South Korea and Thailand have announced that they will apply to the FIA to have a grand prix in their countries. An emissary will go to analyze the projects and decide on any candidature.
I hope it's not city circuits. South Korea had  their track on calendar over than decade ago. Are they going to use same track. Somehow it didn't stuck in my memory very well, I just remember it was in the middle of nowhere.

Nico Hülkenberg has already been announced by Kick Sauber F1 team for the 2025 season!  Smiley

https://talkimg.com/images/2024/04/27/rHjSa.png

If it is true, Bottas and Zhou are both out of the team by the end of this season. One of their members has been decided by this signing but we don't know who Hülkenberg's teammate will be there.

Yeah, Hülkenberg might sign for Audi maybe later but at least for one season we will watch him at Kick Sauber. While there is an opening at Haas maybe we might see Bearman being given a chance, what do you think?  Smiley
We are all waiting for confirmation about Sainz signing Audi, so, these news a bit unexpected. But logical choice, experienced driver who can give feedback about car for new team. Maybe he can even get his first career podium here if things will go as planned.
BTW, there is some rumours from David Croft that Gasly is negotiating with Williams, while Zhou can go to Alpine.

Verstappen is a driver who every team would like to sign. While there is a 'crisis' situation at Red Bull things might get really serious in time. They are trying to solve the problem before it gets bigger but it is difficult to say whether this will end for the benefit of them. Verstappen made some neutral comments on Wolff's interest in him recently.

For now I'm just expecting Verstappen to focus on his racing. The contract rumours might be fake as well. News sources like to use a topic for spreading fake news for a long time in the end. But if this turns out to be a similar thing to the Hamilton - Ferrari thing then everyone would be surprised.  Smiley

As for Vertappen's departure or not... we all know that the driver wants to drive for the team that has the best car and he certainly has that at Red Bull and no other known team can offer the same or anything better than what he has today.
However, we know that the car is only 50% of the recipe for success and the other 50% is completed by the driver's skill. And we also know that Verstappen is the best that currently exists and that there is no other equal or superior to him.

Furthermore, Verstappen himself has already clearly stated his demands in that in addition to wanting a fast car, he also wants a quiet and relaxed place to work, which is certainly something that Red Bull is try managing to provide. Verstappen is known to be interested in keeping important people in his team like Helmut Marko, he needs to stay at Red Bull to keep Verstappen happy, and that's not the only person. So, Max Verstappen's condition to continue at Red Bull depends on the certainty that these people will also continue.

It's interesting what happened this afternoon in Spain in the Moto GP.
victory for Bagnaia but Marc Marquez is coming, today he managed to fight until the last lap for the top step of the podium but he didn't succeed.

If he continues as he is doing he will soon be able to triumph.
Disaster for Martin, now the leaderboard is shorter and at the moment I don't feel like excluding Marquez.

Sad to see Pedrosa retired.

I was really surprised to see him racing again, last time I knew he quit MotoGp some years ago and I don't think I have confused myself as I was cheering for him when he was racing for Honda, sad that he never won a MotoGP title while he fully deserved it,anyway glad to see him racing again at his age which should be high now.

Also glad watching Valentino Rossi, the living legend of MotoGP owning a team and cheering for Bezzechi saying "vai Bezz".The race was beautiful and I think if Marquez would have chosen a different spot to overtake he may as well have won the race. The fact that he stopped in the last lap shows that he is happy with the 2nd place rather than pushing more than normal and risking going home with 0 points.

There are new speculations around about Mercedes - Verstappen possibility and these are claimed to be strong ones this time.

According to the source named Sportskeeda Mercedes is preparing to offer a contract worth €150 million. The negotiations are likely to happen after the Miami Grand Prix.

Toto Wolff really wants to see Verstappen in his team. He thinks Verstappen is the best driver to fill Hamilton's seat. I agree with him but still have doubts about this signing.  Huh  It just feels like Verstappen wouldn't prefer Mercedes unless they give him the fastest car. At least for the 2025 season this signing doesn't look realistic to me. Maybe for the 2026 season it can make more sense.

