I meant that it is not about difficulty of the game, many people talked about how "easy" it was for him to score there, but the point was exactly that, he would be scoring a lot and getting the revenue from people watching that. I think it should be pointed out that this is a long term idea and I feel like he will probably stay in the USA after he retires as well and make a lot of money.

We need to realize that Ronaldo is making a lot of money too, but he is not going to stay at Saudi Arabia and own a team there, that doesn't seem possible, he could go to another nation and buy a club there maybe who knows, or go back to Portugal finally and buy a team there, or maybe not even have a business like that, but Messi can, that's the difference, it is not about getting salary, it is about 10-20 even 40 years down the road.

when Lionel Messi moves to Saudi Arabia people say he is only after money but when he goes to Inter Miami he is considered not smart because he does not take advantage of opportunities to earn a lot of money, that is this society. I think he moved to Inter Miami for many reasons as you said it is also true and for me Inter Miami is definitely the smartest choice for Lionel Messi. Because he has a brand deal with MLS like the Apple brand, and Adidas. When he arrives in the US, the stock for this brand will surely skyrocket and Lionel Messi will be making big money on MLS season tickets. So it is true as you say Lionel Messi will earn more money over time than in Saudi Arabia.
Messi rejected an offer from Saudi Arabian football due to family and cultural reasons. I know this wasn't mentioned but we remember that at some point, there were talks of him returning to Barca. Messi didn't return to Barca because he didn't want to jeopardize his legacy. I remember hearing a rumor once that Messi didn't want to come back for exactly the reason I wrote before. I also think the pressure of having to be the Messi who brought titles to Barcelona, to perform well and lead the team, and to be the focus of Barcelona's plans and sales when he knew he wouldn't be there in the long term, all played a role.

I do not think that Messi went to MLS to have some sort of difficulty, is there a reason for it? I mean he went there by getting paid a lot from the revenue, which means that he wanted to have fun and make some money.

If he went to Saudi league, there would still be some sort of expectations, whereas now that he is at MLS, that means he could play however he wants, constantly score, have fun, and also make a ton of money at the same time. This dude is getting a share of the revenue, he could literally own a piece of the team as of right now and that's the point. Look at Beckham, he played there for a while, and then bought a club instead. This is probably the same logic for him as well, could be Miami, could be another team.

Apart from that, of course he went to Inter Miami for reasons of the 2024 Copa America plus the 2026 World Cup which will be held in the US. This is also a big advantage for a Lionel Messi if he plays at Inter Miami.

Shocking results from Inter Miami, we all thought they have lost out on the race but they surprised everyone. When they have Leo Messi, good credits always happened. Leo Messi recording two crucial assists to Campana who scored a brace in the match, been a while we witnessed such good performance from these clubs. Inter Miami were lucky and had an excellent comeback in the second half inother to levelled the game. They made it to penalty shootouts, Inter Miami are winners and headed straight to the finals, already place my bet in favour of Inter Miami, Leo Messi comes for every significant titles in MLS.
On several crucial games, Inter Miami success comeback after conceded two of three goals early, Lionel Messi looks easily how manage Inter Miami on the winning trend after his arriving made drastically impact with all appearance winning matches. Upcoming match in MLS League, Inter Miami against NY Red Bulls and will Lionel Messi continues winning record for Inter Miami?
Lionel Messi effect make me more interested for watching MLS League right now and never absent all Inter Miami matches since Lionel Messi arriving, I don't care with several people think about MLS is not competitive league.

Of course he did it to make alot of money. He knows he can still play at his peak performance so why not make himself paid higher than another player in football while cementing himself as the goat of the sport.

And of course wanting to build on his legacy wouldn't hurt either.
Aside from making $1.6 billion in earnings over his career so to surpass Ronaldo is for his own achievement.

