Any post wey get Oyinbo completely, I go delete am from next week (Sunday).
I see this like how our president is acting and yet..., although this is self-moderated thread but is for all Nigerians, and you supposed to be the best person to be neutral here regardless of what is going on, but all languages in Nigeria are welcomed. Be it English, Pidgin or local language, this is not what we agreed to in the past with evidences I can bring up. Or is there no one that understand English too here?

If you wan rit for oyinbo go main board dem, dey plenty here no be una go come use english dey spoil the whole thread. I no care if we no get the local board but no spoil here.
If activities increase, we will get it.

Again: Official language na pidgin and native dialects (I dun update am for main post). E no mata how ur pidgin be. If you wan add am slangs no problem but know say straight up oyinbo yanings no go dey welcomed here again.
This is not what we agreed to, all news in Nigeria are in English, English is our official language. Why this now? All languages Nigerians are speaking are said to be accepted.

For example, the word CAP is not everyone that uses it, infact you say that word around my area you would need to identify who you are, I think the issue of pidgin and English is important
Exactly both are important, I just do not want to raise more valid points, but I would if need be, I got points before bringing a matter up, we should not act more like English is not widely spoken in Nigeria or that bitcoin and other crypto users do not understand English, yet it is our official language that we should not deny. I hate the fact that I am dedicating my time here with much activities to learn and gain from other Nigerians and yet people correcting me on what is not, when I believe if 20 other members post just like me, it will be easy to achieve local board. I have once said, achieving local board should be a gradual process.

Yet we post in both and our local thread was pinned recently, I do not expect this to be coming when we have made a conclusion about it just few months ago and more progress came after.

For example, the word CAP is not everyone that uses it, infact you say that word around my area you would need to identify who you are, I think the issue of pidgin and English is important, but language is not all about speaking it's also about understanding, if I can see a pidgin language which has no translator version and still understand it then to me it's a Local board communication, and we can't compare ourselves with other Local board they can easily find their translation on translator for those who do not understand their language, I don't have any problem speaking pidgin, i use it also in the outside world, amongst my friends, neighbor and colleague, because I know they understand, so I think we can do better, and also I would try to add some pidgin to my post here and in such a way I think anyone who reads it can understand.

Baba if u no sabi cap for pidgin fluently you fit dey add am small small for your talk make e no be pure English
You still not get me, make we leave everyone be, check the last four most quality topics, 3 na in English, yet most people post for pidgin. If 75% of post na Pidgin, no need to bring this up imo.

if you be yoruba you fit still dey talk with am I go still follow you talk for Yoruba.
If you no sabi Hausa, Igbo, or Yoruba, translators can mislead people, just leave people speaking it among us to post in it, post the one you understand which is Pidgin or your language if it can be active as people from your side plenty pass for here.

We don addressed this before, and there was positive result.

Activities matters but de language too still gum body for criteria for making a local board
Posting qualities and activities matters most, no be language. I dey surprised we dey get back to what we don addressed before after many positive changes for the good conclusion among us.

China to Establish Banks in Nigeria – In the Digital Currency Era, It May Be The Game Changer

Could dis be a gud news to 9ja or a gridlock to economy setback?
I bin dey remember somtimes back wen d govment encourages patronizing awa own home made local items in the likes of cars, rice, maize and fabrics to mention few and I can recall that such action and decision wey bin dey place ban on importation of dis dis dem awa items cause inflation to d market price, nd yet we engaged in buying low quality Nigerian products with no choice.

Bringing China banking sector into operation in Nigeria 2me is like going back to an era of colonization in disguise or claiming dependency on China 4 economi survival. If una fit remember dem USA, dey will dash u N5 and take am collect N50 back from u.

Abeg wetin una tink frm una own aspect on top dis opata mata?

the world’s second-largest economy is moving to establish its presence in the Nigerian banking industry.

This, the envoy said, would boost Nigeria’s economy and expand trade relations between the two nations.

