cm of water.
In Italy, there are a lot of rivers and this rain was very very heavy 14 of these rivers overflowed, the electricity has been stopped for days.

Even the main road has been shut down for days.

How people can move if the roads are off and how can people work without electricity?

It was a difficult task to accomplish and with certain problems with the electricity and the road field with Debry it seems there is no hope at all however Monaco can surely wait there is still some time to transfer all those equipment and the drivers to Imola to Monaco, and in the reports for the update on the Imola GP flood and rain there are a total of 3 deaths, 3 missing and a thousand injuries, in the region where is flooded, it was really not a great sight but I think when the flood and rain subside they will likely be moving from Imola to Monaco, there is no way they can reschedule Imola because the Calendar is really cramp aswell,

But there is news that Max Verstappen is going to fundraise for an event and could replace the Imola Grand Prix, well not totally replace the real deal but it is just a Simulation and yeah they are playing it out Sim Racing and they will race in the Virtual Circuit of the Imola GP Circuit and this Sim Race was organized by his team, The Team Redline this will be on May 21, #RRNQ

Oh wow. I didn't even realize this had happened until I saw this posts.

No wonder if you got to Sportsbet website and looked for Formula 1 odds, there was nothing about this race.

I totally agree, it was no question at all whether they would race, when there are more important things in life (literally life and death) to take care of.

Hope that everything recovers in a timely manner. Never knew it could flood like that in Europe too Sad

Well, life is more important than race or career, we had only one life, and due to the Imola 1994 GP there are 2 lives that are lost and in this season of the F1 race I really think it is better to cancel the race instead of suffering some great losses that can not be replaced, those destroyed track in the Circuit, destroyed equipment and things with the F1 can be replaced but if certain life were lost because of the latest situation then I think that can not be replaced at all for me F1 did the right thing in calling off the race,

Oh! Yes, I see I remember that everything had stopped due to Covid-19, and because I was not aware of the F1 back then I didn't realize at all that it also was stopped, well at least I wasn't really aware of the F1, but thinking about it yes Covid-19 Pandemic really was the worst there was nothing no all kinds of sports, no going outside, so no outing there are forbidden places that the authority could arrest you for not obeying, families can not see each other, and there are a lot of deaths, pretty much I really don't want to get back to that situation again, and yes there are a lot of GP that has been canceled and pretty much I am not really aware of it back then,

I recently watched a video that the Monaco Grand Prix is also at risk of getting canceled aswell, In the recent Imola Grand Prix Cancelation because of the storm and floods, the recent region and the city were totally devastated and so flooded roads and houses are still sinking on flood and  the roads are filled with blocked and unpassable Road, because of it there is no way F1 equipment on trailer trucks can no be a move to Monaco, due to the circumstances and Imola Personnel are busy right now with helping the people in need, so the F1 team are on their own, so yeah that was it and let's just wait if what may happen,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK804UPNqBY

This is going to be sad news for the F1 Community, for Imola Grand Prix was Cancelled, and if the Monaco Grand Prix would be canceled as well this is going to be a hard time for the F1 fans and if the situation in Imola gets even worst then there is a huge chance Monaco would be Cancelled but that surely depends on the situation in Imola if and only if it gets even worst, but the next F1 race is on next week and they can not afford to reschedule the Imola Grand Prix, because the calendar is surely congested for other scheduled Grand Prix,

I never thought that a Race could be suspended like that but for me, It is a good decision for F1 to cancel the Imola Race, it is a Dangerous track, and adding the wet track and the time needed to prepare for the Imola Circuit it will be a much-needed preparation because of the Current situation, now the Emilia Romagna GP has been called off

You are quite new to F1 from what I remember you mentioning in their previous post.
So this is not the first time they have suspended and even cancelled an F1 race before.
Just a couple of years ago they cancelled the Australian GP due to covid but they waited until everybody had already arrived and were at the gates to make the call. They received alot of flack due to this.
Then before the season started for this year they cancelled the China GP.

Oh! Not just the conditions of the track was affected but more importantly the town in the surrounding areas.
They were devastated where 13 people are dead and thousands displaced because of it. You certainly can't continue on with a race where people have suffered and are currently recovering right now.
https://apnews.com/article/f1-formula-one-imola-canceled-24455ce3e667a4fe9f20650b7bda5900

Imola is not the most developed area and the infrastructure isn't modern so it was easy for the high level and the quickness of the water to cause so much damage. I believe Bologna is the nearest metropolitan city where it is located in Northern Italy.

