Its already time for next race.
This time they will race in Mexico.
Max is leading with 54 points ahead of Lando Norris.
Behind them we have Leclerc.

For him and for Ferrari the chances to win the title are not over but very improbable, especially for the driver champions looks like it is almost over.
For the constructor championship they have more odds if the car will perform with no updates like it did in the past month.

I guess the ban of parts for RBR and Mclaren counts like free upgrades on Ferrari  Grin

Today Marquez was really amazing in running the race even though he had a bad start because of a tear off from his helmet visor that he threw on the circuit before the start. But he was able to recover his position and overtake every rider in front of him until he fought with Pecco and Martin until the end of the lap. This is definitely amazing because he is really able to master the layout of the Australian circuit so well that he was able to close the gap with every rider in front of him to become the winner in today's race.

Even if I personally don't like it that much, Marquez shows that he (even if I think Martin is the better candidate) has a right to second place in the Ducati factory team.

For Bagnaia it's going to be close for a long time, he's only 20 points behind, but there are only 3 races left, so the world championship can still be very close, for us as spectators, I certainly hope that Bagnaia can make up some points in Malaysia.

Speaking of Moto GP, I saw the accident live during the sprint race between Bezzecchi and Vinales. It's truly terrifying. By reading more in depth I discovered that the Italian rider was practically penalized. In your opinion, is this the right choice?

^  Looks like with Red Bull on the decline and with McLaren not having their technical loop hole, it's the Ferraris that could take advantage of the situation rn.  Next race will be at Mexico...  Let's see if Ferrari does well again because the thing with them is just as when you start to think that they're gonna start getting some momentum, they fumble at the next race.  So we'll see.

Next race's schedule...

Ferrari really showed how to best outsmart the performance of RBR and McLaren, and the result was P1-P2 for Ferrari, even with zero upgrades, this is the result that the Tifosi were hoping for. As for Norris and Max, it seems they still hold grudges, as we saw in the last laps they really cut each other, and unfortunately Norris got a penalty for that - but it was a really exciting show. As for Colapinto and Lawson, it seems their potential is really there, as they were able to outperform their team-mates and make some pretty clever cuts at times - if they were given more chances in F1 they seem to be good drivers. Overall I would say it was a really exciting race.

Best sprint race ever yesterday in Austin.
These 19 laps of F1 were quite intense and proved once again that Norris is not ready to become World Champion.
Once again under pressure he faied and almost ended his race if Leclerc wasn't ready to break to avoid the contact.

Strong performance for Sainz, it will be a fun race today.

And what happened in today's official race confirms what you say, because in my opinion the penalty was well deserved, since Norris was overtaking Verstappen on the outside of the curve, but he wasn't ahead when they reached the Apex. He then missed the right-hand corner of the curve, leaving the track and returning in front of Max, which is identified as taking advantage after leaving the track.

And the penalty was still quite lenient, because in these cases the regulations say that the recommended penalty would be to add 10 seconds, but the stewards chose to add only 5 and the justification for this is that Norris had few alternatives other than to leave the track due to his proximity to Max, who also left the track.

Anyway, the footage of the incident doesn't lie and I believe that the penalty applied was correct and Norris still needs to try a little harder if he wants to be a world champion someday.

Have you seen the start of the Moto GP race and what happened to Marquez?
Never seen something like that since I started watching races.

Anyway for Bagnaia now it will be hard, Martin has almost 1 race of advantage.
90% of the time I think, at this point Martin will win the championship.

And next year Mark will be on the red Ducati so even harder time for the italuan.

He could be the winner if he did not make that mistake because the last gap to Martin was less than 2 seconds IIRC.
Hope Marq will be able to fight better tomorrow with no mistake and I hope to watch some riders to overtake each other.
Enea Bastianini also did it well today as he could finish 3rd while he started the race from 10th, he was unable to catch Marq after Marq overtook him earlier.
Probably the podium for tomorrow Race will not be different with the Sprint Race which are between the current top 4 riders in the standing unless there will be some accidents happen to those top 4 riders.

