I don't believe that the cryptocurrency has died, but I also think that HODL is no longer suitable for us, because most of the tokens we have held have fallen by more than 70%. How much damage can it save us if the bull market arrives? More than 70%?
This is not without reason. In fact, many coins have died but you have not observed them. Maybe they will not rise when they wait for the next crazy rise of Bitcoin. This may be the support of investors in this view.
They thnk that crypto is dead because of what happen in bitcoin, they think that crypto is just all about bitcoin and like what happened this past months, the bitcoin goes does and does and also the market. But crypto is not dead because so many Cryptocurrecny is still on goin like ETH and Ripple also BTC etc.
No crypto is not dead and it will never be a dead because crytpo has spreaded all over the world and most of people in world believe in crypto and they think about of crypto that it's a job for them and they are earning lot of money by crypto.

I am sure they are just frustrated and panic about the current situation (maybe they are new investors) because if they have been investing in cryptocurrency for a long time then they must be familiar with what is happening now and surely they will not sell their coins because the price down but they will buy more and hold until the price increases.
Many people will see cryptocurrency in that perspective because of its been down for a very long time now and it shows no sign of upcoming rising. Its normal in cryptocurrency to be down for a very long time but it doesn't mean its dead. Its just correcting and adjusting its market from the previous year's hype.
This is very good. When many people think that it is dying, perhaps the cryptocurrency will be revived. You can see from history. In fact, in addition to some altcoins will really go to death, the mainstream coins are very strong.
Cryptocurrency will never die in fact but many projects/cryptocurrencies are dead. Many projects born in the bubble with weak team and impossible vision, as natural excommunication, these projects will be left behind by good projects.
Cryptocurrency is far from dead despite there being plenty of FUD spread by the mainstream media including claims that it could collapse and Bitcoin would crash to $1,000 or lower but none of this has come to pass and the market has strong support in the current range so there's no reasons to have a negative perspective 
The sudden decline in the Media hype about Cryptos and its dwindling price was responsible for the pronouncement of Cryptos as dead of course Cryptos is on course and progress is on going many projects invariably many organizations are already looking to the direction of adopting Cryptos as payment gateway thus utilizing it as a digital currency as result Cryptos has come to stay and will continually wax stronger.
Of course crypto is not dead, more precisely experiencing lethargy and this has been going on for months, although it cannot be sure when it will recover but I am sure slowly crypto will rise and run normally again
They are thinking that crypto is dead simply because they comparing what happened last year and the happenings this year. Last year was great but that was a bubble I think. This year was the correction. Actually crypto is stabilizing towards the end of 2018. Of course some would say this stability at lower prices is bad. But some would see this as good indication that crypto is not dying.
If crypto is dead, then it should be a new technology that replace cryptocurrency, but right now i haven't see one. People are always fud when they are face some situation based they loses

Yes, many people think that cryptocurrency is dead and they did not support crypto because of the news that many ICO is scam and getting failed. I believe that bitcoin will be back soon and it is not dead. Crypto is alive and HODL all your coins.

There are alot of coins at the bottom of the pit because they can't sustain the weight and volatility of the market which makes them fall back causing them to not seen or heard of other investors.

Let them stay stupid and miss the train so people now are whining and sorry that they have not bought Bitcoin when it was presented to them three or four years ago, and there are still a lot of people cannot believe that Bitcoin is here to stay because they have lost a lot from investing in the wrong time.