It was a disaster it was a terrible week for the F1 and for Italy for having bad weather and as you have said Imola is not a developed place and a likely disaster like this can truly become a terrible sight but I really wish Italy and Emilia Romania region will recover soon and now the race is taking place on Monaco where we likely need to focus now because this is another track that gives Verstappen a hardtime when it rained,

When the storm does subside, they would need enough time to clean up after the torrential rain.
Give me a short answer if you know is Italy Grand Prix postponed or it is totally canceled for this season?
I saw there was a lot of rain and floods all around Europe but I expected things will calm down until weekend.
On official website they say race is going to happen as planned:
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.breaking-update-on-the-emilia-romagna-grand-prix-at-imola.14xk8GLh2Lr8wBGdJqhxnO.html

Sad but the Imola Grand Prix is needed to be canceled, because of the Thunder Storms and flooded area in the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari Circuit right now the F1 race is moving on to Monaco the Grand Prix De Monaco 2023 where Drivers will need to get ready for the Circuit de Monaco, and the recent report that because of the Flood, there is a huge 100 mm rain that could struck Italy until Wednesday evening so Sunday race would not be possible because there are still rain for that day, that is why the race is called off,

So we are now moving to Monaco on May 26 - 28 actually after seeing the previous accident on the Imola Circuit in 1994 I was really scared for the driver's safety let's just say it is a blessing in disguise from above that the race was halted this week now proceeding to the Circuit de Monaco and for people that are new in the F1 race just like me I think this is details for the next F1 Grand Prix next week

FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2023

Circuit de Monaco

Details of the circuit

Number of laps: 78
Length of the circuit: 3,34 km
Total distance: 260,52 km
2018 winner: Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) - 1:56:30.265 (64 laps)
Fastest lap 2018: Lando Norris (McLaren-Mercedes) - 1:14.693

We are surely going to move to the new location and this time Monaco Grand Prix because of not bad weather but a devastating thunderstorm and flood, it was really insane seeing those cards end up in the flood, I have really no word for it, but here we are currently moving forward and in recent recent Monaco GP in the 2022 did you all know that Sergio Perez won the last Monaco GP while Carlos Sainz was 2nd, and 3rd was Max Verstappen while it is raining back then in Monaco, here is the highlights of the race back in the Monaco Grand Prix 2022

For sure they all know the track and what the history it has because being part of the F1 should be aware of the dangers with it. They all know it's a dangerous sport and should have those safety precautions with it.

I hope nothing bad happens on the weekend.

I am sure they all know the danger and even with those safety protocols you will still never know what may happen in every aspect of precaution they make there is still a chance a huge accident may occur it is like watching a final destination movie they never know what hit them, well there maybe unexpected things that could still happen an F1 Machine could still slide and skid the track,

But, just like you I also hope nothing bad happens this weekend,

Here was an update on the weather conditions at the Imola track for Tuesday:
"May 16 (Reuters) - Formula One personnel were asked to leave the Imola circuit on Tuesday amid fears of flooding as water levels rose in the nearby Santerno river following heavy rain ahead of the weekend's Emilia Romagna Grand Prix."
source: https://www.reuters.com/sports/motor-sports/imola-paddock-closed-river-levels-rise-due-heavy-rain-2023-05-16

Even worse that F1 crews were told to stay away for the time being due to Santerno River adjacent to paddock may burst its banks:
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/may/17/emilia-romagna-grand-prix-teams-told-stay-away-imola-flood-alert

When the storm does subside, they would need enough time to clean up after the torrential rain.

Sad to say but because of the Storm and Flood the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix or Imola Circuit would need to call off, or they have decided not to proceed with the race, it was a very sad Decision but it is for the safety of all the drivers, and the personnel for the F1 so I think it is safe to say we will not have a race this weekend and Imola will need to be canceled and need to be called off,

Dangerous Circuit and with the impending rain it even got worst now, I don't really want to get back to the time when there are 2 lives that were lost on this track, and it was said that when the 1st death occurred the circuit should have been close already, but yeah Imola Circuit still continues, and I think we should remember about Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna, in the modern day the Imola Circuit has gone in some modifications including the ultra-quick Tamburello corner where Senna crashed, I don't really want to relieve the sad memory but Driver should at least know where is the Tamburello Corner is located,

Imola definitely one of the dangerous ones, along with spa as well because spa definitely has some fast places, after the first corner at imola you become a lot more easier, but that first corner is the riskiest I can remember, specially risky when two cars get together there, it's very very risky to try an overtake there but as we all know drivers do not really care about risk and they just go for it if they see an open space.

I hope that there is not many crashes, it won't be as much as street circuits for sure, but it will be risky without a doubt. Max is by far the best candidate, we saw how he was better than Perez last race, and we are going to end up seeing him do great this time around as well, it will be something major without a doubt.

I just hope all drivers could surely memories those corners and how to handle them because if they do they can get to live more easily, I remembered in 2020 that Max Verstappen crashed because his tire blew and he didn't finish the race back then while the champion was Lewis Hamilton, but I think the Modification of the Machine's tires also is important with the impending when it rained on the Practice or race day it will be tremendously slippery for sure,

Made my selections early for the F1 pool for the forum that CLS63 is looking after and somebody on the thread did mention about it possibly being postponed due to the storm system being pretty severe.

Looks like we're going to have a rainy one this weekend.
Ah good...  Could make for an interesting race.  And Verstappen drives well under wet conditions and so does Alonso and somewhat Hamilton.  I guess we see these three on the podium come Sunday?
I just hope they don't postpone it, it's a really nasty situation rn in Emilia-Romagna.
Location for the F1 forum pool thread where this post is from can be seen here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5441078.360

Had read the same in another website post earlier today inregards to the weather system not cooperating with the F1 scheduled race this weekend.
https://thesportsrush.com/f1-news-imola-gp-2023-weather-forecast-cancelation-rumors-strike-fear-among-fans-ahead-of-the-emilia-romagna-grand-prix

We will have to wait until it gets closer for race time inorder for an assessment to be announced.
