I like the idea
It's nice to be concerned about trolls but the forum could try some different reputation scheme...

These restrictions are just ridiculous.
Is a very smart idea, just a shame I'm in a rush to send a pm! : P Will get there eventually. Can't be a newb forever!

I think that's fair. It keeps things clean and prevents people from posting just for the sake of taking up space. Now I just have to spend some time hanging out and learning how all of this stuff works.

Definitely annoying. Must have been really bad with sock puppets and other riff raff. Not really sure of an other way to deal with the problem though.
I'm glad to see a forum take control like that. I wish other forums would follow suit. 4 hours is more than most trolls and spammers would spend.
been a long time since i was a newbie, have to get used to it i guess. reminds me of the drugbuyer days.....
Sucks that you can't post anywhere but i can see why it is necessary.
Uhh this is painful for me because I'd really love to ask some questions in the other parts of this forum 
I am a member on many forums and I find it strange they have this "newbie" attitude here ..
In my experience with forums, those that have newbie rules do so at their benefit. Too easy to spam otherwise.
