I think this merit system is not really fair enough to new users, it's very hard to get merit for your post nowadays
This is true!

even if what you posted is of high quality.
This is not true Sad

If you add those two together, you'll end up with: "For most users, it's very hard to make high quality posts".

Merit holders may also be using the opportunity to open new accounts for themselves and be giving themselves merit to build the new account
Unfortunately, this is true Sad
But those accounts risk getting red trust, and in the long run they'll run out of sMerit to give to their alts.

Go ahead and show me a few newbies' posts with high quality, and I'll share a few merits with them. Keyword: high quality
In order to talk about this, we should define "High quality". It's hard to write anything that is not some old story, written hundreds of times. Even talking about projects has no lot of sense, since even sh*ttiest projects have lot of shillers and if you criticize them, you are stoned to death immediately.

I was admin of one forum and mod on few forums (none of them doesn't have anything with crypto) and all I wanted from people is to be decent normal person. IMO that's enough for someone to have right on avatar and signature.

There are some merit sources who routinely give out 20 merits for meh posts, and I'm sure shitposters know this and follow this particular one I'm thinking of around the forum, wherever he goes, hoping they'll get some of his overly-generous merit grants.

From what I know of him he checks out their entire post history and if he decides that they are here for the right reasons and they have made enough deserving posts he will drop 20 on a single post. The post maybe meh, but I don't see him dishing them out to shitposters.

That could be, but that's not a sustainable plan for the long run.  The way merits decay as they're being distributed sort of guarantees that.  What it comes down to right now is merit sources being picky about who they're giving merits to--and how many they're giving out.  There are some merit sources who routinely give out 20 merits for meh posts, and I'm sure shitposters know this and follow this particular one I'm thinking of around the forum, wherever he goes, hoping they'll get some of his overly-generous merit grants.

We'll see in time how this all plays out.  The merit system is still relatively young, and I'm not even sure that the airdropped sMerits have burned themselves out yet.

We should be having a subforum or something ''will do any sort of work for your merit''.
You will earn merits from other forum users for sure if you make constructive threads which can meet strict rules of those guys.
After that, you will receive bunches of merit points from someone who feel satisfy with your threads' contents.

By the way, I give you several helpful topics, including mine, which will help you to be more familiar with merit system and have higher advantages to compose better threads later:
TMAN's guide to getting merits
Full Member thanks to merit system (iasenko)
And this one is my topic on English textbooks collection (both vocabulary and grammar):
tbct_mt2's Guideline on some forum functions, English texbooks
Additionally, you should also try avoiding pyramid quotes and over-sized image attached in your threads. These two sort of lazy-composed threads will partially make your threads very annoying.

Let's start reading them, and doing your better threads next times.

A bit harder to move up in the ranks now. Sad
Yes,it is hard but not impossible.I too agree that the current merit system is unfair little bit but this is what we have to stop the signature spammers from polluting the forum with nonsense replies. Now they are forced to make some good quality content for the sake of rank up,so if you want to rank up try to get into the quality discussions with some contributions .

Merit or not you need to be after all very constructive or unique in topic that reply to.
Reading all this is good after all i will collect as much as I can to gather beside knowledge some good skill or something unique to create and post ANN that will gain much attention and maybe as one of possible ways gather necessary merit for future upcoming rank.

After all this is maybe one good way to reduce spam and reading this see that this reduces spam on main topic, rest is up to local board to do something about it.
Welcome to the forum, and highly appreciate your time to compose the thread.
However, I recommend you should not publish the same sort of thread.
The main reason is there are abundant threads which state repeatedly old issues, old answers.
Honestly, I (and I guess others too) don't need them.

Constructive threads will be only constructive.
Helpful threads will be only helpful.
When all they publish in-context and should be unique one.

Im thinking like that. Unique and constructive and maybe little funny. Will do as best I can to promote and publish port unique and constructive as possible.

New users can also become copper member for just a tiny amount of bitcoin. It will take away some restrictions for newbee. nice

That is really a good option for new members. For people looking to offer their services here, it kind of brings more trust to the account which is the most important benefit in my opinion.

And then there are benefits likes the ones you mentioned like the limits getting reduced which results in better user experience. Also, it gives the forum an additional source of revenue thus benefiting everyone.

In contrast, it is really difficult to get merits, especially in recent months when merit distribution has likely dropped considerably.
Merits distributed rose a bit recent weeks, maybe due to additional merit sources.
Well don't give up , you actually need 249 now. Merit is not easy to get but it is not impossible.

My dream is much simpler, Senior Member rank is my target, not Hero Member rank.
It takes a long period of time to get, but it is worthy for my efforts.

I thought I caught someone cheating. That just make sense. Thanks. I got excited with merits that I came to see that I might just be a HERO one day if I get to received merits  everyday. I just got one today which doesn't happen everyday: I need more than 250 merits more to become a HERO. Fuck it.

EDITED: Your biggest mistake is that you post mainly in Spammy megathreads, no surprise that you got only 1 merit till now.
Try to join more "healthy" discussions, it is a better way go and forget about this shitpostings.

Can we as users in this forum regardless of our rank see all the posts where merits are given are received?
I can see there's was a user who has 537 merits (HERO) but upon checking his merit summary all that is given to him was only 7. Which means that 30 is hidden? Or was it hidden because the thread was already deleted. If this is the case then someone has already circumvent and got away with it.

The forum is keeping only the merit sent/received stats for the past 120 days.
If you want to see someone's merit history there are already third-party tools to check it like for example :
Full merit transaction history for any user - now with GRAPHS!
