Pretty smart restriction, requires users to at least put a little time in before doing anything..

Thanks also, makes much more sense now.
Been a member for a long time and simply never posted.  First time I tried, and couldn't find the "reply" button.  Uhhg.

Painfully trying to find 5 things to post/reply to.

Actually I did two $600 deposits. I did them separately.

If there was some problem with that, it's pretty scary that no one has even responded to my support email saying so, and I would still like to know what happened to my money!

BitInstant has, historically speaking, rarely responded to support emails. If you deposited through a bank, I would try emailing/calling TrustCash in the invoice or email you received.

Excuse me. We ALWAYS respond to Support email within minutes if not one hour.

All emails have been responded to. Please do not spread false information.

There was no problem with your order.

Wait, who are trustcash??

If you deposited through a bank then you printed out/emailed yourself an invoice from the TrustCash website, and the info should be in that. If you went through Walmart, 7-11, or CVS then I don't know who to contact since I have never tried those options.

You can contact support on our website. We always respond and are known to have A+ customer service.

One other thing that might have stopped your order from going through is that your order was more than $1000. As I understand it, that is the maximum amount per day that you can deposit, although they might have meant Bitcoins rather than Dollars.

No, they didn't.  The $1K daily rule is there to keep BitInstant inline with US banking laws with respect to international transfer agencies.  The laws exist (officially) to frustrate monely laundering efforts, and probably do apply to bitcoin intermediaries in general, although that has never been tested in court as far as I am aware.  If you want to transfer more than that daily limit, you have to extensively identify yourself to BitInstant, who in turn will do so to the US government on your behalf should any of your transactions come under scrutiny

I just came here to ask about BitInstant. I have used them before and it was indeed 'instant', but I did $1200 in deposits with them yesterday and I still haven't received anything from them! Nor have they responded to my support email.

Did you write TrustCash/whatever other company you were using a check? I paid by cash on Wednesday and received my coins in <20 minutes from the time I deposited. Today I deposited (<$1000) by check, and I haven't received my coins yet, for 3 hours now.

One other thing that might have stopped your order from going through is that your order was more than $1000. As I understand it, that is the maximum amount per day that you can deposit, although they might have meant Bitcoins rather than Dollars.

Quote from: BitInstant.com
limits 500 for all transfers, 1000 for cash bank deposits, 4000 per per day

I will send you a PM (personal/private message) regarding this issue, click the "My Messages" link at the top by "Profile".

Restrictions seem reasonable, effort trying to make meaningful posts though.

I agree... but again.. playing the game ... the ends justify the means...

4 hours online, eh? I've done the 5 post minimum, but I may have to leave a browser tab open for 3 more hours, unless only active browsing of the forums counts as being online.

Yes, the algorithm only counts active time on the forum as time online. There's plenty to read though  Wink