And again, Inter Miami managed to win on penalties after experiencing the same thing several times in other championships.
Cincinnati played better than Inter Miami if you look at the match statistics, but it seems that Messi's presence at Inter Miami provided a very good atmosphere in the team's enthusiasm to win the match, during the penalty shootout all Inter Miami players successfully carried out their duties while one Cincinnati kicker failed and that made Inter Miami into the final and will face Houston who beat Real Salt Lake.
Yes, after a good fight, Miami reached the finals of the US Open Cup after defeating America's strongest team, Cincinnati. In this match Cincinnati led from the start of the first half and added another goal to Cincinnati's possession in the second half. No one thought then that Miami would turn around again from time. When a star player needs to play a role Messi at that moment makes his important contribution. Although he didn't score there but produced a great scope to score and Campana scored goal there to keep them in the match. In 90 munities and extra times the result is equal (3-3). Miami won when the match went to a tiebreaker. Messi doesn't have a goal in this match but his contribution is immense.

Inter Miami Midfield is very weak, it is very very weak to be honest, the least Beckham can do right now is to enter the market and look for strong men that can takle well because Cincinnati were just having there ways so easy into Inter Miami, Gomez was struggling throught the game and that was as a result of the last match injury he sustain, it wasn't too serious but no much pressure was coming from him and it was easier for them to pass through Inter Miami, they need more able men to keep the players to be balance.\

Messi as usual didn't score a goal but the assist he made was too significant for goal contributions, the anti fans will keep wailing and cry tears and we enjoy drinking this tears badly, Campana will not forget that incredible assist Messi gave him and the last credit goes to Drake Callender, the guy has save Inter Miami in two important matches that ended in penalties and he was able to give them a good save, they will meet in final again and I'm anticipating another trophy for Messi.

Indeed, Lionel Messi's luck was good as he won the League Cup final on penalty shots, just like today, beating Cincinnati in the US Open Cup semi-finals on penalty shots. However, Messi didn't score any goals in today's match but he played a great role today and made two assists to keep the team in a strong position. This leads to Messi's second Champions Trophy in his MLS career. But if the winning streak is right, they will definitely win the final on September 27 and be able to take the second champion trophy.

However Congratulations Inter Miami for reaching US Open cup final.

HI OP, it looks like you have to update this topic because ever since Messi moved to Inter Miami, the world's eyes seem to be on MLS, I'm also still awkward with this league but it seems like this is one of the leagues that must get attention especially Messi is willing to sacrifice big money offers the big deal is just unique to be in inter miami Grin
It's very funny that this thread was created in May 28, 2021 and the first reply was posted in June 08, 2023 by you and since that day, this thread is growing and growing. This proves again how big influence these footballers carry. The thread of Saudi Professional League was created here once Cristiano Ronaldo moved in Al-Nassr.

From what I've seen so far in the captivating performance of Lionel Messi since he moved to the Major League Soccer, I think it's safe to say that the end to his footballing career isn't as near as most of us has initially thought of the player.
Scoring those numerous number of goals in very few matches is a testament that the Argentine superstar still has a long way to go in his football and would definitely break many more goalscoring records. What a phenomenal player he is...
What astonishes me is that his dribbling skills are getting better and better every year, he is a phenomenal players and it makes me sad that absolutely every defender prioritizes him and we rarely see his long dribbling sessions. He will definitely play well till the next World Cup, I genuinely believe that.

Messi has done it, however, there is a lot of gossip going on around about Messi and the league, and I kind of agree with some of the arguments. Messi is a world-class player, there is absolutely no doubt about that, but, the quality of football and players isn't really that high in MLS which might have contributed towards the win for Inter Miami FC led by Messi. But, we still got to appreciate Messi for all the goals and skillful plays that he has shown throughout the league.

