I do have a feeling that Serio Perez will snatch the pole today but it won't win as Max will get that 1st position no matter what. Regarding Mercedes...I think right now only Hamilton and Mercedes are still fighting for the title as Bottas simply drives without any purpose so don't expect from him to be the good teammate in this last 5 races.

There are two more updates that have been implemented by Dorna during the race in Portimao this time, the first is the installation of a camera on the rider's wear on the shoulder and the second is the Safety Light which is usually used when it rains, but this time it will be tested when the sun is hot with flashing lights if there is an accident ahead and this will be very interesting to see too.

Hot weekend in F1 indeed. Let's see how FP2 will end as the start is only 30 min away and I think RedBull won't sand bag this practice season as they say that they will bring all the power they got in order to take the pole and the victory but so far it seems that every practice Redbull have no power at all and suddenly when it's qualify day , they have extra power and all of that so no wonder Toto Wolff said that this championship will be decided by a crash because no one wants to inspect the RedBull car between practice season and qualify/race day. Strange ? yes. But this kind of "games" were always present in F1 so maybe Redbull simply doesn't want to show what they got because I'm sure that Mercedes can copy that in about 24 hours and improve it.
yeah this year the practice sessions have not been the benchmark for what we are going to see in qualification or raceday.
when you look at Maclaren times they see them both not showing their full potential RB cars will be looking to show their full potential in Qualification specially Checo who have not been so impressing in quali needs top 3 qualification to help Max with championship and constructors championship as its still on the table despite that Bottas have been performing well lately just right after announcing his move to Alfa Romeo.
The most important thing is to keep the balance and not to overdo it, because the main task of the practice sessions is not to dust the opponent's head, but to test the possibilities and see the behavior of your car on the track and, if necessary, have time to make changes to the settings of the car before qualifying. No simulators will be able to recreate all the specifics of a certain race track. The increased results of Bottas can also be explained by the fact that the pilot is no longer constrained by the need to prove every time with his results the validity of his stay in Mercedes to the team bosses, fans and the media, and some sports anger that the choice was not made in his favor.

Melandri (the Italian ex-driver of Moto Gp) today rumored that Marquez is not out of the following races for the "accident" got in the training but for something else.

Don't know if it is only his speculation or he got some news about it.

Marquez has an injury due to an accident during MotoCross training and will definitely miss this race, maybe the next one as well? Certainly not an advantage because he is still not 100% fit.
The bad news, I had time to read in the local media did he have a concussion? Continuous injuries after recovery. It's a shame I saw him starting to get back form, he's starting to do well. This incident may have an effect on his psychology.
What a pity!, he was playing well and found his performance, he wasted the opportunity, What for he trains for moto trail, is he forget for Portugal?. I will not be surprised if he trains on asphalt, but on the bumpy road with high spring motorbike? that was a stupid idea. Maybe he forgot his mission. I hope it's not too bad and get well soon until his home valencia.

How can it be stupid if Marquez loves moto trail? Every person has their own hobbies, do you remember when Valentino Rossi used to try F1? Will you call him stupid to do it if something bad happened when he tried F1? It was accident and may happen anytime anywhere in any activity, no one expect to get it in any activity.

I would even say that Moto trial is not only a hoppy but also a training, all riders of the VR46 academy train Moto trial regularly. I also once heard that moto trial training prevents "arm pump", the statistics say that only very few riders have problems with the occupational disease "arm pump", for example...

https://www.intentsgp.com/arm-pump-in-motogp/

And if it's a hobby why not, Marc is risking a lot because he is still not 100% physically fit after his crash.

Hamilton at 2.85 to win the race and 2.90 to get the fastest lap?  What am I missing here?  The track obv looks like it has a lot of straights and not much turns which gives Mercedes the advantage here.  Are the bookies over reacting cos of the result of the last race?  :/

The odds of 2.85 for a hamilton win seem extremely tempting to me the one for the fastest lap not so much as there are just much more possible drivers for this ranking both mercedes drivers could make the fastest lap as well as both Red bull pilots and maybe even leclerc, sainz or lando norris are capable of producing the fastest lap. The victory of this race will decided again between hamilton and verstappen in my opinion because the other drivers of their team are definitely helping them too so Bottas for example would have to switch places with Hamilton if he would be ahead of him in the race. Same with Perez and Verstappen.

The picture above is a glimpse of our proud circuit in Indonesia. It looks very beautiful, even though in my country it is quite far from where I live. Looks like you have to come to my country to see WSBK. If I'm not mistaken, the WSBK will be held in Mandalika on 19-20 this month. The FIM and Dorna have confirmed this and we are just waiting for the race day. For more details, maybe you can visit the official Mandalika website at https://www.themandalikagp.com/ or maybe if the next season Moto Gp. If I'm not mistaken the Mandalika Moto GP will be held in March next year. Grin

Most probably they are.Last time around a lot of drama during the first lap when Hamilton and Verstappen crashed into together and lost some places, mostly Verstappen. It has a lot of straights the track but also some twisty turns and we know that at those turns Redbull is better.Surely I would bet on Hamilton though if the odds are still the same after the free practice of today.

I don't know exactly, but I saw the news on television. Hopefully it doesn't get worse for Marquez. About motocross it seems that many riders like to do it. I don't know if it's satamina and physical training because the handling of the bike is more hard work, because the road is not smooth.
But I don't think Marquez wants an accident. It was purely accidental. In addition, the 2-week break seemed to keep them training with Motocross. Next series is quartararo still eager for the championship? It should be, because the race will be more interesting.
Almost all MotoGP riders practice by playing motocross in their favorite place including academy riders like VR46 at their Ranch, so accidents are coincidences that cannot be avoided by anyone including Marquez.
And for this week's race, I think Quartararo will still aim to win the series even though he himself is the World champion for this year.

Well. A risky bet is bet on Ferrari this week.

If is it true the rumor about going at max power for testing purpose of 2022 they can even risk breaking the engine because "who cares if we start at the end".

It is time for some action again in F1! This time, we are going to be in Mexico and this is Checo Perez's home Grand Prix too. I wonder whether he will perform much better in this race to win it. But his chance to win this race is not very high honestly. Because Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are in a really fierce competition to win the title this season. Verstappen wants to get his first title while Hamilton is trying to get his 8th title and improve the title record also. I can't wait to watch this race!

Max is still ahead and he will want to "almost" guarantee this one. Checo is a great teammate and if we ever see a situation like Checo at first place, and Max at second place, I am pretty sure they will just let Max win even on Perez home track. Sure that looks like prime place for him to win, but that is extra 8 points that Max could use to make a big difference.

We definitely do not know what will happen though, we are talking about a very close situation right now and Hamilton could win and Max could crash and suddenly we have something so different in our hands as well. Worse thing for Red Bull would be a crash, they know that they can finish around the top even if not the first as long as they race, but if they end up crashing then it could be a dagger for their hopes, so they need to speak with Max and let him know that he shouldn't be so aggressive.

The Mexico GP is going to be one of the exciting races for sure. Because there are only a few races left till the end of the season now. And the title competition is still going on very closely between Verstappen and Hamilton. I want to see Verstappen becoming the champion at the end by the way. Because making a change is always good. It is boring to see Hamilton winning the title all the time.

Verstappen won here twice in an era where Mercedes were dominant Hamilton also won twice here and only one Pole position and one fastest lap from 5 entries so we can say that this track is not one of the favorites for Lewis.
and yes its a power hungry circuit so i believe its going to be a close race between the two championship contenders but for this race Verstappen have a little bit favored.
