Some luck is definitely needed to be in right place on right time. But you need skills for such performances. 9 of 10 fastest laps during race were made by Max.
Norris is salty. He is blaming rule about free tyre change during red flag. But this rule was there for ages.

Yup, no could deny that some luck is needed to make legendary performances but denying Verstappen's skill just as Norris did reeks of insecurity and immaturity. I don't think even the great Lewis Hamilton could say something like that of he was in Norris' spot.

Seeing something like it should be something each racer should appreciate imho. But all in all, Verstappen should make the most of what he's getting now. Next year could be a hard one for RBR.

With Briatore joining the team and bringing new ideas they are now aiming for Franco Colapinto as main driver.

They are said that they tried with Sainz but he chosen Williams so they want him as a driver.

Bottas lost his spot on the Sauber.
They announced Bortoleto as official driver for the next year, so the team will be Hulkeberg plus Bortoleto.

Botta now has the option to be third driver for 2025, waiting a call for a 2026 or at his age if refuse he will probably lose the F1 train forever.

All the teams should have announced the drivers fro the next year at this point.

Except for Alpine and Red Bull, it was as if they were guests at the race. They felt like they wanted to finish the race and go home. I would have liked to see more competition, especially Hamilton, Sainz, Perez and Alonso struggled a lot in the race and were far, far behind their teammates, except Alonso. They probably had tuning problems.

Anyway super race from Max, he is on another lever under rain even if he got 1 more set of fresh tyres due the failed qualifying.

There is no doubt that Max Verstappen showed why he is the best driver on the track, dude is just on another level. While all other drivers drove very carefully for fear of crashing, and some also crashing anyways, he drove the car like a true racer and took that risk and with his talent he kept the car going as well. While I do agree that Alpine did a great job, they used luck a bit more, and they were really looking like this weather helps them a lot. At this point they do not have a car, they have a boat Cheesy

Norris must be feeling quite sad after this race, there are like three races left if I remember right and that means there won't be that much time left for him to win the title, doesn't feel like that will happen. I am not saying it is going to be impossible, the math is there and it could be a possible situation. Right now the gap between them is 62, and that means with 3 races left, if Norris gets wins on all of them, that would be 75 points, and if Max gets only 12 or less points in three races that would be Norris win. But if Max gets a podium again, the season is over. I believe Max already won the title already, the rest is just waiting but with this race he already got it.

What an unbelievable race. Both Alpines on the podium, Max from P17 to P1, Norris finally finishing P6, Colapinto crashing, 2 red flags, and many other unexpected events. I can say this was a really exciting race, full of strategy, and really draining emotions. And after this race it seems that Max's path to get the WDC is getting wider, seeing how the gap with Norris is getting bigger and there are only a few races left. For Ferrari themselves, they still have a chance to get the WCC, but only if in the next few races both of their drivers score good points.
