The main cause of the accident is:

1. Distracted Driving
The number one cause of car accidents is not a criminal that drove drunk, sped or ran a red light. Distracted drivers are the top cause of car accidents in the U.S. today. A distracted driver is a motorist that diverts his or her attention from the road, usually to talk on a cell phone, send a text message or eat food.

2. Speeding
Many drivers ignore the speed limit and drive 10, 20 and sometimes 30 mph over the limit. Speed kills, and traveling above the speed limit is an easy way to cause a car accident. The faster you drive, the slower your reaction time will be if you need to prevent an auto accident.

3. Drunk Driving
When you drink, you lose the ability to focus and function properly and its very dangerous when operating a vehicle. Driving under the influence of alcohol causes car accidents every day, even when they are one the top causes that can be avoided. Always use a designated driver if you go out and drink.

4. Reckless Driving
If you don’t drive carefully, and you may end up in a needless car accident. That’s what often happens to reckless drivers who speed, change lanes too quickly or tailgate before causing a car accident. Reckless drivers are often impatient in traffic so be sure to take extra care around aggressive drivers.

5. Rain
If the weather gets bad so do the roads. Car accidents happen very often in the rain because water creates slick and dangerous surfaces for cars, trucks, and motorcycles and often causes automobiles to spin out of control or skid while braking. To avoid a car accident, drive extra careful when it rains.

6. Teenage Drivers
Youth is wasted on the young, but careful driving is never wasted on young drivers. Unfortunately, teenagers aren’t often known for their carefulness. When teen drivers hit the roads they don’t always know what to do and that lack of experience ends up causing car accidents.

7. Night Driving
Driving in the daylight can be hazardous, but driving at night nearly doubles the risk of a car accident occurring. When you can’t see what’s up ahead you don’t know what to anticipate as you drive towards it. As the sun goes down, your awareness of the road and cars around you must go up.

8. Wrong-Way Driving
Everyone has lapses in judgment, but when behind the wheel of a car, those clouded instincts can be deadly. You can turn down a street thinking it is a normal right turn, when in actuality, it is a one-way street in the opposite direction. When you go the wrong way, everyone is in danger because as you head towards a car accident.

9. Driving Under the Influence of Drugs
It’s not only alcohol that is dangerous when mixed with drivers on the road. Drugs, both legal and illegal, can impair your ability to fully function as a driver. If your mind isn’t clear and you don’t have complete control over your body, getting behind the wheel can lead to serious car accidents.

a lot of accidents in the road due to a hardheaded or stubborn drivers, that's why a lot of accidents happens on the road, if you are a driver you must follow the road safety or guidelines to be safe, as a driver you must be responsible and should follows the rules at all times, do not ignore the safety guidelines, don't drink if you're driving life is a precious and don't put your life in danger.

i think the main cause of accident is overspeeding and undicipline drivers..as i observed drivers are always like in hurry and some drivers drives under the influenced of alcohol,so don't wonder if you saw accidents in the road.

Most cause of the accident is because of lack of discipline. People don't think about others they only think about themselves.

For me,  the main cause of accidents is the drivers present in mind , what he is driving the hi- way  that he is in motion. The condition of the vehicle he must be aware.The traffic rules and regulations must be follow by the driver and conductor. There most as a seminar from the company to their driver and conductor their policy should always be  observed. Their most be do and don’t in the company so that the driver will be careful to their worked .

Drunk driving is one problem. Another cause is lack of road awareness. Maybe car maintenance can be a cause and an overloaded car can also lead to road accidents.

This morning near my bus stop was an accident. The car hit the tram and it caused an endless traffic jam. Last week there also were 2 the same accidents in my neighborhood. Seems like car drivers are always in hurry and it is the main problem as for me..

because we observerd sometimes that everyone is in hurry while on driving or they are using Mobile phones while driving.. And also lack of training and disipline.

GUYS! Mobile phones are the worst thing you can do while driving.. just forget about it, its like drive blindly

The main cause of accidents is the lack of training and discipline of people; especially in the Philippines, most of the drivers tend to over speed and drive while drunk. Also, people are most often than not, forget that they need to check their vehicle condition first before travelling, which then eventually resulted to mechanical malfunctions or lost brakes.

This is the sad reality as of now, but thankfully we have tesla auto-drive cars now that can prevent this from happening. Yet, we should be always responsible and read for whatever things we decided to do, because it is the first step to ensure everyone's safety in roads.

Lack of knowledge about driving and rules. Uncontrolled people and was not oriented of how dangerous driving is. Attitude and patience is also a factor

I think the main cause of vehicular accident is by driving while they are drunk and also lack of  road safety I guess.  Uses of gears and helmets can actually not prevent accident but it can decrease the chance having a severe injury or worst it can lead to death.

I think human factors such as drunk driving, phone usage, speeding and skill level are still the main contributors. I couldn't find a good source about global figures, but there is this research about Saudi Arabia specifically: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0033350600003061, which states that "Over 65% of accidents occur because of vehicles travelling at excess speed and/or drivers disobeying traffic signals". These human causes can possibly be solved by technological advancements such as automatic pilot technology, a definitive solution to that could be an integrated network of all vehicles, which needs to be somehow protected from hackers..

Here in our country the main cause of car accident is drunk driving and also using cellphone while driving.the other reason is fast driving.Before we drive do not drink alcohol for safety ,check the condition of your car and maybe check yourself.

There are so many causes of accident but the main and common ones are: bad road most damaged road are not properly fixed and this may cause accident.Also carelessness and recklessness on the part of the driver, overspeeding and not obeying traffic rules.

Negligence is the main cause of road accidents. Using cellphone while driving is like driving with your eyes close in one second. Driving while drunk is the other factor why road accidents happen.

Those examples are some of the reasons why their is so many road accident everyday , and also specially to those who drive that they are drunk or they drink so much alcohol . If your a driver you should know your limits on drinking alcohol so you won't be in a accident . also every drive that you may do please do wear your helmets so your head have a protector if ever

but this is the main problem! even we are so careful on driving and our eyes are on the road, still theres a lot of drivers around us that are reckless! so every time you will; go out on the road, be a defensive driver!

well i think lack of knowledge, they got accident by over speeding, traffic signal violation, or lane discipline. But then even though you are at the right lane some drivers will hit you.

Women. It's one of the causes. I don't trust women on the roads. Sorry for being sexist hahaha