Another early mistake by Marquez but he could come back perfectly although he needed to wait till the last 3-4 laps to overtake Martin.
Now after the Australia Race, Martin is able to increase the gap to Pecco as now the gap is 20 points.
With 3 remaining Races (correct me if I'm wrong), Pecco will need to work hard to boost his performance up in the last 3 races if he want to make a champion hattrick.
Although the competition for the championship title can be said as between Pecco and Martin only, but other riders such as Marquez and Enea may give significant effect for Pecco and Martin while they are competing for the World Champion title.

Unexpected pole for Verstappen.

It think it could be an incident on 1st turn with Russell...

It seems Max is starting to get his confidence back seeing how he managed to get P1 in the sprint qualifying - and I'm pretty sure he can win the sprint session too. For the race session itself I'm still waiting, because maybe Charles or Norris can change the situation and come up with a different strategy, but I still see Max having a chance to get P1 in the race too. Yeah, the race looks like it's going to be pretty exciting, but unfortunately it's going to start early in the morning in my time, hopefully I'll be awake to watch it.

As for Marquez himself who had slipped when entering the first corner on the first lap, he was also able to improve his position quite nicely. Because he is really quite friendly with the track conditions in Australia today and I think for tomorrow Marquez could fight for victory because he has a pretty good time record at the Phillip Island circuit in Australia during his career.

He could be the winner if he did not make that mistake because the last gap to Martin was less than 2 seconds IIRC.

Before US GP FIA made decision that from 2025 season no bonus point for fastest lap will be given. I don't really get what's the reason behind this decision. Maybe this 1 point isn't something significant, but fight for it was fun something, especially when everything is already decided in race. Like last time when Ricciardo took fastest lap from Norris.
I agree that it can be the only entertaining thing in a race that is so boring however it doesn’t really mean anything. The fastest lap is not the one that is actually the fastest in the race but whoever has a free pit stop in the end. I guess they took it out because they don’t want anything interfering the title fight. They want this to go between Verstappen and Norris alone and not involve sister teams like VCARB.

Some drivers are even considering giving a point to pole position instead of fastest lap. What do you think? Personally I don’t think points should be given during Saturdays. They already give a trophy for the pole position.

Congratulations to Toprak Razgatlıoğlu who has succeeded in becoming the 2024 Superbike world champion after finishing second in the WSBK Race1 in Jerez today. He was really great in maintaining his points and lap times so he didn't take too many risks to catch Bulega who was in front of him because he knew that he only needed to finish second to win the title this season because in SPRace and Race2 there were only 37 points to be won so it wouldn't be enough to pass the 41 points gap that Toprak already has. So once again congratulations to Toprak who has been able to become the world champion with a BMW motorbike this year.

But is it tho?  We've been talking about how Verstappen is value at 5.50 before the weekend started and possibly even winning the US GP.  So it's not totally unexpected.  It's more of a question about McLaren and how the ban on their car's wing could affect the remaining races going forward...

McLaren's cars were fine in Singapore but will they be fine at Texas?  We'll see...  But it looks like the odds are changing.  Wink  It would've been better if the US GP was in the old format rather than this sprint stuff.

Ferrari looked good first in the first Free Practice. But they couldn't maintain the same look later on. Looking at the sprint qualifying results, a really interesting sprint race is waiting for us.

Especially the worst one for Norris if he doesn't manage to climb to top.  Sad  I don't know how he got that slower than Verstappen...

Every point counts you know. Norris can't give any more advantage to him from now on if he wants this title this year.

There was a pretty terrible incident in today's Sprint Race in Australia where Bezzecchi couldn't avoid being overtaken by Vinalis at the first corner after the straight. Although both of them didn't suffer any serious injuries, I think the organizers will investigate the incident in the next few hours so they can take appropriate action. And for Jorge Martin who started the Sprint in first place was really extraordinary because he was immediately able to create a distance with the other riders.

As for Marquez himself who had slipped when entering the first corner on the first lap, he was also able to improve his position quite nicely. Good perfomarce from both Ferrari indeed.
One of the few races where there is almost no difference between the number 1 driver and the second driver of the team, atleast on top team.

Only 1 failed in this, Perez. As Usual.

Yes removing the 1 point is a good decision after what happened the past month.
