I believe what prevented my from big winning was to rely on a strategy with high odds and high winning chances (but low profit), since I had a considerable bankroll to use, so I thought it was the best safest decision to play smartly, while taking advantage of cashback and other bonuses offered by the house. However, with few consecutive losses my bankroll drained really fast, so I felt dumb for playing that way.

My money could have lasted longer if I played with lower odds and lower winning chance (but higher profit), therefore increasing my chances of earning big meanwhile. On the other hand, we can never say this with 100% assurance, because after all it's a game of chance and probability, so I really can't say what would have happened if I had done that instead of this.

As a gambler,I know that we have done so many mistakes in the pass base on our bets and wrong strategy or calculations that we have done which led to losing the game that was suppose to make you win big. I want to use myself as an example,I love sportbet and I bet more on it. Last months I placed my bet on 7 games that was to be played for two days. When the 5th game was played, all matches came out as predicted and I was called by the casino,to offer me a cash out of $200 in my local currency and I refused it because if the other two games was played and the I got the predictions right. I will win $1200,so I turned the offer down. The painful part of it was that the two games were to kick off on the same time, and after the games,my prediction for the two games was wrong. I felt so bad because I allowed greed to control my emotion. For this reason,I having decided that when ever I have an opportunity to cash out again,I will always go for it,instead of thinking that I can win all the money.
So my question is this,as a gambler what mistake have you made when gambling that prevented you from winning big.
Let's discuss.

For me, I missed big wins when I listen to others as opposed to sticking to my own intuition. And by the time the game goes on, my first guess was right but my bet turns out a loss. Instead of making money, I lost some. It's the worst thing that has happened in my gambling history.

It's also one of my challenges now. It is to stick to my own analysis and get into my own prediction. Because if I am going to lose, at least it will be my own. So it will be my own winning and my own loss. Only I am accountable of my own gambling experience.

If it has exceeded the initial capital bet, it should cash out but there is still always curiosity and confidence from the prediction that it will win but in the end it loses because it only fails in 1 match while the other 6 matches win, it feels pain and regret. Cheesy

I once said that making multi bets of more than 3 matches is difficult the risk and return is worth it but for me it is still difficult to win, and I make multi bets not more than 3.

The opportunity in gambling is that it always wants to be played even though the victory is in sight, it still feels unsatisfied if not with the desired victory.
Sometimes there are always regrets too where we make multiple bets and then cash out halfway, but in the end our predictions are all correct so that can also be called regret but we still get the benefits. Smiley

We've all been in that position and it really sucks. Even though we already have the feeling to stop, but because of our greed we keep going and in the end we lose and lose everything we have previously gained.
But even so, it's best not to regret things like this too much, let this be an experience so that in the future we can better control our emotions and can stay calm in holding back our greed.

I had a free bet once and used that to create a 4-5 legged multi then it all came down to that one final leg. I decided to hedge that free bet because it was a decent amount of winnings to miss out on and went to deposit so I could still secure a good chunk of profit regardless of whoever came out on top. After the match ended, my free bet parlay still won, and my hedge felt like it was all for nothing. I wouldn't say hedging at the time was a mistake, but that could've been my biggest win recently if I rode the bet until the end.

I don't see it as a mistake but risk-taking. Gambling is all about risk and the greater the risk the bigger the win. I will not also call it greed but boldness and bravery. But gamblers like publicizing their stories when they lose. But when they win nobody will know because they want to maintain privacy and enjoy the win alone. If OP had won $1200 this thread wouldn't have been created Cheesy.

Almost every gambler has regrets because boldness or bravery has made them miss a win. It is also important that we follow our instinct. Sometimes you will be moved to cash out no matter how big the win will be if the other games favor me. When I have such drive I usually consider cashing out immediately. I am not a good risk taker, so I like cashing out no matter how small.

Well it's true you should be greedy when you already earn some money that you feel already enough. If you've make some money through gambling, it's best to stop, enjoy your winning and then comeback the next day or week to gamble. If you always try to achieve the highest payout or earn huge amount of money when you're only bet $0.1-$2, you're only dreaming because the chance is very little.

Consistent playing is what is known by many bettors who see it as a source of income. They don't see it as greed when they win and instead going away but continue to play. Sometimes you feel that the big win will bring more wins if you continue but it has not really been that way. The amount of money also contribute to greed like in football betting, some bettors carry alot of impossible games either because of the odd but they fail on the bet at the end. It is better to play reasonably.

Greed would for sie be one of our regrets as a gambler. And in my case, I have won huge last year which gave me an idea to bet more using that money and that amount have eventually become a loss. There'll be learned lessons and some of them costs huge amount of money. Eversince, I have limited the amount I am using to bet daily and on a weekly basis. So fr the result is way better than what I was doing when I just started playing. I get to enjoy my gambling experience as well more than before. Emotions are really a bad thing especially in gambling. Luck won't be always on its way to us which should be an enough reason to be more preventive of huge loss nd debt on a worse case scenario.

The biggest mistake that us gamblers usually make, is not cashing out when we win. Especially if like in your story we win a nice amount of winnings that we should definitely cash out. My story is basically the same except I should have known when to stop. I did not. So, I lost a good amount of money in a poker game. I felt the need to go all in, like an idiot, all because I thought I had a nice set of cards which felt like an almost unbeatable hand. So my ego took over and said; hey, We are going to win anyway, so might as well make our profits the maximum amount... Shocked

Of course I lost. Just goes to show never to let your emotions take over.

