I really like this concept. In my opinion a forum is a community and this is a very solid way of preventing unwanted people from getting in and effecting the rest of the community. I don't mind this wait time because I know i'm going to be joining a good reliable group of people plus there so much to learn going through theses forums this time should fly by  Cool

This is my second post. I know this quite boring for anybody, but I have to troll 5 times to get rid of my newby status.
You know, this is necessary to stop trolls.

Due to a mass of trolling
I have to strongly disagree with this, making new members restricted in no way stops trolling and people posting worthless crap on the forums since the "trolls" are not banned or removed in any way from the main forums. I see what the intentions were but it feels very DRM-esque in its failures in doing anything worthwhile while restricting people who intend on making good contributions.

If i had to be totally honest, OP's post itself actually angers me a little in its short-sightedness and almost verging on a "troll" post itself, which is amusingly meta.

My thoughts on the matter anyway.

I've been using this forum quite a while not, however I'm more of a lurker. 1st time I've felt compelled to post I find that i canno't...Took a while trying to find this noob section as I've only bookmarked bitcoin discussion and economics. A default private msg sent to new users would be nice outlining the restrictions and requirments to have them lifted.

just my 2 cents..and my first post

No kidding... I was clicking through a forum that I read from page 1-33, went to reply and realized no button... Thinking It was a browser Issue, I clicked through a few others... No dice until i hit the front page again.

At least now I don't think the probability is as high that I am crazy.

Hello everyone.
Thanks also, makes much more sense.

it's not counting the total time I have logged in at all.  I've been pretty active too.  I'm not complaining though: I'd rather anyone who isn't truly active to be stuck in the Newbie section anyways.  Will be worth the wait i guess.  Cheers for not letting anyone and everyone in the spam the forums and make it a big messy headache  Cheesy

Agree with the need for some restrictions. Just sit tight folks and make yourselves useful on this board and it'll be over with soon enough Tongue

as far I've already been administrator of several forums, I know what pain is, to clear bullshits. so no hate from me this time.
