@TrumpD. What is your outlook on Fernando Alonso's odds to finish in at least 6th place in Suzuka, and also for Stoffel Vandoorne to finish in the top 10?

This is Honda's home race, so they might try extra hard to make their team and their drivers look good for their fans.

Personally don't think that either of these two will make some different then the whole this season.
If rain falls then I would say that one of them will be in top 10.

But the Honda engines are showing that some progress is happening. Have you seen the last 2 races? Fernando Alonso got unlucky but Stoffel Vandoorne is doing very well. Maybe we might see both of them finish with championship points on Sunday.

No football for this weekend, the international break sucks, but it's a good thing it's race weekend!  Grin

Will we finally see a showdown between Vettel and the young Dutchman, Verstappen?  I hope we do.  It's more exciting to see those two go at each other than to see Hamilton ease his way to the championship.  Cheesy

This GP seems favorable to the Mercedes, obviously Vettel with 34 points of disadvantage is forced to win.
Here Hamilton won 3 times with 2 pole positions, while Vettel won 4 times with 4 pole positions.
The race could be wet.
I hope Vettel is able to retrieve some points in this race so we will have an end of season fought.

It was a great overtaking move from Verstappen yet I think Hamilton didn't care much being passed from Verstappen as his fight is directly agains Vettel. With five GP to go I think Hamilton has a really good chance to win the title again this year after last year being beaten by team mate Niko Rosberg. Ferrari simply lack the power efficiency to beat Mercedes.

He is crudely fast and relentless so he will win more often, but he'll take a long time to learn the craft properly like Alonso has.

It's nice to finally see the young Dutchman winning a race this year.  It would have been better if Vettel was right there with him in the front row and with Hamilton not far behind.  Oh well, you can't get everything.

Great race by Vettel. If he didn't have first Bottas and then in late race Alonso he might been in a podium finish.
Still everything is open but Ferrari need better than this.
Indeed, Vettel did best what he can. He was very close to podium, but he didn't managed to overtake Ricciardo. But on last laps Vettel engine overheat and he had to slow down. I don't believe that Vettel can win all 5 races. Only way to win championship for Vettel is to hope few bad races of Hamilton.
And today is great win for Verstappen after many unlucky races this season. Looks that today Red Bull had advantage against Mercedes. If Ricciardo would make his pit stop few laps earlier, I believe he would be finnished in 2nd position.

Yup.  There's no way Vettel can win the championship.  It's so sad it didn't turn out to be an exciting season.   In the beginning, I thought the fight was gonna be until the last race.  That would have been epic.

Great victory for Verstappen, what a present for a birthday, his twentieth birthday. As he said, his Red Bull was perfectly set up and great credits for this win goes to his team too. With Ricciardo finished third, this was pretty great weekend for Red Bull.

Where can I bet on Sebastian to finish in the top 6? Cloudbet used to have it and the one at Bitsport makes you bet on the reverse. I reckon Sebastian can finish 4th or 5th in this race.

Yes, you were right Vettel came fourth and deserved the podium after a fantastic comeback from last place!
He was clearly the best in the track and he also made the new track record.
With the rain or the safety car he could win this race
He can still win the World Championship by winning the last 5 races!

Despite that Vettel wil start from last position, I think that he can finnish in good position because Malaysia track is good for overtaking with 2 long DRS zones. And tomorrow it can be wet race. So, Vettel stil can survive in fight for champion tittle.

Yup, that's it for Ferrari's campaign for both the Driver's and Constructor's Championship this season.  Again as I said, maybe next year.

I didn't watch this live, does anyone have an idea what happened to Vettel?  He's wasn't able to make time in Q1.

Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi are in the fight for fourth place.
Lorenzo is finally climbing the standings and should end the season at sixth place.

Great time for Vettel, today the Ferrari have seemed considerably stronger than the other teams.
After Ferrari the Red Bull seems to be the second team on this track, in fact the Mercedes seems in great difficulty.
If this were confirmed Vettel in this GP could halve the gap of 28 points in the standings!

^ I don't think so.  Merc has the momentum and we got Bottas planning on taking second place from Vettel for the Driver's Championship now.  Maybe next year.

I really wish we get a Vettel - Verstapen on the front row again!  Lol.  Cheesy  That would really make this race interesting.  And I believe the weather forecast in Malaysia is wet this weekend.  That's an advantage for the Dutch driver.  Was it last year when he was extra fast when it was raining hard in one of the races?  I think it was at Brazil.