Verstappen was born to race. Right now he prefers the team that gives him the best car and his successes are obvious. I don't think Max has anything to do with money, he's only, only focused on racing and unless Mercedes gives him a good car, he's not going to choose Mercedes. Before 2026, it is a fact that a car that can beat the Red Bull car will not be produced. That's why I think Max will continue his career at Red Bull until 2026, and if Aramco wants Max after buying Aston Martin, it could change the balance. 2026 will be very different for F1.

When Martin was still leading and Marc was on 4th, I thought that it would not be hard for Marc to overtake Bezzecchi and there would be the most wanted battle.
Too bad Martin crashed before what I hoped come true, we might watch an epic battle between the best 3 riders.
By the way, with the result of today race make the competition become tougher because the gap between top riders in the standing is not that big.
Congrats to Marc for his first podium in the main race, hope to see more podium for him to make MotoGP more interesting to watch.
After a long time without Marquez experiencing a podium in the premier class, today he again experienced a second podium after starting the race on the first grid in Jerez. I quite enjoyed the extraordinary race today because there were many people cheering near me when they saw Marquez's action in overtaking Bagnaia even though Bagnaia himself was able to immediately take back the leading position. And the next race will be at Le Mans France which is also a very good circuit so you can expect a much fiercer battle.

What you expected happened today, although the battle that was presented was between Jorge Martin, Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia before Jorge Martin fell at the sixth corner. However, after Jorge Martin fell at the sixth corner with fifteen laps left in the race, the battle was only seen between Marquez and Bagnaia until the finish flag was raised.

He said in a declaration before yesterday sprint which he almost won as his first race for the season that the "knowing the bike and adapting to it phase is already over so I am all out in attack from now on" it really showed it on track,he just needed to be a bit more patient and to have chosen a better turn to try his overtakes once he saw that it was not working yet this was the race.

While I do praise Marquez as doing a great race let's not forget that Bagnaia a back to back World Champion showed us that under such heavy pressure he managed to show us that he broke his own lap record of the track with a wonderful 1.37.3 lap,the fastest of all race and he did it while in big pressure from Marquez.

I think we are early to judge who will be the strong favorite, even Marquez is showing that he is there,he just needs just a very little bit more time and he maybe winning his first race and once he does so it means that he will be fighting for the title too.I have not seen any race and tomorrow I am going to watch the race just to see how things have changed, there are people saying that he can win his first race tomorrow as today he was leading the sprint when he crashed out of nowhere,it means he does not feel that much comfortable with his new bike but once he gets ahead of it,he will be winning races and even Championships.

That's how you I can be wrong, yesterday I was still talking about Bagnaia falling behind, and then Martin drops out and Bagnaia wins.

For me personally, Marquez has passed his peak and he won't win any more world championship, races yes, championship no.

It was a brilliant race to watch and Marquez although in his only 4th race with Ducatti almost won it by overtaking Bagnaia twice (not successfully as he got wide) but it showed that even though he is in a client team and not the main one,he is racing with Gressini team and not the official Ducatti team he put a great pressure to Bagnaia who is a back to back Champion.

Martin got off with a crash which surprised everyone,he was normally breaking and I don't know what happened to him yet the thing that impressed me more is the come back of Marquez from fourth and far behind to almost winning the race in the last 5-6 laps, wonderful riding skills.

With all the stuff going on with Red Bull with the infighting, they could end up getting none of Horner, Newey and Verstappen.  :/  Newey is rumored to leave this year and that means Horner is free to leave.  So if the team can't get Verstappen a fast car then he could be tempted to leave for another team, most likely joining in with Wolff at Mercedes.

I think the team that ends up winning in all of the shennanigans will be Ferrari or whoever could get Horner and Newey.  Hopefully Ferrari...

