It all depends on how the race develops for Max and if the race develops unsuccessfully for Verstappen, then Perez has chances to win on the home track. Another question is that in addition to Verstappen, there are Hamilton and Bottas, as well as McLarens and Ferraris, who, firstly, clearly do not want to let Perez and Verstappen arrange an inter-fight between themselves, and secondly, they also want to take a place above Perez. But all this cannot cancel out the fact that Perez will be set up in a special way at the Mexican Grand Prix at home in front of his fans and will try to squeeze the most out of himself and even a little more for this Wink

Well, it all depends on how the race turns out in the ending parts. If Max is ahead of others and Perez as well, Perez won't be trying tow-in rather he will try to hold off the other drivers but if some situation arrives where Max is lagging far behind and Perez has the chance to try to go for the win, he will then eventually try that. So it all comes down to the situation of the track.

Hamilton at 2.85 to win the race and 2.90 to get the fastest lap?  What am I missing here?  The track obv looks like it has a lot of straights and not much turns which gives Mercedes the advantage here.  Are the bookies over reacting cos of the result of the last race?  :/

According to rumors, Ferrari will go full power in the next GP for testing the engine for the following year.

So they don't care if they broke the engine (and apparently about the 3rd spot in the team's championship)
for a team like Ferrari it doesn't matter if they finish 3rd or 4rth unless they are aiming for something.
Its better for them to finish 4rth this year so next season with the new car and regulation they get more time in wind test tunnel.
last year when they finished 6th they took the extra wind tunnel test to improve which they did so for them to get better shot for title next year. especially when next year the time at wind tunnel will be less unlike last year the winner gets 90 percent and the next in line gets extra 2.5percent.
this year its going to be 70 percent for the winner and increased by every position going down by 5 percent so if Ferrari finishes 3ed they get 80 percent , 4rth it will be 85 percent.

There have been news that an agreement was reached to double the number of short Sprint races from three to six next season this confirmed by Ross Brawn The President of F1 World Championship.

Marquez has an injury due to an accident during MotoCross training and will definitely miss this race, maybe the next one as well? Certainly not an advantage because he is still not 100% fit.
The bad news, I had time to read in the local media did he have a concussion? Continuous injuries after recovery. It's a shame I saw him starting to get back form, he's starting to do well. This incident may have an effect on his psychology.
What a pity!, he was playing well and found his performance, he wasted the opportunity, What for he trains for moto trail, is he forget for Portugal?. I will not be surprised if he trains on asphalt, but on the bumpy road with high spring motorbike? that was a stupid idea. Maybe he forgot his mission. I hope it's not too bad and get well soon until his home valencia.

There is not much time left for the new race weekend in Mexico to start. This is the home Grand Prix for the Red Bull's experienced driver Sergio Perez. He has a really fast car now and he would like to look for a chance to win the race here of course as it is a really meaningful race for him. But he has a really hard job to do here as he has very tough rivals like Verstappen, Hamilton and Bottas. I'm looking forward to watching the race!
@Spack17 I don’t think Sergio will win it, because he’s been tasked to play as a backup driver for Verstappen. However he maybe emotional about winning this, and hence it’ll be interesting if the team allows him to beat Verstappen for it, and of course he’ll have to also defeat a worthy opponent like Hamilton too.
I agree with you. Perez's job is not to win the race but helps Max win the race - which he has been doing very reliably so far. There is no doubt that he will have emotions regarding this track but I don't think that Red Bull will want to switch roles just so he can win in his home track as there is a lot at stake in Red Bull management's POV.
I also think Perez will try to give Verstappen an advantage over the Mercedes and take points away from Hamilton. If Perez is in front of Verstappen, he will probably let him overtake even without team order. Perez definitely wants a long-term contract with RedBull and also for RedBull to become world champion. He will only get the win if Verstappen is further behind and can take points away from Hamilton.

It's natural that he should miss the next series, I think they don't want to repeat the mistake of forcing him to join the portimao race. This eliminated Marquez from being able to finish better in the final Moto GP class.

Marquez will skip the next GP, he got a problem with his training.

Not a big deal, next year he can surely compete for the title.

I am looking forward to the Portual GP, it is very exciting and demanding for the riders, I think Bagnaia will win the GP. Or can Fabio win the last races and join the 300 points club?

Oh yes, there is a bit of good news that along with covid-19 which has started to run out in several countries in Europe, MotoGP will re-implement Paddock Girl at the Algarve series in Portugal next week.
WELCOME BACK UMBRELLA GIRL
very good news for this year's Moto GP, this is what becomes an attraction with the establishment of beautiful girls accompanying the riders before the race which makes the excitement even more visible.

Marquez has only missed one series in the last two series, because he suffered a concussion during his off road practice and it was also a very good step for him for an early recovery because for this year there is nothing more up for grabs other than the constructors and team champions. in the race.

Mercedes said past days "will we go up with horsepowers if needed, we take the risk of breaking the engine if necessary".

And next GP in Mexico with high altitude and less oxygen in the air it will be the benchmark for the end of the season...

I heard an interview of Damon Hill a few days ago and he also said that the engine of mercedes, especially the turbo charger is much more fragile and sensible in comparison to the other engine manufacturers and that the high altitude and therefore the thin air that the teams have to deal with will be another big additional load for the engines. That is why i don't really think that mercedes will open the engines completely in the next race the risk would just be way to high to harm the engine and to have to retire the car. They will treat the engines carefully in Mexico and then in the races afterwards they will risk more in my opinion.

I also do not think that doing new stuffs and engine at the end of the year would be a very good decision. Cause it will take some time to adjust to new kinds of stuff properly. But still, I could be wrong. If their one is more fragile than the other, they should not be opting for that in Mexico in my opinion.

Well, next year we will have a reset anyone, the next year with the new car will probably win who will find a "grey area" in the regulation like BRAWNGP did back on days.
It may be boring, but I'd back Mercedes to come up with the best design, they've been a long way ahead of the rest for the current era.

They are struggling a bit this year, but that's an anomaly that's been forced on them really, with the way the new rules affect high/low rake cars differently, and with a full rebuild being impossible for the current season, it's hit Mercedes and Pink Mercedes harder than others.
Mercedes is used to being the best car on the track, and now this year Red Bull is not only close, or maybe even there, but they are also still improving this year's car. Maybe Red Bull stopped as well, since there is only a few races left and I doubt they could change something without risking something major, but at the same time they forced Mercedes to change some stuff so far, which caused Mercedes to spend less money on next year's car, and more on this year's car, Mercedes would have started on working next year's car already and spent ton of money, hundreds of millions of dollars so far if they were ahead so much like previous years.

Moreover, this red bull vs Mercedes clash this year, Hamilton vs Max clash will cause both teams to not have the clear best cars next year. They could still be the best, I do not know but they won't be clearly the best.

I can see that we have only five races to go in F1 2021 season. Verstappen is maintaining his lead in the driver standings by twelve points now. But Hamilton looks really determined to catch up with Verstappen. I have no doubt that he will do his best. But I believe that this is Verstappen's time. He's got a huge opportunity to win the championship this season and I don't expect him to waste his chance. He is racing fully focused now.