His skills are unmatchable, so whenever he is on the field, it almost feels like it is all fictional and what he does isn't real. That is probably the reason why he has got such a huge fan following all around the globe that anywhere he goes, he is welcomed with open arms by the audience.
There are only two big names in football everyone would easily recognized. Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi, perhaps their era in European football have ended. We watched them played against each other for years and winning significant trophies. Leo Messi is a big positive influence on Major League Soccer. It's amazing how the league evolved round and rising to popularity race only this season. Inter Miami signing Leo Messi was one of the best signings in the club's history and winning their first league trophy this season, it's all clear message that Leo Messi is the GOAT.
They have dominated football for over a decade now. As it stands now, it is becoming extremely to find someone that will fit into those shoes even as the duo exited European football

Houston managed to beat Real Salt Lake in extra time after normal time the score was still 1-1.
The final match will be Messi's second chance to give his club the title again, and if he manages to do so it will further add to his success at Inter Miami even in a fairly short timeframe his presence at the club.

Congratulations to Inter Miami for being able to win the match. But at the same time, I have to say they were really lucky to be able to win the match.

Yes, Inter Miami were really lucky in today's win, and having Messi on their side felt like a stroke of good-luck. The match was fantastic, and Cincinnati put up a strong performance, but Messi's influence makes all the difference. He transformed Inter Miami from being the underdogs to a team that will be competing in their second final within two weeks, even defeating the top-ranked team in MLS. Congratulations another trophy loading.

Just a random thought, I think that this Inter Miami's defense needs a boost. Adding someone like Ramos to their back-line could make them the most dominant team in America.
Inter's defense can be said to be non-existent, what they do is a nightmare. Not for nothing, before Messi, Inter were in last place in their conference and even in this match, if it wasn't for a phenomenal goal from Messi, there would have been no penalty shootout.
In general, Cincinnati seems to be the first team in their division and without Messi I think Inter would not have beaten such a team.

Messi's statistics looks like he is an other level - 10 goals and 3 assists in 8 matches. This guy is really from some other planet.
Now, because of Messi, Inter can take into account the essentially seemingly failed season, because with the arrival of Messi they reached the final of the U.S. Cup and were able to get a ticket to the 1/8 CONCACAF Cup.

Its not first time for Inter Miami have conceded goal early, they can come back and winning the games regarding last match winning League Cup final. Looks easily for Lionel Messi added many trophies when playing for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer, are there not really competitive league since Lionel Messi arriving he was success winning all matches and help Inter Miami up to higher standings place before in the bottom position standings.

Inter Miami Vs Cincinnati

Today's US.Open Cup Semi-Final ended in a tightly contested 105-minute match with Inter Miami leading 2-3. Although cincinati is playing very aggressive football in order to pay goals, it is not possible to say for sure what will happen in the end. Even though Messi did not score in today's match, he made two assists. However, if Inter Miami wins today, they will advance to the final and meet in the final on September 27.

Oh my goodness..
Cincinati Vs MIA: 3:3 level
the score was currently 3-3, Cincinnati leveled the score in the 114th minute. It was almost over and if there were still no winning goals it would be a penalty shootout.
Semi-finals, it was interesting even though Messi didn't score, he is also a good assist provider. no doubt Messi is very good in ball possession skills and also seeing the position of friends.
Cincinnati is quite aggressive, they create many opportunities to try to qualify for the final round. but it looks like the match will end in a penalty shootout.

This was definitely very close match. Even in the penalties, it was close. 5-4 in favour of Inter Miami.  At one point it was definitely looking more like Inter Miami is going to lose. The goal in the 97th minute of the injury time came as a blessing for them. That was the moment when I thought probably this match is going to have a different outcome than we expected. And that is exactly what happened.

Congratulations to Inter Miami for being able to win the match. But at the same time, I have to say they were really lucky to be able to win the match.

Is so amazing that one player would come into a team and make a difference, he's changed them from one of the worst team in the league to one of the most recognised team currently and taking them from the bottom to the top area of the league shows how great of a player he is, at his age I expected his performance to reduce but he keeps attaining more records and recently outscored the all time highest goal scorer of his current club Higuaín, I won't be suprised if he's given another Balloon D'or title again to make it about 8 in his possession.
Well trying to attain the all time goal scoring record might not come easy but would be possible, that's if he remains in the league for about 3 more seasons and score up to 60 goals per season which I'm not sure would be easy even though he's in a league where scoring goals doesn't seem very difficult for him.