Good to know we are going to watch a race of MotoGp,I thought this to be a boring weekend without F1 and for me without F1 any weekend is a boring one yet with a MotoGp race I can call this one a less boring weekend. In fact during this season I have not seen a single race of MotoGP and I would love to watch Marquez in that Ducatti and see how he is doing. If he crashed while leading the race, that can be called unexpected yet a crash in a motorbike race is never unexpected for me,even more when you are used to push like crazy like Marquez did when he was at Honda.Let's hope the race of tomorrow will be better than the Sprint and we will see more action.
The action shown by Marquez today was extraordinary even though he couldn't win because Bagnaia was too strong in the final laps of the race even though previously Marquez had often set the best time in his laps. But what was very unfortunate today was that Jorge Martin fell at the sixth corner with 15 laps left in the race and he fell while leading the race today so he had to go home with no points. And as a result of this, now the point gap between Jorge Martin and Bagnaia has become just 17 points in the provisional standings.

Marquez did the same mistake as what he did in Amerika 2 weeks ago, crashed when he was leading but lucky him today that he could finish.
Hope he wont do it again tomorow in the main race as I want to watch great competition between Jorge Martin, Marquez, Pecco and Acosta.
So many crashes today in the sprint race which is something surprising, again I hope there wont be too many crashes tomorrow.
With the result today, Jorge Martin add 12 points in the standing and he is leading with 29 points now to the 2nd position Pedro Acosta.
Marquez remains in the 7th position with 39 points, 53 points behind Jorge Martin (92).

I think the majority of the news that I read agree that the main culprit is the track condition[1]. Basically, the track is not completely dry so it is very easy to slip, not to mention if they use dry tires. Some riders went as far as complaining that the race should be stopped and restarted until the track condition improve, but it sounds like the track organizer feels that some cleaning is good enough to solve the issue. Turns out they need more than that. CMIIW.

I don't need to correct what you said because it is based on the news you read, but I said something in the post above that was only based on what I watched on TV and didn't read the news because after the Sprint Race finished there was no news whatsoever. So I also agree with what is written in the news because viewers of live broadcasts on TV also don't know what caused the crash if they don't read the news. So I don't need to correct what you said anymore because I prefer watching live on TV before reading the news.

I just saw that Quartarero managed to get penalized and lost the podium.

INCREDIBLE Pedrosa achieved the podium in this way.
This makes us understand how low the level of the other drivers is..

Many complained about the condition of the track which was spitting out water. 15 crashes in 12 laps I think is the all-time record or in any case one of the races with the most crashes in history.

10 minutes before the race starts and the sun is shinning bright so no excuses for any rider for the race,we will see the performance of each one in brilliant conditions for the race so most likely it is going to be a very good one for the weekend, not as good as F1 races but still a race is still a race.I am very much curious to see how well will Marquez perform in his new bike, will this be the day of his first win of Ducatti as chances are really high to do so in such a good weather in one of the tracks of his home country, the motivation should be extra high for him and I am watching this race just to see how well he will perform,I miss the days where he used to dominate with his Honda.

Another bad weekend so far for Bagnaia, so it will be difficult to defend the title, this year Martin is now the absolute favourite for the world champion title, a very big surprise this year is nevertheless Acosta and I assume he will ride in the KTM factory team next year.

Today's Jerez MotoGP Sprint Race was really quite dramatic with a group crash at Turn 5 for several riders in the front row at the same time. And it is not yet known what the cause is, so those on the podium today are really unexpected riders like Quartararo who started the Sprint from grid 23 but was able to finish in the top three.

oh I missed this part. Interesting.

Anyway, changing the subject, fun sprint race today for Moto GP.
About ten riders slipped on a damp track, it looked like an elimination race.
As always, Martin's talent prevailed in the end.
Marc Marquez's first victory on the Ducati isn't that long away, it could even come tomorrow, if he manages to finish the race.
