I totally agreed with Senator Gatchalian who critizing the DOH, to be honest di talaga ready ang DOH from the very start.

source:https://news.mb.com.ph/2020/03/29/gatchalian-criticizes-doh-for-lack-of-preparation

Hard to blame anyone but we can see the work of Government.

Source:captured from Facebook

COVID-19 cases worldwide as of 6:00PM

Total worldwide cases: 669,102
Total worldwide deaths: 31,068
Total worldwide recoveries: 143,128

#MassTesting #NoToVIPTesting

@Theb yeah N95 are the safest base sa mga nabasa ko din. If you know someone who has a readily available N95 masks at binebenta din niya ng maramihan, you can post it here (or contact the same fundraiser directly).

Nangyari yung fundraising na pinost ko dahil the supply is readily available na and can be delivered immediately (hindi na dadaan pa sa customs at iba pang pwedeng humarang). Gaya nga ng nabanggit, time is of the essence. The sooner our Doctors and healthworkers gets them, the higher chance na ma-save din sila from infection. Surgical mask + other PPEs gaya ng face shields to cover the entire face should be a good protection.

Edit 2: 100% funded na. Kung isa ka sa mga nag-donate, salamat!

By the way, if you guys are looking for an organization or a fund raising to donate to, check this one - NEED HELP TO BUY 2,000 BOXES OF SURGICAL MASKS

Our frontliners needs all the help they can get right now and it's a race against time. The fund raising started yesterday (Philippine time) and it has already reached 65% of the total target ($45K) as of this writing. If you can spare a few bucks, consider sharing. You can donate directly from your Coinsph wallet.  See details on the link. (Fund raiser's post)

Hindi ko lang sure hah pero base dun sa mga interviews na gawa ng media natin sa doctors mukhang hindi daw advisable na i-donate sakanila yung normal na surgical mask yung mas preferred nila and only mask is yung N95. Yung normal na surgical mask kasi yung nakikita din nilang main reason why a lot of their nurses and doctors are either part of the PUI or are confirmed COVID-19 positive. Just check out sa mga news tuwing gabi and makikita mo ang hinihingi nila mostly is N95. Ito talaga yung nakaka-kaba sa lahat na dati akala natin yung surgical mask is enough for us to protect ourselves eh kahit nga yung mga doctors and nurses na naka surgical mask, protective headwear nahahawa pa din paano pa kaya tayo diba?

I'd like to hear some of your guys' stories about some of the things you are seeing around you in your respective cities and provinces.
~
I don't go out unless I'm going to buy in a nearby store (just few steps away) so I can only share what I observe.

Our neighborhood is quite lax in the sense that I don't see uniformed personnel roaming around. I still see few people walking in the afternoon maybe to buy some groceries. The presence of our local government officials is hardly felt probably because houses in our neighborhood are decent looking and they probably thought it's not a priority. The only time we saw some of them was during the distribution of quarantine pass. What I appreciate though is that our street is peaceful and I haven't heard anyone being apprehended for violating curfew hours.

Social distancing wasn't observe on few occasions (like a birthday celebration where around 15-20 people attended and crammed in a small space). I hope none of them is a carrier.

I just grabbed this image on facebook and it's a perfect example of social distancing  Grin

I'd like to hear some of your guys' stories about some of the things you are seeing around you in your respective cities and provinces. These are extraordinary times (not in a good way) and it will be interesting to make a record of peoples' life experiences. Don't share any fake news tho because there are now pretty severe penalties for that.  Cheesy

Today I moved from Cebu to Lapu-Lapu. The Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) started in Cebu city at noon, Lapu-Lapu at midnight, and across the province on Monday. I'm not sure moving here was the best idea, but I will be in an apartment with a kitchen so I can prepare my own food -- earlier I was living in a hotel room with no kitchen, and it was closing down, so I had to move anyway. Here's a short story I am reposting from the Wall Observer thread about my observations.

On my ride out here, the cabbie pointed out  a neighborhood in the main city that had been cordoned off with roadblocks. He said they weren't letting people in or out of there because somebody had died of the virus there last week... He said its like that in at least 3 or 4 different parts of the city. Meanwhile, our media says zero deaths in this province and only 1 confirmed case. He also said people have been looting the larger supermarkets, as they were already hungry, and the long lines and stockpiling made things worse.

Street vendors usually trying to sell me sunglasses, watches and viagra have now upped their game to sell face masks. Even the beggars are selling grimy cloth face masks. One particularly desperate-looking woman was approaching absolutely everyone on the street trying to hustle her masks as she just needed money for food. In retrospect I should have bought 2 from her just to be nice.

People are already poverty stricken and go without on the regular here. I hope this lockdown doesn't push people over the edge. Glad I got most of my shit already, at least for a week or two. Cops will be looking to crack heads of the quarantine violators, so that's reassuring.

Here's some posing in front of the building that houses "Magellan's Cross" -- the cross Ferdinand Magellan brought here with him from Spain, before he got speared. Its kind of like a pilgrimage/holy site for Catholics.

PS: you can respond in Tagalog and I can understand it fine, I just don't want to torture you with my own Tagalog.

It seems media have hiding some facts about what was reallt happening, covering up stories and event is not helping. Kung mayroon talagang casualty, or more confirm cases every part of it should be reported, kasi makaktulong to sa statistic ng covid cases para mas aware ang general public. Anyway thanks for the heads up.

I did respond with mixed Tagalog, but I am curious, meaning you are Filipino?  Or just a visitor who got stranded by any chance for having vacation on the Philippines? Sorry for this off topic question.

That information is FALSE according to the post Presidential Communications page.

I'm glad we now have a place to properly discuss this.
Nakakabahala iyong increasing number of confirmed cases dito satin sa Pinas. On March 23rd, 86 naidagdag, kahapon, [03/25] 84 naman.
Consider this, even if just each one of those new 80+ cases infected two persons, then that's another 160+!

Angry
I wouldn't mind if the Goverment would implement a total lockdown sa buong Pilipinas para maagapan na itong krisis na ito 'cause the sooner this goes on, mas lalala pa yung problema, not only with the virus but with our economy as well.

Nothing to add more aggression sakanya dahil even mga tv casters frustrated sa ginawa niya.
