I seriously they wish this discover to dey successful so the North for face their own national resources and commot eye for the south's own. I believe say this new development to strengthen the country's economy and fit reduced the fuel spike in price and scarcity wey we dey get. You no say the north get well industrial men wey go run better refinery for them and e go dey successful unlike wetin we dey experience for the south.
Sha wetin you dey think of this new discovery and how e go affect the counter both positively and negatively?.
Baba the discovery makes sense, because once every state have a major mineral resource like crude petroleum those other states were dey dependent go at least get waiten to fall back to when the issue of state independence is discussed at the national level. One of the major set back of restructuring and true federalism in Nigeria is the over-dependant of the north on other parts for revenue derivation from crude oil most especially, but now that most States are now discovering resources that can aid their self-sustainability if they are asked to manage their resource and pay some percentages to the federal against the present corrupted manner of federal government total control of all the mineral resource within all the states in the federation.
I was happy when I watch on the news that my own state is now listed among oil-producing states in Nigeria even though the exploration of the oil has not begun but at least the federal-state allocation for my state will be the same as that of other Oil producing states like Rivers and the rest.
Sha wetin you dey think of this new discovery and how e go affect the counter both positively and negatively?.
The discovery of the oil can be positive and negative at the same time,
But if politics is kept aside, this development could result in big national development and a potential point for true federalism in Nigeria.
But the negative side is corruption and political intolerance, in the north against other parts of the country. Our prayer be say make we get strong political will from the Next administration after the 2023 election, which will create a pathway to regional freedom and revenue independence.
