Win or lose against Mayweather, he could retire because there is nothing else to prove. It's better if he could win against Floyd but we all know that it's a hill climb knowing how smart a fighter Floyd is and it's hard to beat him in boxing.

Agree, Pacman is already the people's champion and even though he loses the fight, there's a lot of money there who invested and supported him in the event. It's a win-win situation so I think it's better for Pacman to retire boxing and focus on being a Senator since he doesn't have any passed bill yet. Everyone knows how the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight works, mafias are included there.
I don’t think Pacquiao will retire and focus in politics until he become a Philippine president 😂😂😂 sorry but this is the way I see things in how he manage his career.we knew how bigger impact the publicity he got from boxing specially every time he won the fight(and lessen when he loses)so basically Manny will not retire until 2022 ..not unless he got injured or he some physical problem or mental but as long as he can go up the ring and fight?no retirement will happen not today, not tomorrow and not sooner

Lets respect if what he really want, if he still want to fight boxing then let him and just support him because Pacman can handle it to be a boxer and Senator of the Philippines.

So in case Manny wins case, I think he will go after Floyd here. That is the fight we all have been waiting for and the money in the table will be huge. Yes, he doesn't have much time left so he really needs to squeeze one final money fight and that is against Floyd Mayweather.
At the age of 40, i think one more fight after this is enough for Manny. He should hang his gloves for good and enjoy the good life that he had now. Mayweather vs Pacquiao should be the fitting finale of Manny's boxing history. TBE and lots of money at stake in here.
I disagree, because he could lose against Mayweather (he would be the underdog) and a legend like him can't stop his career on a loss.

Yes nobody has ever beat Mayweather, so I don't think Pacman will want this type of challenge for his last fight. The last contender had been put KO in less than one minute...
Professionally yes, his record speaks for itself. But there are some controversies, specially against, Castillo (1) and Sanchez. But as an amateur, he was beaten in the Olympics. But I agree that it will be the same result as well, Floyd has not been battered in his career as compare to Pacman so he is fresh that is why his reflex doesn't changed thru time.

Nah, let the man decide it for himself since i saw his interview with Thurman, he just literally said he really loves to work out every day. It doesn't matter what exercises he would do as long as he loves it then so be it. Besides even if he loses he still win some cash though and most of the time the difference of a loser prize is almost the same compared to the winner. Grin

And I think even if he comes back and fight Manny, it would be tough for Manny to beat a faster boxer like Floyd who does fight to score and run.
People will get hype as usual but it will not be worth of their money, Manny needs to fight someone that will engage with him so fans will be satisfied and that is not Mayweather.
I definitely agree on you on this one. Manny will be having a hard time beating Floyd as the later is a defensive master. Though moneywise they surely are the winners but fight fans will be the losers here.

KEITH THURMAN's shocking statement again "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to destroy legends and I can create history," Thurman was quoted as saying on ABS-CBN on Wednesday (10/7). quoted from ABS-CBN (Wednesday 10/7).

Such a statement should not be shown because he is a professional boxer, because the actual proof is in the ring.

No one can stop him from selling the fight, don't believe that what he said is he actually meant it, you know boxers are also businessman, they love to sell as when they have more views, they will have more money.

This is a once in a life time since pacman is very popular and he can attract a lot of fans, so let's not make it complicated, it's for the money, period.

haha Thurman is indeed good at playing words, the term is as popular as possible, it would be exciting maybe yes if in the ring, his mouth was hit by PACMAN

It is true though that the fight did not live the hype but all I know is that people are so hyped with the rematch. Mayweather is a smart fighter, he may be called a "Runner" by some but he is undefeated, that is his strategy and unless you have a plan to break that, you can defeat him. It is not that I support Mayweather against Pacquiao, I am just saying that we are not used to that kind of a fighter since most of the people want a head on fight.

Both boxer have an own strategy people hype this rematch because the first fight of both boxers is very controversial specially people want to prove last and final fight for both legend who's is the best of them and ofcourse money matters.

Money matters of course but boxing is suppose to be an entertainment and if you are a real boxing fan, you will not be entertainment with Mayweather's style of boxing. If there's a better opponent, I don't think they will push this rematch especially if Manny will win against Thurman, I'm sure there will be better opportunity to open doors for Manny.

Manny is a living legend but I always worry about fighters as they get older. He needs to know when to walk away, I don’t know why he doesn’t retire. He really should think about retiring if he beats Thurman which I believe he will.

A fighter is only good as his last fight. So if we are going to based on Manny last fight against Broner, he still has the skills and the passion to fight. I think he is more determined to really shut down Thurman on July 20. I don't like to say that Manny is taking this personally, but it looks like that way to me.

Manny has fought a lot of fighters who is really a big mouth, but I have a feeling that Thurman is really getting into his nerves and so he will let his hands do the talking.

As for the retirement, nobody can tell a fighter it's time to hang up the gloves, it's disrespectful, they love the sports that they are willing to give everything until they feel that they don't have it anymore.

Pacquiao knows that Thurman needs to talk trash, it's all part of the pre-fight build up.

With that said, even though I think Pacman will win, I don't think he has too many years left in the tank, he will probably retire after his next fight or two, hopefully he can challenge for some more titles before he goes though.

I don't think that he will retire if Pacman wins this fight against Thurman. The ultimate goal of Manny for now is to have that rematch against Mayweather and i think if he get that fight he will retire, win or lose. The money generated by that fight then would be somehow enough for his political plans that may include running for vice president of PH.
I think that is the Pacman's main goal to have a rematch against Floyd and then after that hang and retire his gloves. I don't like him facing Amir Khan, he can't get nothing out of fighting him because Khan is already a wash up fighter.

No one can definitely tell a fighter to call it quit for they usually know that themselves through their healthy and an example is Oscar De La Hoya which hang up his gloves when he knew he can't pull the trigger anymore. However,  Mayweather is still older than him though and Manny is to face Amir after Thurman fight.
