Phil - are you using qtminer?
Try changing to Claymore. I was using qtminer before then changed to Claymore, and working fine at ethpool.
I forgot to give you credit as I did just that all is good now!

+1... Both of you... thanks for the advice.  Switched from qtminer to claymore, and much happier.  Once I got my old motherboard thinking gen3 pcie instead of gen2,  the cards "just work".  Hashing away at a total of ~49.5 MH/s.  I'll tweak voltages and clock rates once I get a good baseline established.

Thanks again!

to be honest i prefer the old 6 rig setup with asrock h81 pro btc

with $500 you have a rig of six gpu

with the next gen gpu that consume less the perfect setup would be this for six gpu

asrock h81 pro btc
g.skill 8GB
G1840(you may buy a pentium here for only $10 more, it may be worth it for the extra cache ram)
ssd 64GB(120GB i've found one sandisk for only 40 euro on amazon)
evga 1k g2

total is 450 euro + 50 for riser you have your rig for only 500, then you just add your gpu

1kw is enough for future gpu because polaris and pascal will consume something like 120w per card, for gpu like 490 or 1070

Personally $500 is too much to build a basic rig.  I like using older LGA 775 hardware and I can build a PVC rig for about $100 (minus PSU) so that roi can be reached much faster.  It can be hard to find the proper mobo but when you do buy few of them. My logic is mining is a short term operation and roi needs to be reached asap.  Its stressful watching difficulty rise and profit reduce when you have hardware on credit.  After you have a steady income stream then it become easier to justify newer equipment

it's the psu that cost a lot, that build that i posted cost only 250 then you add 200 for the psu and 50 for riser, which you are obligated to buy, so it's very cheap in the end

buying parts that are too old can lead to compatibility issue, also no motherboard is as good as the h81 pro btc for mining with six gpu

edit the build cost only $200 on amazon so even $50 lower that what i said before

i have 775 mining rigs with 4 GPU each.. motherboard + processor + ram + hdd is only 90$ max, shipping included

two of these rigs are mining for 2 years now

follow up i turned off the r9 390 pc  and I am running just the rx 480 pc with 2  480s.

i show 45-46 mh in house

but  at the pool  the line shows the hash and no credit or miner

you can see the r9 dropped off
you can see the rx pick up but i do not get  any credit for it.

this is happening on 3 different pc's  all windows 7 with the new 16.6.2 and installed

Good luck guys with your RXs , they seems to be complicated ...

]Drivers need work for sure

In the same time , I'm looking after the Stilt Bios.
Informations here :
https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=12830.msg121827#msg121827

And files here :
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B2XVfIhkHZlfcVR0QzhlQlhJYTA&usp=drive_web#list

I'm just not sure how to choose the good file for the 290.
As it seems to be the best choice with ethereum, I would like to take the bios with less voltage, but not sure to understand which one it is from the list here:
https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=12830.msg121827#msg121827

I think this one is with highest voltage : MBA_C6711101-100_K2_AGR_STILTMP_V34.zip (DPM7 - 1.2250V)

and this one the most undervolted : MBA_C6711101-100_K2_AGR_STILTMP_V48.zip (DPM7 - 1.1000V)

Could you guys confirm you understand that as me ?

im guessing there is a 3rd pci-e cable that is non modular?

you can probably use one of the molex adapters that came with the gpu.. but i would look into getting a better psu asap.

Ups - it does not looks like on your photo

Mine is not modular - cables are hardly wired inside

Only 3x 6 pins

where do you live?  if in the usa this will work for you

http://www.ebay.com/itm/FSP-AURUM-PRO-80PLUS-GOLD-850W-ModularCables-ATX12V-EPS-12V-Power-Supply-/182121669268?

this is the builder of the psu your setup will pull about 700 watts if you do low clocks  and you will do about 72-76mh

My cards just came by FedEx, and I'm not having much luck.

I'm currently mining at ethermine.org.  The cmd line looks like it's hashing away, but the statistics on the webpage show no hashing.

Win10 64-bit
PowerColor RX 480
Driver 16.200.1035

Sounds similar as below???

well i am now working great  using claymore see my other thread.

try downloading claymore link:

it would have to be a pretty old psu to only have 6 pin pci-e cables and not 8 pin ones..
those old psus usually have split rails. making it hard to power 2 or more gpus..

I think this one

Am I doomed Smiley ?

it has enough amps on the 12v line.. but it only has 2 sockets for cables?

as of now i am going a bit crazy as on my first rig.  the two rx cards gave me nice numbers and never showed up on the pool

i moved of the rig  and put in 1 rx 480 on a second rig it shows okay number but does not show on the pool

so I am trying another pool on the second rig.

i am running 16.6.2 for windows 7 64 bit

now my r9 390 rig is running 15.12 on windows 7

so fast question  does anyone have their rx 480s on windows 7 and they show at the pools.

I have been waiting 2 hours  before going to the pool to check which should be long enoguh.

ethpool and nanopool

ethminer
qtminer

both show me a working setup in my house and my kwatt meter shows proper power

but both pools never picked up the work

these rigs work with the the r9 390s running 15.12

so is  the issue windows 7 with 16.6.2?

Phil.. I am using Win7, with Crimson 16.6.2, mining at ethpool.

My worker shows up there no issues.

I am using Claymore Dual Miner v4.7 and its using "qtminer mode" and I can see "Effective Rate" and "Reported Hashrate" of 24.7MHs

I just woke up and this what ethpool shows me
the bottom line  says 23 mh reported >>>>> i think it is the  rx 480
the top one  says  53 mh = 2 r9 390's
the  middle line is an avg .

but it should list 2 rigs not 1
I will shut off the 2 r9 390's  and set if the bottom lines stays there.

Guys,

Stupid question from noob:

Just got my cards (2x R9 390), MB, memory, CPU, SSD. And realized that my 850W PSU has only 3x 6 pins outputs. I have with a GPU connector 2x 6pins -> 1x 8pins.

Does it mean that with this PSU I can power only 1 card?

id check out getting a better psu.
