Congratulations to Toprak Razgatlıoğlu who has succeeded in becoming the 2024 Superbike world champion after finishing second in the WSBK Race1 in Jerez today. He was really great in maintaining his points and lap times so he didn't take too many risks to catch Bulega who was in front of him because he knew that he only needed to finish second to win the title this season because in SPRace and Race2 there were only 37 points to be won so it wouldn't be enough to pass the 41 points gap that Toprak already has. So once again congratulations to Toprak who has been able to become the world champion with a BMW motorbike this year.

Unexpected pole for Verstappen.

It think it could be an incident on 1st turn with Russell...

But is it tho?  We've been talking about how Verstappen is value at 5.50 before the weekend started and possibly even winning the US GP.  So it's not totally unexpected.  It's more of a question about McLaren and how the ban on their car's wing could affect the remaining races going forward...

McLaren's cars were fine in Singapore but will they be fine at Texas?  We'll see...  But it looks like the odds are changing.  Wink  It would've been better if the US GP was in the old format rather than this sprint stuff.

Ferrari looked good first in the first Free Practice. But they couldn't maintain the same look later on. Looking at the sprint qualifying results, a really interesting sprint race is waiting for us.

Especially the worst one for Norris if he doesn't manage to climb to top.  Sad  I don't know how he got that slower than Verstappen...

Every point counts you know. Norris can't give any more advantage to him from now on if he wants this title this year.

There was a pretty terrible incident in today's Sprint Race in Australia where Bezzecchi couldn't avoid being overtaken by Vinalis at the first corner after the straight. Although both of them didn't suffer any serious injuries, I think the organizers will investigate the incident in the next few hours so they can take appropriate action. And for Jorge Martin who started the Sprint in first place was really extraordinary because he was immediately able to create a distance with the other riders.

As for Marquez himself who had slipped when entering the first corner on the first lap, he was also able to improve his position quite nicely. Because he is really quite friendly with the track conditions in Australia today and I think for tomorrow Marquez could fight for victory because he has a pretty good time record at the Phillip Island circuit in Australia during his career.

Good perfomarce from both Ferrari indeed.
One of the few races where there is almost no difference between the number 1 driver and the second driver of the team, atleast on top team.

Only 1 failed in this, Perez. As Usual.

Yes removing the 1 point is a good decision after what happened the past month.

Before US GP FIA made decision that from 2025 season no bonus point for fastest lap will be given. I don't really get what's the reason behind this decision. Maybe this 1 point isn't something significant, but fight for it was fun something, especially when everything is already decided in race. Like last time when Ricciardo took fastest lap from Norris.

Practice results:

Ferrari lead and almost no gap between Norris and Verstappen. Sprint qualification is tonight after few fours.

This will be an interesting weekend for f1 and the media against Redbull.
As said yesterday the speculation raised by rival teams are now confirmed by redbull itself.
Redbull admired the use of this mechanism called "bib".
Hamilton already spoken about it and he always the "politically correct" one said Redbull is good in innovation and bla bla bla.
I think he is ok with it cause all teams are in grey spot at this post and all cars should be inspected more.

I see no reasons in him saying this about redbull, I mean what is the point in defending them?

Today FP1 for MotoGP Australia has failed to run due to the rain that never stops and the very bad weather around the circuit. So the riders can only sit in their respective garages because they can't do anything for today, even though I woke up early to watch FP1, but unfortunately it had to be canceled and hopefully tomorrow the weather can be very sunny so that Practice, qualification and Sprint for MotoGP Australia can run smoothly without obstacles such as rain or strong winds.

So according to rumors redbull was cheating once again.
Basically for what I'm reading FIA said in short words "Team cannot change the high of cars when the cars are locked down after qualify"

This is an old rule and you cannot break it, idk what is supposed to be the penalty.

After this announcer RBR quickly changed his car for removing the device who was doing it.

And yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if Verstappen the team performance clause in his contract and leave.

Rumors say that Max has already made plans to leave RBR if the team can't improve their car's performance as he expects. He may have the best team in mind, but there are no rumors about which team he is interested in. Well, Max is still the most sought after driver in F1, wherever he goes, the team will welcome him with open arms - especially since he is still young and has very good skills - no team wants to reject a driver like him. Now it's just RBR, whether they want to improve or not as Max expects, if they still want to try to improve their car's performance, maybe Max will stay at RBR, if they are unable to break the deadlock, maybe Max will move sooner.