When you list the world’s 10 big banks, six are in China. The banking sector is very important because, without money, we cannot build our industries,”

However, China’s move to add banking to its menu of businesses in Nigeria has come at a time when the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is moving to establish the Nigerian International Financial Centre (NIFC), in a bid to put Nigerian banks in a global spot.

Una dey hear talk.... dis bin one of dem reasons, d wisemen talk bin say " use wetin u get achif wetin u want" e no dey work for dis kind mata o

[CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity

Thanks to Rikafip for this local board stat update. We hope more good posters will be active on Nigeria local thread, we hope more new members will also be introduced so they can be active on the thread. If all of us are active here, posting a page (20 posts) in just a day with the best quality posts, we will achieve the local board very fast, this has been what I have been implying since long time ago. I believe as time goes on, this will be achievable.

Ten most active posters

Charles-Tim [41]
igehhh [22]
CryptopreneurBrainboss [14]
Mpamaegbu [14]
Nathrixxx [14]
Fivestar4everMVP [7]
Pokapoka124 [7]
BIT-BENDER [6]
Coyster [4]
CryptocurencyKing [3]

One of our active poster, Pokapoka124 was banned, it is not what we are happy about, there are times in the past we forget not to include link to our post or some kind of mistake that will make someone forget to include link. Let us all try to avoid this kind of mistake.

If we check this stat very well, it is clear how we are trying, only that more users should be introduced to this local thread so that we will help ourselves more about bitcoin and crypto related matters and also learning many more about what is happening in Nigeria from one another.

Regulate cryptocurrency trading now to check high profile crimes, ICPC tells NASS

The fact that Nigerian youths are mostly into online businesses such as networking, Cryptocurrency, digital marketing and forex trading to mention few does not eqaute to doing Yahoo.

Secondly Cryptocurrency on its own is self regulated, we don't need govt hand in it, govt is yet to track down the perpetrators of insurgencies, kidnapping and corrupt politicians, this were known individuals who can be traceable but yet nothing done, our youth sort for an alternative means for survival despite the government neglegence to ameliorate bad to good yet they want to track, and take control of the crypto transactions, their own economy system regulated has nothing to show forth than depreciation and yet want to regulate Cryptocurrency. (Wrong conception).

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, has asked the National Assembly to come up with legislation that would regulate cryptocurrency trading to stop operators from using it to perpetrate heinous crimes.

Am yet to believe that crypto is now being used for ransom in Nigeria by kidnappers and bandits but if true, then crypto is taking over gradually. In Nigerian market, one item of commodity can be seen with different prices from various sellers, yet claimed regulated by the govt...Who controls the buying and selling price in the market, who authenticate my source of income and other respective buyers, if I buy a fake or substandard product who Is in charge, there are many fake, substandard, foggery and scams out there, isn't there govt whom we pay duly tax, commissions and who is charged with he responsibility of the so called regulations and policy implementation failed?

If they scamedd you of fake bank alert or ATM related fraud, does the regulated body sit to ensure your fund is refunded back.... Shame, they had better leave our sustaining crypto for us as it's more safer even than their own so called regulated old traditional Fiat system.

God bless our hustle!
Crown our efforts!
Provide for our daily bread!
In Nigeria, any online business is termed Yahoo Yahoo and scam. (Wrong mentality)

The anti-graft agency lamented that kidnappers, bandits now use the medium to carry out high profile crimes like money laundering and payment of ransom for kidnappers

“Corruption in digital assets are not easily traceable for instance if somebody steals billions of Naira and converts it quickly into cryptocurrency, it’s almost impossible to trace it.

The pinned local thread requested overshadowed this topic, I think it is worth to be discussed about.

Nigeria is not yet ready to regulate cryptocurrencies, it was just a request that the national assembly should regulate cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies also needs regulation, but experienced bitcoin users can still make use of it in a noncustodial way, having privacy. But the government will want to regulate the custodial exchanges and other centralized services. Nigeria still have not plan for the regulation that SEC is even planning for. Only that the CBN banned bank-to-crypto transactions for their e-naira.

