I sell 3 and keep 1.95 for each block I hit on  ethpool

That is kinda scaring strategy. Since epic hack ETH just goes down. Soon summer electricity price will be higher than revenue

my r9 390 over clocked to 1150 core, gpu ram 1500 (cannot under clock), monitored and customized through MSI AB

I'm getting 32.x MH with 650 MH on DCR (Dual mining mode)

Will play with BIOS on overclocking too

Question on DCR - does it worth to mine it?

Which pool and what is the exchange rate to ETH (or BTC)?

as far as i'm concerned overclocking does not need BIOS tinkering, under clocking GPU RAM does because AMD didn't want that, and i don't know why.

DCR is just a bonus in dual mining mode..well not exactly a bonus since claymore charge 2% fee in dual and only 1% fee in single..

I'm not selling my mined DCR, just stockpiling it since it is still in very early part of development (I'm speculating here).

i mine at ethermine and recently switched to ethpool because ethermine just removed "reported hashrate" --> i prefer seeing this.

ETH is currenty at ~ 0.0235 from ~0.028 because BTC is rising.

I do 1/4 hold  3/4 to btc. .   I cash some of the btc.   I also did buy 1000 dao

Anyone have tried undervolting stock 480s?

I get about 24.5MHs per card and would like to save on power a bit more.

I dont mind losing 1-2 MHs if I can lower down watts by at least 50-60watts more.

Anyone tried this?

Where do I get this Wattman utility for RX480. Can it undervolt the 480?

Is anyone running Claymore's dual with eth/sia instead of eth/dcr?

CDM as a standalone ETH miner is actually very good, more hash even and good stratum connection to most pools.

Dual mining.... the DCR and SIA earns peanuts in my opinion, will increase wattage and heat too.

You need to try each one going from lowest to highest voltage until its stable. One of my 290 is very stable the lowest voltage, another one is only stable at the highest voltage. Check your ASIC quality in GPUz

Thanx for trying to help.
For my home computer , mining with two gpus , I would like to get the less noise possible , so I need the lowest temp , that imply lower voltage I think.
Could you confirm my understanding in the reading of the files name ?
=> MBA_C6711101-100_K2_AGR_STILTMP_V48.zip (DPM7 - 1.1000V) is the less voltage available.

That would be correct - IME even the highest-voltage Stilt BIOS ran a TON cooler than the stock bios, I've not had enough time to play around with the others to date.
The x.xxxxV at the end is the "default" voltage for that BIOS version, lower is better for cool but too low = card don't work right, crashes a lot, etc - and that will vary quite a bit with the specific card due to manufacturing variation.

Thank you for advice ! I've tried the lowest but was not very happy with it , not better hashrate than stock , and more crashes ....
I will try an average voltage Bios instead !

Without over or underclocking I'm getting 29MHs on R9 390 (Win7, 64), Claymore single ETH mining

great!

what is your actual strategy about ETHs ? still selling some ? or waiting for a price up ?

anybody using deepcool quanta dq1250? any comments?

http://www.deepcool.com/product/powersupply/2014-02/10_796.shtml

bought a brand new at a huge discount, only 145 $

5 year warranty 145 usd seems to be a good deal.

it is two rails  1 is 45amps the other is 65 amps

http://www.deepcool.com/product/powersupply/2014-02/10_796.shtml

click output to see this

AC INPUT        VOLTAGE   CURRENT   FREQUENCY
                      100-240V   15.0A   47-63Hz

DC OUTPUT   +3.3V   +5V        +12V1     +12V2   -12V   +5VSB

CURRENT(Max)   25A            25A     45A             65A           0.8A     4A
OUTPUT(Max)         150W                  540W      780W          9.6W   20W

TOTAL OUTPUT   1250W

so proper setup for more then 4 cards may not be possible or at least tricky

i've already gave this a thought, "combining" modular cables in +12V1 (45A) with an adaptor to pcie can still power another one gpu. also i've read in a review that +12V2 can do up to 75A

are you saying that a 1250w PSU can run a 4 GPU setup? of what type of cards? I have a seasonic x-1250 btw

i have r9 390's and 280x's , without undervolting, "stock and overclocking only", how many can i squeeze into a 1250w PSU ideally?

normally i would put 3 280x to a 1250w, i tried 4 280x in a 1250w but it seems like it's stressing the PSU, haven't tried 3 r9 390s there but i think it can run okay.

Are you not underclocking? You do stock or over clock? If that is the case I can't advise you as I,never overclock when I mine.  I underclock Exclusively

actually overclock only..under clocking gpu ram maybe but i haven't tried it yet because i think i should use bios mods, maybe i'll try with 280x's, not with 390's (still under warranty).

lets skip power costs..

280x and 390 only

under clocked hash rate compared to overclocked hash rate?

an obvious advantage with under clocked gpus is you can pack more in a rig (space wise)

from your experience : excluding the confort point , in the end do you earn more with claymore including the dev fees ?

claymore is getting me 58mh on my 2 r9 390's  with a few less watts

it was doing 54mh with qtminer  with a few more watts.

it is more stable on claymore   ie less work to check it out.  and that is worth $$

Claymore is more stable than the Qtminer. The stratum connection is much better. I used to use QT, but not any more.

my cards varies, 74c to 83c

sometimes gaps are not enough, some of my cards are hanged like clothes lol, and i have two 145w electric fans at full speed, the first blows and the other serves as an exhaust fan (push-pull setup), the fans are worth 40$ each and have 5 years motor warranty Grin

Got you

Mine R9 390 are about 77C and I do not use external fans. Gap is about 5 cm (2") between

if you live in a cooler climate, that's fine..the spacing between the cards will make the temps too high from where i live

It is hard to call abq cooler place Smiley - I think you can control the gaps between cards.

What is your temperature/card?

Is anyone running Claymore's dual with eth/sia instead of eth/dcr?

There are some sporadic posts in Claymore DM topic

Not much info though
