'The right to privacy matters'
as of now i am going a bit crazy as on my first rig.  the two rx cards gave me nice numbers and never showed up on the pool

i moved of the rig  and put in 1 rx 480 on a second rig it shows okay number but does not show on the pool

so I am trying another pool on the second rig.

i am running 16.6.2 for windows 7 64 bit

now my r9 390 rig is running 15.12 on windows 7

so fast question  does anyone have their rx 480s on windows 7 and they show at the pools.

I have been waiting 2 hours  before going to the pool to check which should be long enoguh.

ethpool and nanopool

ethminer
qtminer

both show me a working setup in my house and my kwatt meter shows proper power

but both pools never picked up the work

these rigs work with the the r9 390s running 15.12

so is  the issue windows 7 with 16.6.2?

Do you sell the rig after a while? If you buy the R9 390 and undervolt it, it consums about 150W. But the ROI is longer.

Yeah I sell the rigs.  I look to build a rig for 900 to 1300 .

A 900 dollar rig would get me 600 when sold.  I would mine it for 750 in mining earnings.

So the 900 would get me 1350 a 450 profit.

I will look to sell these in August .

I just got 2 sapphire rx 480x's      44mh and  350 watts   the 350 watts include the pc

I have not  much  work using wattman as I just tried it today.

sapphire trxx and msi afterburner do not work

wattman is VERY buggy, it keeps crashing for me.. but.

first thing i did with wattman is turn off the power efficiency in the global settings under gaming.. with this on, the cards dont spool up very well to full speed.

then i went in the each cards properties and set the fan speed to 2500/4500 and the temp to 90/70

i also went in to the voltage and set the last 2 the same as the 3rd from the last.. for me it was 1080mv.

i also set my last clock back to stock 1266 as XFX set it to 1288.

this seems to get me at 47MH and about mid 70c with the fan speed around 3000 rpm.

where do I download Wattman?

its part of the 16.2 drivers..
just right click and choose AMD Radeon settings.
then click on gaming. then global settings..

if it doesnt crash then you can change settings.. if it does you gotta reboot and try again.

The standoff kit looks good.

Here is my newest two card build

I will post photos tonight.

It has this mobo

this card
http://www.provantage.com/xfx-r9nano4sf6~7PINE0WK.htm
plus this card

this case
http://www.provantage.com/corsair-cc-9011077-ww~7CRSC011.htm
So I paid 800 for the above.  I was curious about the r9 nano I could have purchased 2 r9 380's
and paid 500

 I get 45 or 46 mh   with the r9 nano and the r9 380

I would have got 36 mh with 2  r9 380's
this is a small case and cooling r9 390's would have been hard.

All below was free.

I went ahead and got a standoff kit from ebay, they are made of nylon and come in a many different sizes, I will drill the holes and plug the standoffs into the wood.  I figured that would be the easiest way to go about getting the mobo elevated a bit and easy in the future if I change or upgrade boards.

This is the kit I ordered http://www.ebay.com/itm/231896025449?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

using risers or direct into PCI slots?

I would guess no risers.

I am quite impressed with the 480 in terms on getting something MHs near my Nanos and 390s, at way cheaper price.

But I hear many negative feedbacks on 480s, about power overdraw, not OC able, etc. - maybe just noise or NVIDIA fanboys talking, maybe.

Btw, where do I download Wattman?

'The right to privacy matters'
I think it's better to be cautious then have a oh shit moment.  I started with 1 7950 and soon swooped on a second 7950 that I have now completely paid for with mining this coin and there will be some life left in ether mining I think for a while, or hopefully long enough for some other coins to balance things out,

I like Philip's setup but I decided to go with a rig and build it open air.  I had most of the hardware except the  mainboard and some cables, risers that I paid for with the earning and I ordered 2 R9 290's on newegg when they dropped the price in a 1 day sell at $180 each free shipping.  I will be placing those on my new rig and possibly one of my 7950's, and then we will see where I go from there.

Thats my rig just about ready to accept the new cards, I just need to install the standoffs and cut the back bar to height so the cards sit level.  I had all the pvc fittings already so it only cost me $2.50 for 10 feet of 3/4" ...It way a pretty fun project to build and is very sturdy.

nice work!

I have a question about the base board it looks like ply wood did you put a few holes in it to let air get under the mobo?

I would use these to lift the mobo off the wood and get  some air under the mobo

http://www.amazon.com/Nylon-Spacer-Bushings-257-Length/dp/B005C0L5ZW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464027316&sr=8-1&keywords=nylon+spacers

i would use these
http://www.amazon.com/Motherboard-Flat-Nylon-Washers-White/dp/B00BJLZ3BK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1464027516&sr=8-3&keywords=nylon+washer

and these
http://www.amazon.com/Screws-Phillips-Stainless-Self-Tapping-Quantity/dp/B01CEZT388/ref=sr_1_4?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1464028074&sr=1-4&keywords=screws&refinements=p_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A2292861011%2Cp_n_feature_twelve_browse-bin%3A11433852011

so # 4 screw + nylon washer + mobo + spacer + plywood board. I have made quite a few open ones that way.

Back in 2012 I had 20-23 gpus in 10-13 pc's ran on bitminter about 12 gh  when the entire network was all of 20th!

I just put my last upgrade for now,(sure phil thats right  Roll Eyes

so I will just mine eth coin for now. in my house.

and they will be able to  mining while sleeping further lowering their cost for the rig.

Phil,

With all my respect - by gamers do not sleep! Smiley

About your strategy - gamers PCs should have a quite good CPU (Quad with 3+ GHs) - isn't it?

6500t is fine for newer boards.

The whole system is 1250w while mining.

+ I checked with GPU-Z , my clock changes in afterburner have no effect on GPU. Only voltage and power limit change something. GPU-Z show that I'm stuck at 900mhz/1050mhz. But as this numbers are ok, I will let it work like that at the moment , and maybe will try the Stilt later.

Does it change between 900 and 1500? When you set a certain power limit, say -10%, the frequency cannot be fixed?

you could try sapphire trixx vs afterburner.

I just started with it and I can get a little better with it then afterburner.

bottom line is the reading for watts on your kill a watt meter.

Yeah I wonder which version we will be getting  Tongue  I was watching that listing for a while they dropped the price then the next day raised it back to $210 but now its sold out, I hope they get another batch of those in the future.

Oh shoot, that was a 1 day sale? Good thing I ordered a few of them.

Hard to pass up Sapphires, even if they turn out to be reference (like the pictures) instead of Tri-X (like the description claimed).

Unpaid signature.
yes it is 6 gpus , as Phil said.
Sorry for missing informations !
It's sapphire reference.

What is the total power consumption on the wall? Even if that is 1100W, that is very very efficient.