It is wrong that bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies are used for criminal activities like ransom in Nigeria, even Boko Haram demanded for naira, bandits kidnapping kings are all demanding for naira, kidnappers are also demanding for naira, this is obvious all over the news. This is in accordance to what has been on the news, I have never read a news in which people that kidnapped (kidnappers) requested for bitcoin or other crypto assets before in Nigeria, but we all know Nigerian organizations and leaders, they will not conduct more research but take to media false information in order to achieve their aim. At least, if their is any evidences of cryptocurrencies been used for ransom, their should be some news or links to defend this.

You can not believe the rate of kidnapping in Nigeria, it has significantly increased, while all I have read about demanded for naira.

let me learn something from here.  Cool
I see you mostly write in English here. only a few words are of unknown origin to me, but even these strangers seem to me to be part of some slang.
Why you don't write in the Nigerian language here (I mean it's the local part of this forum)?
whether the English language is so used in yours country?
Even before Nigeria was colonized by the Britain, Pidgin (the language you meant) was used in some regions in West Africa just to be able to communicate between the English people and blacks. We are even still better to make other people to understand little of it, because if we write all our words in Pidgin, it might not look like English at all, but if spoken, English people will be able to understand it which is a successful means of communication between the our forefathers and and whites (the English people) to make trades in the olden days.

It was commonly spoken by unlearned people in the region as at then, but as level of education increased and also after independence, many educated people are also now speaking Pidgin. It is a lingua franca in some West Africa countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Cameron and Equatorial Guinea.

Even, when BBC knows how common Pidgin is in Africa, BBC Africa is in Pigin now, which was introduced in 2016/2017. You can watch this video

Pidgin - West African lingua franca
BBC starts Pidgin digital service for West Africa audiences

Pigin is a lingua franca in some West African countries even that many unlearned citizens also understand while learned people that are speaking it have significantly increased in Nigeria.

You are always welcome here, they are not slangs they are pidgin English and if you read the 1-2 pages of [the local board request thread] you will understand why pidgin and English is mostly used here, and also we try as much as possible to let other non-Nigerians contribute to our discussions just like the India local board. so make we no make am like say we dey spam as that user talk.
The user was wrong, we have veteran Nigerians that know what spam is, I am still among the spam reporters theymos posted recently, we have not in anyway spam anything with what we have posted. The user could be frustrated as Serbian board was not given when already stated that they are similar to Croatian because the languages are the same with only little differences, which means Serbians understand Croatians. What they should fight for is to make the language general and not restrict it to only Croatia as some Serbians are even posting on Croatian board.

you don't seem to have understood my intentions here. I have absolutely nothing against your ambition and the opening of your board, whether that will happen is certainly not my decision.
it certainly has nothing to do with a similar initiative I launched for the Serbian board on this forum. we failed, I gave up that fight (the real reason why we failed was that many Serbian users did not want to come out of their anonymity, and there are a lot of them with a very good reputation)

in a short time, several topics appeared with a discussion related to the Nigerian local thread, to everyone else outside of it Nigerian, it's not such an important topic it, therefore, seems like an exaggeration (maybe this is more appropriate than saying it’s spam  Wink )
you already have few users, accused/banned because of plagiarism, now I saw Dragonfund is Nigerian and his topic on Reputation... all this does not create a good image of you. (Yes I know, they are individuals and there is that everywhere). this can certainly can be important when someone decides on your request, that is why it is important that "veterans" do not make beginner mistakes.

When I say about activity, compare yours to others who are also without their board. you will see a lot of them much more active, also packed into just one topic.
Unfortunately, I have not seen anyone's similar appeal succeed. who knows, maybe you'll be the first.

I believe that you should take into consideration our experience with the same problem, as well as possible advice.
