@btc_angela. I reckon that would be a mistake for the aging Manny hehe. His knees are not similar to what they were many years ago versus Margarito Cotto.
That will be suicide if Thurman goes toe to toe with Manny. Others have been saying that this could be similar to Cotto fight. And we all know that Cotto goes toe to toe with Manny in the first 4 rounds and that's it. He got knock down twice and the rest is history.
Rather than the Pacquiao vs. Cotto fight, the good example of that is Pacquaio vs. Horn match where Horn shows aggressiveness at the majority of the rounds.
Pacquiao is on prime during his fight against Cotto so we can't compare and speculate what will happen if that closed bout will happen in his upcoming fight against Thurman. And during his match with Jeff Horn, Pacquaio is already considered as out of his prime but still managed to give the prime Australian a difficult fight which ended up in a controversial result.
Thurman has a chance to contained Pacquiao in his comfort zone. No doubt even how deadly Pacquaio today is, there is a big difference from his firepower in a closed bout during his prime and today. However, Pacquaio's camp already knows that and I believed they already worked on that as we seen in his previous matches.
I mean with the overall press coverage we got from the Cotto fight? Who amongst you have heard Jeff Horn's name prior? While in the Cotto fight it was really big, similar to the one we are seeing right now. Cotto is huge more powerful than Manny (as they say back then). And Manny is training very hard for Thurman's fight, similar to what we have seen him in Cotto's fight. And don't you forget the trash talking as well, not from Cotto himself, but the whole team behind Cotto that time, that even in the fight itself, they keep telling him that Manny's weapon is only his left.
We didn't hear about Manny's preparation with the Horn's fight, and the reports only surface that he didn't train that hard, not as hard as his previous fights.
Yes Pacquiao is not in his prime with this Thurman fight, and he has mature a lot and be aggressive. But I think Manny will go out on the first 3 to 5 rounds like in the Cotto fight and see how Thurman will respond.

There is no doubt about it. Pacman was always in good shape even if he doesnt have a fight. What should be interesting right is his speed. They said that pacman is still as fast as before. Lets see if that can be a good weapon against Thurman which is a one blow aim specialist
IIRC, in one of his interviews he said that it's only the carabao that gets old and age is just a number but he's still in his prime, he claimed. Thurman is an undefeated young boxer so I think he has the chance to win over pacman though we know that pacman has the edge over thurman. Anyway, it will all depend on how they will look upon the match. Pretty sure that betting will going to happen and still my bet will goes to pacman. It will be a knock out for my bet. What do you think guys of my perspective over the match?
You predicted a knockout which for me ain't gonna happen. Pacman's statistics with regards to knocking out bigger opponents is very low and with father time catching up on him i think in this fight it won't happen though i still believe that he will win this match.It would be very exciting to watch if Thurman will not just run and cover in the ring, he needs to prove his trash talking in the ring.
The reason why big opponents of Pacman was not knock out because they are not aggressive in the ring, if they will fight toe to toe against Manny, then, there's a chance a knock out could happen.

The last time I check it was 1.75 and it seems like the more Thurman do the trash talk, his odds are dropping, that's from favorites to underdog now.

Win or lose against Mayweather, he could retire because there is nothing else to prove. It's better if he could win against Floyd but we all know that it's a hill climb knowing how smart a fighter Floyd is and it's hard to beat him in boxing.
Agree, Pacman is already the people's champion and even though he loses the fight, there's a lot of money there who invested and supported him in the event. It's a win-win situation so I think it's better for Pacman to retire boxing and focus on being a Senator since he doesn't have any passed bill yet. Everyone knows how the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight works, mafias are included there.
.Anyway, Pacman can retire right now but I think he will just think of his retirement when he get his 8th loss. As he is winning, his will to fight will become stronger and therefore will accept the challenge of any challenger that wants to fight him.

Nah, let the man decide it for himself since i saw his interview with Thurman, he just literally said he really loves to work out every day. It doesn't matter what exercises he would do as long as he loves it then so be it. Besides even if he loses he still win some cash though and most of the time the difference of a loser prize is almost the same compared to the winner. 
Manny Pacquiao is the A-side here to probably 60%-40% split on his favor, so definitely even if he losses on July 20 he will get the lion share.
And yes, definitely no one can tell to some boxers to quit, let them know when the time comes for him to retire and concentrate on his political career here in the Philippines.

Ok so election time is 2022? So it's possible that he might extend and continue to fight until that year and if ever he will really run for the Presidency, he also needs money (as what Philippine politics is, candidates needs tons of money in order to win.) So popularity + deep pockets = President Manny Pacquiao is 2022.
