I can’t really blame one source for sure. FOr me accodents are greatly caused by teo or many external factors and sometimes or more times than one a driver is one to blame or contributed on this and it is a combination of all those things that you have mentioned here in your thread.

Most of the time it is the drivers fault why there accidents. Also, there are just roads and paths that are so accident prone. But, no matter how many signs you put on that area, still it is all up to the drivers at the end of the day. I feel sorry for those people who are just a victim of that unfortunate event, just so because there are drivers who are wreckless.

One of the main cause of accidents or road safety is reckless driving, there are some drivers who just driving how they want without thinking the other and not following the rules.
Then over the speeding rise in speed increases the risk of accident and severity of injury during the accident.
Another one is drunken driving, alcohol reduces attentiveness at the same time it inhibits fear and provokes humans to take risks.

I don't know the main cause of accidents, but I do know, that these reason may cause accident. Driver discipline, road rage, changing of lanes, over speeding, traffic violation and alertness in the road. Most of them are fatal. But there are times that when you are careful in the road, some are reckless and this may cause accident.

Since technology developed more faster then we though, many people doesn't aware what is the safety ride on the road, first many people still using mobile phone in the car while driving, eating foods while drive, didn't check all the car equipment for safety like brake pad, tire, water in the wiper tank, oil brake, machine oil, tire preasure. The most important was Seat Belt, still many people didn't use seat belt. They didn't knew the impact if they not wear seat belt. Maybe it was simple thing can cause seriuous accident on the roads.

I think that the main cause of accidents on the roads are the cars. If we remove the cars (and trucks etc) from the roads we will have less accidents. To have absolutely zero accidents on the roads we should remove the roads also.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can be added. Or driving while exhausted that causes them to fall asleep.Also unconditioned vehicle, that sometimes causes the vehicle to have some problem while driving like losing brakes that leads to accidents.

In my area, almost 80% of the accidents are caused by drivers who refuse to obey law. Jumping red lights, overtaking from left-side, and driving through the wrong side are so common here, and hardly anyone cares about it. And here the people think that they will become more "macho", if they don't obey the rules. The remaining 20% of the accidents are mostly caused by drunk drivers.

Main cause of accident in the road is because of hard headed motorist and vehicle owner. Not ibeying thr road/traffic rukes and regulations. Not having or properly trained in thr road. Also add the inappropriate implementation of the rules and poor implemwntation of road contruction or widening.

Drivers who did not undergone driving school because in driving school it will teach you basic road safety and road signs that are very essential to driving safely. These drivers should enroll to driving school so that they will be effective drivers.

Drunk Driving.when you drink ,you lose the ability to focus and function properly and it's very dangerous when operating an vehicle.in our country,this is the main causes of car accidents everyday,alwaya use a designated driver if you go out and drink.other causes of car accident is driving fast.

Red Light jumping:
It is a common sight at road intersections that vehicles cross without caring for the light. The main motive behind Red light jumping is saving time. The common conception is that stopping at red signal is wastage of time and fuel. Studies have shown that traffic signals followed properly by all drivers saves time and commuters reach destination safely and timely. A red light jumper not only jeopardizes his life but also the safety of other road users. This act by one driver incites other driver to attempt it and finally causes chaos at crossing. This chaos at intersection is the main cause of traffic jams. Eventually everybody gets late to their destinations. It has also been seen that the red light jumper crosses the intersection with greater speed to avoid crash and challan but it hampers his ability to judge the ongoing traffic and quite often crashes.

Distraction to Driver:
Though distraction while driving could be minor but it can cause major accidents.
Distractions could be outside or inside the vehicle. The major distraction now a days is talking on mobile phone while driving. Act of talking on phone occupies major portion of brain and the smaller part handles the driving skills. This division of brain hampers reaction time and ability of judgement. This becomes one of the reasons of crashes. One should not attend to telephone calls while driving. If the call is urgent one should pull out beside the road and attend the call. Some of the distractions on road are:
1.Adjusting mirrors while driving
2.Stereo/Radio in vehicle
3.Animals on the road
4.Banners and billboards.
The driver should not be distracted due to these things and reduce speed to remain safe during diversions and other kind of outside distractions.

another thing that is causing accident is Over Speeding:
Most of the fatal accidents occur due to over speeding. It is a natural psyche of humans to excel. If given a chance man is sure to achieve infinity in speed. But when we are sharing the road with other users we will always remain behind some or other vehicle. Increase in speed multiplies the risk of accident and severity of injury during accident. Faster vehicles are more prone to accident than the slower one and the severity of accident will also be more in case of faster the severity of accident will also be more in case of faster vehicles. Higher the speed, greater the risk. At high speed the vehicle needs greater distance to stop i.e. braking distance. A slower vehicle comes to halt immediately while faster one takes long way to stop and also skids a long distance due to law of notion. A vehicle moving on high speed will have greater impact during the crash and hence will cause more injuries. The ability to judge the forthcoming events also gets reduced while driving at faster speed which causes error in judgment and finally a crash.

Road accident is most unwanted thing to happen to a road user, though they happen quite often. The most unfortunate thing is that we don't learn from our mistakes on road. Most of the road users are quite well aware of the general rules and safety measures while using roads but it is only the laxity on part of road users, which cause accidents and crashes. Main cause of accidents and crashes are due to human errors. We are elaborating some of the common behaviour of humans which results in accident.
1.Over Speeding
2.Drunken Driving
3.Distractions to Driver
4.Red Light Jumping
5.Avoiding Safety Gears like Seat belts and Helmets
6.Non-adherence to lane driving and overtaking in a wrong manner. Various national and international researches have found these as most common behavior of Road drivers, which leads to accidents

deadly accident are mainly caused by alcohol. Lack of attention also. Using your mobile phone when you drive for example is a very bad idea. And I have the feeling that pretty everyones does it. I see a lot of people texting while driving; I don't even know how they do that

Ignorance of the law is also one reason of road accident. Drivers often say when they were apprehended, that they do not know that it's prohibited or forbidden to do this or to do that or they did not see the traffic signs. Sometimes they even question the man in uniform if one specific rule is legal or illegal. And then there's the arrogant drivers who drove with no deference to the pedestrians. Driving over the speed limit. They call themselves the "King of the road".
I highly recommend to the authorities to expel these kind of drivers to the street for the rest of their lives.