If Verstappen leaves there's no other team to go to except Aston Martin.  Mercedes already signed Antonelli to replace Lewis Hamilton.  If that signing hadn't happened yet, I'd think Mercedes is on pole to sign Verstappen.  But no, all the drives that potentially could give the driver's championship are occupied by drivers they couldn't just drop.

Ferrari just signed Hamilton too and they can't drop Leclerc as he just also signed a new contract...  So it's either Verstappen stays or he goes to Aston Martin.  We'll see it after next year.

Does anyone closely follow the acquisition of MotoGP by Liberty Media? Looks like they will face antitrust investigations from multiple parties due to fear of monopoly[1]. They own F2, Formula E, F1, etc so I can see why some people want to stop this. Not to mention they also block Andretti from joining F1 if I understand this correctly, which makes the US unhappy[2]. I wonder who will they sell the rights to if the government demanded them to do that, surely not back to Dorna again. CMIIW.

For the next year doors are already closed in many teams.
Surerly he can join Mercedes in the last minute and they will "send" Antonelli to another Mercedes team like Williams, but it will probably not happening.

2026 however is a different story, with new cars and most importantly Adrian Newey to Aston Martin, the Messi of engineers will probably call him

There are 52 points left between them and I believe Norris has what it takes to win this one too. I mean we are talking about a team which is possible to do some damage and because of this I believe we are going to see something changing at the current position. We should see six more races at the moment and 52 points is nothing to worry about for Norris at the moment and that's less than 10 points per race difference.

I believe if there is even just a single race where they end up with Norris wins the race and then Max ends up like out of top five type of thing as well. I believe we are going to see at least a race like that, we are going to end up with a lot races where Norris does greatly and Max doesn't do that great.

^  Yeah but it was just one race.  If the McLarens still have the fastest pace this weekend then I conceded.  But if they're not and the bookies lining Verstappen between 3.50 - 5.50 in the next couple of races after the US GP, then there could be a couple of fun races coming our way.  Grin

As I said before the sports betting sites could be late in adjusting the lines again, just like they were when it was so obvious that McLaren was faster but they kept giving lines of Verstappen at 1.50 - 1.60 or lower.

And yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if Verstappen the team performance clause in his contract and leave.

Probably the idea of using that type of rear not very important for them, which is also why they didn't protest.
That was probably a minimal advantage over the other secret they have under the car as said by zack brown.
it's all up to the other teams now, they have to understand what those at Mclaren have come up with.

Market is moving hard for 2026, and we got signal..

I don't expect that Max will stay in RBR, where he will go? To Aston Martin with Adrian Newey?

If Toyota isn't returning as a power unit supplier but for only sponsorship then it isn't any important news. But it would be nice to see them supplying engine in the future of course.  Smiley

The new race weekend is about to start soon. It is time for the US Grand Prix in Austin. Here of course Norris is favoured again. Nothing surprising.  Tongue  But as of now he really needs to keep winning.

If I said before I'm saying it again. I think Verstappen won't be able to maintain consistency in top 3 during the rest of the races. Norris must race completely focused. Even a simple mistake could end his chance for the title mathematically.

Nobody talking about the huges news we have?

Toyota is back at F1 guys!

Toyota is with HAAS to become a partner and much more in the future, and the big is not for next year, their starts right now.

Even though they are back in F1, it is not really like they are back in F1, but they are just doing a technical partnership with Haas, so basically they are just partners, they are not developing anything to Haas, but they just want to get further benefits from Haas for the development of road cars and preparing their drivers for various motorsport events. This is a partnership that will benefit both parties, especially since the Haas team principal is a Japanese, he can provide a lot of input to Toyota in the development of their cars and drivers.
Yeah, it's not that we will have return of Toyota factory team. It's just partnership, something similar like now we have Aston Martin or previous Alfa Romeo - Sauber. These are just sponsors of teams.
Tough, it would be very interesting to see Toyota in F1. I know it's different stuff, but they're looking very solid in WEC, WRC or Rally Raid, so, they're good at making racing cars, maybe they woiuldn't fail in F1 too.

Exactly, basically they will probably "leech" some high technology for their road car giving some money to haas as sponsorship.
Atleast this is my speculation.

Guenteher Stainer ex Haas is also speaking these days and in different arguments said that Red Bull could bring to Austin a "magic" floor.

So it is expected to have a big upgrade for RBR
