Can we as users in this forum regardless of our rank see all the posts where merits are given are received?
I can see there's was a user who has 537 merits (HERO) but upon checking his merit summary all that is given to him was only 7. Which means that 30 is hidden?  Or was it hidden because the thread was already deleted. If this is the case then someone has already circumvent and got away with it.

You can see all merit here http://loycevsbasement.privatedns.org/Merit/history/forum_id.html

The forum is keeping only the merit sent/received stats for the past 120 days.
If you want to see someone's merit history there are already third-party tools to check it like for example :
Full merit transaction history for any user - now with GRAPHS!

I'm not super-useful member and this forum would be same with or without me. I don't really care too much about merit points, but it is really sad that I can't have avatar, although I am almost 1 year active member. I'm not talking only about me. There's probably hundreds of members in the same situation and all of them would be "junior members" forever.
Judge on your own is that normal or not.

Although the avatar restriction was originally introduced because of concern about a security vulnerability in SMF the forum has changed a lot since then. If Jr. Members had avatars the tens of thousands of shitposting spammers and spambots would all be getting paid to have a sponsored avatar. Getting 10 Merit isn't that hard if you put a bit of effort into your posts and get involved in interesting discussions.

I just remembered it is Full Member level so 100 Merit for an avatar, that is a bit tougher.

There is no need to be a technical expert to help others and earn merits as rewards for your help.
There are lots of different ways to help other members in the forum.
I barely know anything technical about Bitcoin, and even I managed to get some merits here and there.
Sounds well! You should keep up your good attitude to help others!

Try to be constructive, try to help, do not ignore conversation that's been going on in threads, and don't spam when there is nothing else to say. You will see, at some point you will get merits if you resonate with what people are thinking, it is not that difficult. Don't get discouraged! =)

Am not complaining but just stating the obvious which is very glaring.

"Merit system helps to stimulate learning process",   i agree to some extent but helping newbie to stay away from "useless distractions" is what i don't get? Because from what i can see virtually all members in this forum are part of one campaign or the other, ( which am guessing is the "useless distractions") you are referring to.

"Helpful and constructive threads don't equal to seriously technical threads. Do you get my point?"       What makes a post worthy of merits is my question, but here you are talking about creating a thread with a considerable contribution with discussions,       which - is not what am referring to, because members also can get reward for their post,  not necessarily a thread, what Mr. A is considered as a helpful post may not apply to Mr.B. i hope you can understand my point?

And i will continue learning you can be sure about that Wink

After all this, well not all pages but most of them seem like this is after first month stated to get very abused. Dunno if this can be somehow delayed but this is really something to consider in future for forum admins and moderators.

WRONG! Seriously Wrong!
merit system play an important role to stimulate the learning process of newcomers in the forum.
Additionally, the system at somewhat extent help newbies stay away from useless distractions.
Yeah, this merit system is a huge limitations for any new members in this platform to grow, this system obviously will only benefits all the old timers here, its a shame the new members are the one's to suffer this consequences.

Helpful threads will  be only helpful if they published in-contexts and have considerable contribution with discussions they participate.
Helpful and constructive threads don't equal to seriously technical threads. Do you get my point?

And between what really makes a post worthy of merits? Because i know not all members of this great platform are techy or vast in the knowledge of cryptocurrency.

You will stuck at Junior rank forever if you won't change your attitude and keep complaining like this.

This means i will remain a jr member untill such a time when this rules are adjusted and more favourable to all.

Exactly!
Merit system treats all users equally, especially newcomers.
They all have the same start, and someone who can join discussions better via higher constructive efforts can rank up faster.
As Speculatoross has shown, people that come here for the right reasons are having no problem in getting enough Merit to rank up.
Slower but finally, constructive users will rank up to their next ranks for sure.
And they deserve with ranking-up rewards for their continuous constructive works.

It might be a bit slower than it was before but the system is working in allowing them to progress and stopping those that only came here to get paid for posting from gaining rank.
I would like to see the rules of forum become much stricter because more and more spammers, bounty hunters, cheateres come every day.
They all partially contributed making the forum like their shit-landfill place.

The rules will not be adjusted to be more favourable for all because they were designed to be favourable to those that deserve it and not those that don't.

Seems like this would be the problem of the new folks joining and seeking knowledge here and only those people who were here first would benefit. But as i am new here i cant judge the people as i dont know anything about these requirements.I am looking forward to a less spam threads so that we can all enjoy learning, trading or anything related to cryptocurrencies.

The merit system can work
I went from 0 to 100 merit in ~ six month.
No particular skill or anything, just lot of curiosity and trying my best to share what i end up knowing
See: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ding-ranking-up-does-the-merit-system-actually-works-4576752

Pretty sure you can rank up too.

Pls everybody stop complain, start doing something useful for the community... or at least remember the main purpouse of this forum is not giving you free money for spamming signatures... this place is way more important than that  Wink

@Ikonik: can you fix your quote? It's now plagiarism, but I assume it's a mistake. While you're at it, can you shorten it? Unnecessary long quotes aren't appreciated on most forums.

Actually regarding bitcoin future, bitcoin need to be adopted by many merchants. Many companies are signed to Bitcoin adoption so future growth of this coin is infinite. May be some peoples are wrongly understand the Crypto platform not all the companies are create the own currency.

Of course is promoting, advertising, lets say bounty hunting some kind of job.You are doing that for rewards, tokens, coins, money.Someone will say a hobby for that..but come on,you still get that coins.I play golf in my free time,it´s my hobby, but i also play tournaments to win some journey and not just for fun.
Are you bugging other golf players while you play tournaments? Cause that's what spamming on this forum does to other users.

Someone calling a spammer just for doing his job/hobby is wrong in my oppinion. There are lot of them. Not everyone has skills to make 10-30 informative and constructive  posts in a week.Thats why your rank is legendery and his Jr.
The problem lies with people who can't make 30 decent posts, but make 30 posts anyway. Going back to your golf tournament: now imagine 600 people with golf clubs running after your golf ball and hitting it when they can. Would you still think it's okay, just because they can't play on their own?
