Thank you for your sound advice.
Calling me a troll is raging bullshit.

Spondoolies brought this on themselves by posting no fewer than thirty times with extreme confidence that it would be on time and on spec.  You can't write: 'trust us, we know what we are doing' and not expect some heat when you fuck it all up.

Trolling is one thing - getting called out for fucking up the deal is completely different.  Whether I have orders or not, doesn't matter.  What matters is spondoolies was blowing their horn of certainty mighty hard before they showed up with nil.

Learn what a troll is before you shoot at me.  But first, get your ass in the lab and fix that shit you built under spec.  The people have had enough of sending their money to big mouth who really don't know how to build things.

The worst part of all of this, BFL might end up having the most efficient chip around -.-

1 year later and with 0 availability and with their past customer experience...thx but no.

agreed, i think we can probably assume BFL arent a player at this point.  they dont seem to be in any hurry to ship their boards, and theyre very very late... so even if they ARE efficient on power, theyre certainly not shipping them to anyone other than their own data center, and i think they already said that the excuse is that these boards arent as efficient as theyre sposed to be.   'yea, right'...

also.. im not sure how accurate this is but according to hashfast's blog (!?) the dies of the bfl chips are significantly larger than everyone elses by a huge margin... which could mean they attempted to sacrifice 'die area' for 'power efficiency'.  a difficult compromise, because die area is directly related to the cost of silicon... and a huge die area means low yield and expensive asics.   if true, this is a false economy as cost efficiency of the asics is equally if not more important than power efficiency... and most others have a smaller die area per gigahash.

To sooth the rumours about current situation between Israel and Gaza Strip I recommend watching YT news clip by Vice News called "Life Under Israel's Iron Dome: Rockets and Revenge (Dispatch 3)".

According to Israeli military about 90% of rockets fired by Hamas are intercepted.

Iron Dome intercepts only rockets that are destined to hit populated area. Of those rockets, 90% are actually being destroyed.

Thanks for clarifying it with this interesting video.

By the way, my post was deleted by the forum moderator.

If each chip pulls double the wattage that it was supposed to, do you think they made sure that the copper layers in the PCB can handle the extra load? Can the rest of the components handle the extra load?
...
Please avoid rumors and speculations. We'll release all the information in few days. Let us complete testing and firmware tuning.
I can share that we have stable systems (plural) in our labs. There is not PCB issue, etc. We've designed with enough headroom.
We'll ship the orders on time.

I can also share that we're zeroing on the issue and it's a TSMC production issue.
Future batches (October) will meet our desired spec.

Guy

Thanks for the update.

Looking forward to receiving the SP30's in August as scheduled. I trust that you and the SPTech team will do all it can to make us customers whole.

You can see the sort of guy he is by just watching his Youtube channel videos he promotes in his sig.

I have a hard time believing that's actually him.

I bought a $100,000 joke. Again.

At this point I just don't believe that you have bought SP30s worth of $100k. You seem to be the only customer that can't wait a few more days for final specs.

Yep, as I posted earlier he already admitted he missed out on the SP30's when he was spamming that crap about SP50's a few weeks back.

Black Arrow did the same thing, took an FPGA design and shrunk it into an ASIC and said the same stuff about power efficiency, shipping on time, etc.  They also had a track record of shipping products previously.

They ended up with a chip that is about half the speed at the same efficiency that they promised.  Or basically .5 watts per gh.  But each chip did half as much as they had hoped.

If the same technical issue that screwed up their simulations also impacted ST, then one can say that the efficiency could be the same but the SP30 will deliver half as much hash.   So 3th.

Now, they could raise the power and increase the hash, lowering the efficiency, which doing some quick math would get them to maybe 4.5th at their original power specs.  5.4th is their bottom number for preorders.  So they'd be on the hook for about 1.1th.

Effectively they could give every SP30 order an SP10 as well.  That would give them an equal hash rate to what was ordered, but increase power cost.

Alternatively they could keep the efficiency, and give everyone 2 SP30's.  This would be more ideal for the customer.  Not perfect, but the power usage would be the same.  (Would require more rack space however)

However, both of those options may be too costly for ST to deliver.  So we wait and see what happens...

Edit:
On another note I discovered why I made the mistake:
Oh dear god! It's PH not TH. 30THs is just 5 (or 6) SP30s.

On my! What a stupid typo. Long day...

It was kendog77 that tricked me

I strongly suspect the 30TH was caused by variance and by Bitmain manufacturing...

Don't worry. Your miners will arrive on time and on spec.
Unfortunately, this is the same thing CoinTerra, KnC, BFL all said.  It has about the same meaning as 'the check is in the mail!'
lol!

Spondoolies said with supreme confidence - they would deliver on time and on spec.  Well, unless something doesn't go right that is.  joke.

I bought a $100,000 joke. Again.  There is no need to trust these guys.  Words are cheap.  Its the guy who sends the money that gets screwed every time.  Spondoolies will say anything.

I actually believed it would be a Hamas missile that would ruin this deal.  Up to the very end, I didn't think it would be technical incompetence which would end up spoiling everything.  What a royal pig fuck.  Lies, lies, then more lies.

Seriously, we know what we're doing.
The ASICs will arrive on time, working. SP30 will be delivered on time and on spec.

Seriously, we know what we're doing - we're fucking the customers with even more lies!!!

I was saying this in April but nobody wanted to listen to me then.

Now you have to "hope" that they'll make it right and that they can still deliver on time because they've offloaded all of the risk to you.