You are hoping to get that $1200 so it's not surprising that you chose it and not the $200. At that time perhaps you already think you are winning too of course why would the casino offer you to cash out if you are losing?  2 more games I guess the parlay will be successful.

I have some regrets about betting on the other team when my first choice was actually the winning one. Not the kind of offers like yours.
I never had success with parlays tbh. That's why I never go for it. You are aware there are games like that in the forum right? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=71.0 Who knows you may win as well.

Oh man, that thing happens with all gamblers because the greed is a very powerful emotions that make us to suffer a lot in life. Most of the gamblers does the same thing when they fall into the trap of the greed because their logical mind will stop functioning when it falls into the control of the greed. If you had control over your greed then you would never lose anything at all.

The thing that prevented me from winning big was also greed because that emotions is very powerful that having control over it mostly in gambling is close to impossible. I also made many mistakes in gambling due to my greed, and some of those mistakes caused me huge losses as a result.
Obviously someone will suffer in gambling when they put too much greed and can't control their emotions. The average person will be in the greed stage when they are dissatisfied with the victory they get and they will continue to feel that no matter how much they win, it is still less than what they expected. Actually everyone (gambler) will have different wins and in the end it all comes back to each other, if indeed they have certain limits or are able to control their passions then it is a fact that they will not suffer too much in defeat. Gamble responsibly and don't be too ambitious about a win because in fact gambling is just luck. This means that whatever method you gamble, it will not affect the chances of winning if you are not lucky.

The mistake can be avoided when it came to the sportsbet. I tried to be even more patience in analyzing which club that had more chance to win the game. it is a challenge when you play on sports betting. The fact is that football is very dynamic and the results are easier to predict when we see a strong team playing against a weak team. Sometimes, a weak team could also beat the strong team but i don't care so much about this. That's why i prefer to bet into something that i know.
It will be much easier for me to understand who's gonna winning the game. I'll take it easy. The greed will always drive you to the lost.

The mistake most often occurs when we can get a big win. We don't immediately stop gambling but instead continue playing. This is what I feel when playing slot games. I could get $ 50, but because I was greedy, I even played the slot, hoping to multiply my winnings many times. But the truth is, I was broke and lost most of that $50 and can only regret it. It happened to me a lot in the past but for now, I learned from my experience that no matter how much I win, I quit immediately instead of losing most of it or even all of it.

There is no such thing as a perfect bet, perfect method, and perfect strategy, the best we can do is accept this fact, this is why its called gambling, we take the risk for a chance to make a profit, and take a chance does not mean good chance or opportunity, it will go either way and its a fact.

That's good if you can keep up, but you will miss the thrill and you will ask yourself what if,  if you can satisfy yourself by cashing out with small winnings that's good you have control of yourself you're playing moderately which is good.

What if you cashed out your money too early and discovered later that all the games you played enter. You will also regret it much but not so much as now that you lost everything to not cashing out. Greed in gambling is one of the biggest preventers of winning in gambling, but so also is impatience in gambling, which is also a problem. Impatience can make you not to fully realize a big win by cashing out too early. In gambling, it is difficult to see the difference between greed and patience, and then impatience and contentment.

This is where money management comes into play. If you have allocated a certain amount to bet on each game, even if you have lost the bet on two games, you would still be in profit. The mistake that most of the gamblers make, is that they have no plan and they do not know how much they can risk in each game.

Money management is important in gambling as it will not only help you retain your profits but at the same time it will help you to minimize the loss. Emotions won't come into play if we strictly follow money management principles.

I don't know if it prevents me from losing or preventing me from winning big but I can immediatly stop doing gambling after winning a satisfiable amount (not big) to my standards. I don't over gamble anymore that can surpass my limits because at the end of the day, the house edge will take affect and the the casino will still win and we all can't avoid that. I don't have any problems with my strategy because I'm using the same one for years now, It's myself control that makes me not win big on a casino.

Easier said than done, have done this in the past, so many times in my playing time, I have been in a position where I could win a large amount if I will go out,  I thought I was in the best position but it blew out, just when we are so sure of our chances strange things happen, that's every gamblers' nightmare in my case it happens to me many times if you value your bankroll and you want to keep it so you can play next time or you won a good amount and you want to treat yourself you can cashout and avoid the temptation to win more.

So my question is this,as a gambler what mistake have you made when gambling that prevented you from winning big.
Let's discuss.
Actually you are lucky $ 200 is given free of charge, because you stick to your commitment and place your bet, of course you have to risk losing $ 1200 and $ 200, because your bet will lose, for me it often happens in the world of gambling that is exactly what happens in games (Deal No Deal) where you have to withdraw, take a bid or lose everything if your guess is wrong or vice versa you win bigger than the bid given.

That is the world of gambling, what is more important for you going forward, stay professional, in my opinion you are a professional and responsible bettor, because you stick to your choice, despite the risks you have to face, to be honest I have experienced something like you experienced, bottom line: your decision is right, that's a bettor who is not easily swayed by the persuasion of other people, you face risks no matter what happens, I'm sure that in the future you will be even better at sportsbet betting.
